1999 Jeep Wrangler that has been COMPLETELY customized. It started as a stock Wrangler that
was red. I replaced front differential with a 1999 Cherokee front diff and installed 3.73 gears, installed a DANA
44 rear axle with 3.73 gears. Replaced all brakes. Installed a K&N air intake and a throttle body spacer, painted
them the same color as the body, borla cat back exhaust. Otherwise engine is stock Jeep 4.0. Has an automatic
transmission, it was serviced with new fluid and filter. Installed a rough country 2 1/2” suspension lift kit,
and a 2” lift kit. It is riding on Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ LT315/70R17 on Dick Cepek DC2 Rims. The body has a
complete metal cloak body armor kit installed with aluminum front fenders, steel flares, and aluminum armor around
sides and back. Also metal cloak skid plate under fuel tank. Fender flares and roll bar were powder coated. Inside
the Jeep tub it was Rhino lined, dash and door panels painted in black, installed new Best Top seats, new Best Top
Trek top NX, and a radio from a Grand Cherokee. The ENTIRE Jeep was sprayed in Dodge Viper Snake Skin Green and it
was sprayed COMPLETELY apart. Paint and clear alone was almost $4,000.00. This Jeep has less than 2,000 miles on it
since being completely rebuilt. It is 100% ready to show or go off road!!!

What does Jeep have cooking with this stretched Cherokee?
Mon, Feb 15 2016Chrysler has been spotted testing what appears to be a stretched Jeep Cherokee prototype. Which seems odd, considering that Jeep already makes a Grand Cherokee, and that's an entirely different model. The question then is just what the company has in the works here. We don't know for sure – but we do have some ideas. We're anticipating a new Grand Wagoneer to serve as the brand's flagship model, but stretching the Cherokee's wheelbase to leapfrog the Grand Cherokee's would take more than eight inches – and stretching a "compact" platform to get there wouldn't seem to make a lot of sense. Alternatively Jeep could be looking to wedge a new model into its lineup in between the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, potentially offering a third row of seats and wearing the Wagoneer name - sans the "Grand" - as part of a new range of seven-seaters. Just what the point would be, however, when the Dodge Durango already offers three rows based on the same platform as the Grand Cherokee, is a bit of a mystery. Another possibility is that it's not a Jeep at all, but rather a Dodge. The brand is in need of a replacement for the current Journey, and we're also waiting to see what FCA does to replace the Grand Cherokee since it unveiled the Chrysler Pacifica to replace the Town and Country. More of a crossover approach could take the Cherokee's Compact US Wide (CUSW) platform as its starting point, but stretched like this prototype to offer more space. Whatever it is, we're sure this won't be the last we'll have seen of it, so watch this space. Related Video:
Chrysler 3.0L EcoDiesel V6: Autoblog Technology of the Year finalist
Wed, 19 Nov 2014Offering a diesel engine in an American pickup is anything but new - Ford, General Motors and Chrysler all offer excellent and almost impossibly powerful oil-burning engines in their various fullsize trucks. What is new and novel about the 3.0L EcoDiesel, though, is its size, and the variety of vehicles that use it. It's the smallest engine, as far as displacement is concerned, currently offered in a large truck in the US, and, for 2014 and 2015, it is available in the Ram 1500 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Though it may be small, it's got muscle. While 240 horsepower isn't particularly impressive these days, the engine's 420 pound-feet of torque more than makes up for that. The torque rating is even greater force than even the big 5.7-liter Hemi can muster. Chrysler's well-regarded eight-speed automatic transmission makes the most of all that bull-headed pulling power in both the Ram and Grand Cherokee. Chrysler claims the Ram EcoDiesel 1500 can tow as much as 9,200 pounds when properly equipped, which makes it "90-percent of the Hemi with a night and day difference in fuel economy."
Make no mistake; it's that promise of a sizable fuel economy improvement that many long-haul truckers will be most interested in. In the Ram 1500 that we tested for our Tech of the Year competition, the diesel engine costs $2,850 more than the gas-fed V8, and Ram estimates that EcoDiesel buyers will pay off their investment when compared to the Hemi engine in less than three years, which is considerably less time than the 4.5 or so years the average buyer will keep his or her fullsize pickup. The more you drive, the more you'll save, and the math proves equally as effective in the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
