1999 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4x4 Tj V8 Ford 302 5.0 on 2040-cars
Bristol, Tennessee, United States
1999 Jeep Wranger with over $25,000 invested. 1993 Ford Mustang v8 bored .030 over, 650 Holley carb, electric fan, custom wiring harness, new clutch and pressure plate, roughly 5k miles on engine since rebuild, custom auto meter gauges and dash, new CD player, hardtop, soft top, 4" rubicon lift, 33" BFG mud terrain tires, Mickey Thompson Classic 2 wheels, Detroit trutrac rear differential, 4.56 gears, and more!
Frame is solid, springs, balljoints, wheel bearings, etc. all SOLID. Needs new rear sway bar endlinks as the the rubber bushings are gone. Quick disconnect links on front. The Jeep can vapor lock in very high temperatures, I have tried to prevent this the best I could but adding a phenolic spacer to the intake manifold under the carb, heat wrapping the exhaust pipe, and keeping the Jeep electric fuel pump in the tank.I would highly recommend a larger radiator and fan for offroad use. I spent over 100+ hours rewiring the Jeep last year. I left out the rear defrost, wiper and interior lights. Please feel free to ask any questions! I can also send more pics if requested. |

Jeep Cherokee appears in Chrysler's second Super Bowl spot
Mon, 03 Feb 2014The second of three spots produced by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for this year's Super Bowl featured the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Aired during the game's half time show, the minute-long ad didn't strike as anything new or innovative from an automaker with a reputation for above average Super Bowl spots, but it did show the controversially styled Cherokee in the best light possible.
Called Restless, the commercial shows young, adventurous types doing the sorts of things that young, adventurous types do: surfing, skateboarding, cliff jumping, staring off into the sky with a pensive expression, etc. Scroll down to watch Restless for yourself and let us know in Comments if Jeep managed to hold your attention during half time.
Jeep lays out 5-year plan, including rebirth of Grand Wagoneer and new C-segment offering
Tue, 06 May 2014Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Machionne presented a five-year plan for the company brands this morning, with Jeep first up on a long day of presentation. Jeep's head honcho Michael Manley wasted no time in laying out what the foreseeable future will look like for what he calls the "lead global brand" of the company.
Big goals for the next half-decade will include expanding the lineup from five nameplates built in one country, to six nameplates build in six countries. That expansion of models will include both a three-row competitor, and, of course, a small vehicle to slot below Cherokee. The company is also seeking to add a whopping 1,300 dealers over the next few years, to sell all this new metal, and has an aggressive goal of doubling Jeep sales by the time 2018 rolls around.
As expected, that first salvo from the off-road brand will be the debut of the much ballyhooed Renegade small crossover in the third quarter of this year. Jeep has already designated that Renegade will get refreshed for the 2017 model year, as well.
Chrysler delays 2014 Jeep Cherokee media launch
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Chrysler is making the unusual move of delaying the first media drives of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which were slated to start next week in Seattle. And while something like this is a rare occurrence, and one that most of the Autoblog staff can't recall happening this publicly or so close to the event itself, it won't effect the actual on-sale date of the new Cherokee, which is set to hit showrooms in September.
"Over the last couple of weeks during final quality and durability testing, we have discovered the opportunity to further improve powertrain calibration," Chrysler told Automotive News. This marks the second notable delay in the Cherokee's short life, after production was delayed for roughly a month earlier this summer.
Still, we'd rather Chrysler make sure the Cherokee is ready for primetime before flying media in from around the country. It shows a willingness to get things right the first time, rather than offering media drives and then tweaking the car after the fact.
