Up for sale is an '87 Jeep Wrangler. This was the first year of the wrangler and square headlights. Previous owner built it from stock to where you see it today. I will list all the parts/items that I know of that are on this Jeep and try to describe it as accurately as I can. It has a 3 in. body lift and 2.5 Skyjacker lift as well as an additional spring added on front end to improve the ride. So this Jeep is set up very high and made to go over or through about anything. It was not meant for long trips but I have had it on multiple 2 hr. rides with no problems and it rides very smooth down the road. It was built for mudding and trail rides so the lift works great for that. There is an additional fan added to help cool the radiator. I was told to always have it on but the jeep has never ran hot with or without it. I believe it was beneficial when mudding and climbing to help keep it cool as it has barrier to keep mud from engine compartment. Previous owner also installed lights on front and underneath to help see if have issues on the trails and need additional light. Fender flares could use replacing or repainting if desired. This is easily done. The Rally lights on top are not wired and just for show. They can be wired but they run a lot of power so would need an additional battery. I have tried to list anything that might be of concern and I am not trying to deceive anyone. Overall this Jeep is in great condition and a lot of fun. I have found NO RUST. If anywhere, it's surface but I honestly haven't found any. Recent oil/fluid changes. Drained and re-filled the gears professionally. Email with any questions or if you want to see additional pics or video of it running. Could also see in person if desired. Buyer is responsible for Local Pick-up only. Payment in person Cash only.

Petrolicious profiles an heirloom Willys Jeep CJ-3B
Tue, Mar 8 2016Things tend to move pretty quickly in the automotive industry, but some icons that endure. Most of them are off-roaders – the Land Rover Defender, Mercedes G-Wagen, and of course the Jeep Wrangler. The latter traces its roots, of course, to the CJ-model Willys Jeep, built for civilian use in the wake of World War Two where it cut its teeth on the shores of Normandy and kicking off a legend that still endures over half a century later. For its latest video, Petrolicious profiles one such off-roader, and the man who owns it. That man is Larry Shank from California, and his ride is a 1953 Willys Jeep CJ-3B hooked up to a 1947 Ken-Skill Kustom Kamper Model 10. Both belonged to his father before him, and they would take family vacations in the wheeled pair from when he was young. His dad taught him to drive and maintain it, and they bonded over the shared experience. Shank still enjoys driving down the dirt roads and off the beaten paths of the American Southwest, and to hear him speak of it, he wouldn't trade in his Jeep for anything in the world. Watch his story unfold in the eight-minute video clip above to see what an enduring icon looks like. Chrysler uses Super Bowl spots to honor troops, farmers
Sun, 03 Feb 2013How do you follow up such revered and successful ads as Chrysler's last two Super Bowl commercials? Imported from Detroit and Halftime in America should be given credit for giving the automaker's public perception a complete overhaul after its rescue from the brink with taxpayer money. What next, then?
We just found out during Super Bowl XLVII. This year Chrysler went with two commercials, one for Jeep and the other Ram. The two-minute-long Jeep commercial, called Whole Again, is narrated by Oprah Winfrey and presented as an open letter to the service men and women of America, simply expressing admiration for what they do - poignant message coming from a company whose history is so entwined with that of the military's.
The Ram commercial, called Farmer, honors the agricultural backbone of this country. Its soundtrack is a speech entitled "So God Made a Farmer" given by the famous radio broadcaster Paul Harvey, which plays over a slideshow of original photography commissioned by Ram. The images, of course, focus on farming and the people who do it for a living, and there's a few Ram trucks in there, as well.
Consumer Reports digs Mazda3, disses Jeep Cherokee
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has just rendered its verdict on two of the more important cars to launch this year - the Mazda3 and the Jeep Cherokee. Considering the value a "Recommended" rating carries with the public and the viciously competitive markets these two cars compete in, Consumer Reports' view could have some impact on their initial success.
For Mazda, that's a good thing. CR spoke quite highly of the Zoom-Zoom brand's compact sedan and hatch, testing both models, and citing the excellent fuel economy and snickety-snack manual shifter as high points. Downsides to the 3 included a ride that is agile but "nervous," a bit too much noise and a cramped back seat. Still, the 3 was good enough to earn its place in the ranks of the "Recommended."
The Jeep didn't fare quite so well, with CR calling the polarizing CUV "half-baked." Although both engines were tested, the magazine called the 2.4-liter four-pot underpowered and its nine-speed automatic unrefined and unresponsive. That's particularly damning, considering the 9AT's role in future Chrysler products, including the extremely important 200. Overall, the Cherokee missed out on the coveted "Recommended" rating.
