There is most likely no other 2000 TJ like this out there!

I did not build this to crawl or mud.. I built it to enjoy on the street with the top off!

Fully customized 2000 Jeep TJ Sahara Edition soft top with 21,000 original miles with 7 inches of rear lift & 8.5 inches of front lift ROLLING ON 37's!!

Automatic, tilt, A/C, rear wiper/washer provisions if a hardtop is installed, fog lights

This Jeep has had a full body off custom restoration as crazy as that seems for a 19,854 (at the time of tear down) mile vehicle and was taken down completely to the bare frame and then everything was sandblasted and then painted with the "Eastwood Companies" rust encapsulating paint and then the frame, front & rear ends were painted in a sand color that matched the Sahara decal and all of the suspension components were done in body color green, everything was painted with PPG base coat/clear coat.

We also sandblasted the entire underside of the body and sprayed that with 3 coats of rust encapsulating paint followed by a light bed-liner spray, we also sprayed the rust encapsulating paint all under the hood & firewall.

The engine, transmission & transfer case were all pressure washed and painted with rust encapsulating paint and the valve cover and pulleys were painted the sand color with Base coat clear coat. A new oil pan & gasket were also installed as it was scaly and I did not like the looks once cleaned up. The transmission now has a drain plug also.

The gears were never swapped to compensate for tire size as I was not building this for the rocks, mud or off road and it goes down the road real nice, it would help out the power if they were changed but I have no plans on doing it.

The body obviously had no rust but was still repainted the factory green with PPG base coat/clear coat, the mirror mounts, tailgate hinges, door hinges, vent shades and wiper arms were also painted body color. The body was color sanded & buffed after paint.

Every nut and bolt was either sandblasted and painted or replaced with new, some in stainless.

Upgraded Pro-Comp front off-road lights in front bumper

Rugged Ridge headlight bezels & grill accents in black

Window vent shades painted body color

I was going to install a programmer both for power and to correct the speedometer however have not done that yet as I have not found one I'm happy with buying.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

AGAIN there is most likely no other 2000 TJ out there quite like this..

I spent almost $10,000 on this build over and above the purchase price Spring of 2012 and I did all the work other than the exterior paint.

Asking $17,500 obro Please don't waste time with silly lowball offers! Look up the KBB and add the money for the extras plus labor.

You CAN NOT build one this nice for this price!!

Delivery is an option on an open 22 foot deck-over trailer for an additional amount.

Jeep Grand Cherokee, BMW i8, Ford F-150 win 2015 Green Car Awards in DC [w/video]

Tue, Jan 27 2015

There were three shiny trophies handed out at the Washington Auto Show last week by Green Car Journal, and they went to three different examples of what "green" means in the automotive industry today. The Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel won the award for the 2015 Green SUV of the Year, the BMW i8 was named the 2015 Luxury Green Car of the Year and the Ford F-150 took the 2015 Green Car Technology Award honor. There is a case to be made that the aluminum body of the new Ford truck will make a bigger impact in the overall fuel usage in the US than almost any other vehicle, given the numbers of F-150s that Ford sells each year. The B20 biodiesel-capable Jeep gets up to 30 miles per gallon on the highway. And the i8 puts all sorts of new, fuel-saving technologies into an attractive package. Looking over the winners, and the list of finalists you can see in our photo gallery, and you can see that the definition of green is expanding every year. You can watch Green Car Journal editor Ron Cogan hand out the 2015 awards in the video below and we'll for sure be paying attention to what wins next year. 2015 Luxury Green Car of the Year, Green SUV of the Year and Green Car Technology Winners Announced WASHINGTON, Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Car Journal has named the Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel its 2015 Green SUV of the Year™ and the BMW i8 its 2015 Luxury Green Car of the Year™, with the aluminum-bodied Ford F-150 earning the magazine's 2015 Green Car Technology Award™. Winners were determined by a jury of Green Car Journal editors and automotive experts. The prestigious awards were announced in Washington, D.C. today at a Green Car Awards™ press conference held during the Washington Auto Show's Public Policy Day at the Washington Convention Center. "These are truly commendable vehicles representing the 'best-of-the-best' in so many ways," said Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of the Green Car Journal and CarsOfChange.com. "The auto industry's very early focus on small cars and efficiency-for-environment tradeoffs has evolved to now include a more dynamic field of 'greener' models in all vehicle classes. Those wanting greater efficiency or better environmental performance are no longer constrained by limited choices or vehicle types that fall outside their top purchase preferences.

Daily Driver: 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X Edition

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Daily Driver videos are micro-reviews of vehicles in the Autoblog press fleet, reviewed by the staffers that drive them every day. Today's Daily Driver features the 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X Edition, reviewed by Adam Morath. You can watch the video above or read a transcript below. Watch more Autoblog videos at /videos. VIDEO TRANSCRIPT Hi, I'm Adam Morath for Autoblog. Now, undoubtedly, one of the coolest things about this job is that you're in and out of so many different vehicles, but, I'll be honest, there are times where, if you're in very similar vehicles, they can start to run together a little bit. That's why I love getting into a car like this that just snaps you right out of it because it's so unique and so different from anything else on the market. Of course I'm talking about the Jeep Wrangler. I'm in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is the X Edition, which stands for X Games. Jeep is a big title sponsor of the 2015 Aspen X Games and you can see that all over this vehicle. You have white, glossy accent plastic in the interior; mountain graphics throughout the interior and exterior of the vehicle – a nod, obviously, to the winter sports and skiing that you would do out in Aspen. And then in keeping with that mountainous theme, you have an Alpine nine-stereo speaker system. I'll be honest, though, that some of it feels a little overdone to me. For instance, there's a power-bulge in the hood. Credit to Jeep: the vents are actually functional, but this is not the trim I would go for, just personally. It's one of those vehicles that people are always wondering, "I really like the look of it [and] I like the capability, but could I live with a Wrangler?" It's the same sort of question you'll get from people who are looking at a sports car, "could I actually live with this is my daily driver?" And I have to say, Jeep has come a long way – Wrangler, in particular, has come a long way – in terms of driving comfort. Of course, don't expect "Lexus quiet." You can probably hear it's a big noisy in the cabin. It's a bit of a bumpy ride. There are things about this vehicle that I could see being annoying in your day-to-day life. For instance, the door: it's essentially an external hinge on the door, but it doesn't stay open for you. So, if you're on any sort of a tilt, the door will come back in and you have to just prop it open with your leg. Little things like that.

Jeep Liberty replacement takes shape

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Now that the Liberty has left us for greener pastures, it's time to start looking into the future of the midsize Jeep model. The next all-new vehicle for the off-road brand will be the SUV you see here, effectively replacing the Liberty, and not necessarily carrying on with that name.
From the sides, the prototype you see here sort of looks like a miniature version of the handsome Grand Cherokee, albeit with a bit more in the way of body sculpting. Up front, the seven-slat grille will be front and center, with completely revised headlamp designs that are reportedly angular and sweep well into the front fenders (you can sort of see what we're talking about in the side profile). That doesn't sound very Jeep-like, but we'll reserve judgment until we, you know, see the thing.
The bigger question with the Liberty replacement will be whether or not its off-road chops will be up to snuff. After all, the two previous generations of Liberty models were body-on-frame traditional SUVs, whereas this new Jeep rides on a larger version of the Dodge Dart platform.
