1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer "Wagonmaster" You're looking at a clean, well-documented, well-kept 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer in excellent condition with no rust and low original mileage. Vehicle History With only two owners since 1989, this Jeep has spent nearly its entire life of 25 years in the state of Florida. It was delivered to Royal Jeep-Eagle in Fern Park, FL as new in May 1989, then traded to Winter Park Motorcars on Winter Park, FL in 1999 with only 74,122 miles. From there, the vehicle was acquired by the world-famous Wagonmaster of Kerrville, TX and underwent an extensive renewal process (for details on the Wagonmaster visit the attached link - www.wagonmaster.com - and checkout how much these Jeeps are valued at). The vehicle was sold by Wagonmaster to its new owner and returned to Tallahasse, FL in August 1999. Since the original Wagonmaster restoration in 1999, the Jeep has only been driven 8,000 and has been well-cared for by its previous owner. Vehicle Condition The body is in perfect condition with no dents and no rust. The wood/vinyl paneling and trim is perfect as well - I cannot find one scratch, rip, or tear on the wood at all. If you follow these vehicles, you will know that it is next to impossible to a Wagoneer without faded any wood paneling, and replacement vinyl is either very expensive, hard to find, or not as good as the original. The paint appears to be mostly original with some slight fading on the clearcoat from the Florida (hardly noticeable as you can see in the photos) on the roof and fenders. On the inside, the leather seats are all in good condition with no stains or rips. The rear cargo cover, which seems to be mssing on most other Wagoneers on the market, is also present. All the power windows and locks work as they should. The engine is the original Jeep/AMC 360V8 coupled with its 3-speed "Torqueflight/727" transmission. The carburetor has also been recently rebuilt and runs beautifully without any hesitation. The previous owner recently installed a new set of Cooper Trendsetter whitewall tires all around, which have only 800 miles on them, and a new set of rear shocks. There were many other additional parts and upgrades added (I have a 2 inch stack of invoices from the previous owner that details other recent work). Documentation Along with the attached photos I am attaching an independent Carchex inspection report that I ordered prior to purchasing this vehicle (The Jeep's clean Carfax history report is also available for your review). I am also attaching the original new vehicle inspection and delivery sheet, as well as, the original odometer declaration card and starting instructions from Wagonmaster The vehicle is sold in as-is condition and is being sold locally - so I reserve the right to end the bid at any time. The Jeep is available for inspection locally and I'd be happy to answer any additional questions (best I can) or provide additional photos. These Jeeps are becoming harder to find especially in great condition as this one. In 2015, it is expected that Jeep will relauch the "Wagoneer" nameplate - so you can expect the value and demand for these Jeep to soar. You can buy this as an investment, as a solid base for restoring/customizing, use as your daily driver - you will get many waves and smiles along the way! Bid with confidence - good luck!

Jeep sets all-time sales record in 2012
Wed, 09 Jan 2013Last year was good to Jeep. Chrysler has announced its trail-rated brand set an all-time global sales record in 2012 by moving 701,626 units. That number easily surpasses the previous record set in 1999 when Jeep sold 675,494 models. All told, the brand saw a 19-percent sales increase worldwide over 2011, and much of that swell can be traced directly to the Wrangler. While the Grand Cherokee led Jeep sales, the Wrangler posted record numbers both globally and within the US, moving 194,142 and 141,669 units in each market, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Compass beat its previous global sales record with 103,321 units rolling off of dealer lots. In the US, Jeep sold 62,010 Patriot units, breaking that model's previous record as well. Jeep's impressive performance in 2012 marks the second year in a row the brand has seen double-digit percentage sales increases. Check out the full press release below.
FCA goes all-in on Jeep and Ram brands on cheap gas bet
Wed, Jan 27 2016It's no surprise that as SUV and truck sales remain strong in the wake of unusually cheap gas, Jeep and Ram sales are taking off. What is a surprise is that FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne thinks that cheap gas will be a "permanent condition," and feels strongly enough about it to change up North American manufacturing plans. Jeep appears to be the biggest beneficiary of the product realignment. In addition to increasing the sales estimates for the brand worldwide upwards to 2 million units a year by 2018, the brand will get a flood of investment for new product and powertrains. Consider the Wrangler Pickup to be part of the salvo, as well as the Grand Wagoneer three-row announced in 2014 as part of the original five-year plan. The Wrangler four-door will get at least two new powertrains, a diesel and mild hybrid version, in its next generation. That mild hybrid powertrain may utilize a 48-volt electrical system like the one that's being developed by Delphi and Bosch – which the suppliers think will be worth a 10 to 15 percent fuel economy gain at a minimum. Down the road, in the 2020s, the Wrangler could adopt a full hybrid system. The diesel powertrain is planned for 2019 or 2020. The Ram 1500 is also pegged to receive a mild hybrid system, again potentially based on 48-volt architecture, sometime after 2020. Lastly, Jeep and Ram will take over some of the production capacity of existing plants. The Sterling Heights, MI, plant that builds the Chrysler 200 will now build the Ram 1500; the Belvidere, IL, facility that produces the Dodge Dart will take over Cherokee output; the big Jeep facility in Toledo, OH, will be used for increased Wrangler demand. In 2015, according to FCA's numbers, car and van demand went down by 10 percent, but SUV demand went up 8 percent and truck demand 2 percent. Considering that these are high-margin vehicles, FCA can't ignore the math. FCA also won't build any new factories to supplement production to meet demand, but instead are reshuffling production priorities. Think of it this way: FCA is gambling on cheap gas being a permanent part of our lives, at least into the 2020s. By doubling down on SUVs and trucks, the company stands to win big, unless a spike in gas prices changes the landscape. FCA isn't talking about a Plan B, so they're all in. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
Chrysler defies NHTSA, says it won't recall 2.7M Jeep Grand Cherokee, Liberty models
Wed, 05 Jun 2013Facing a possible recall totaling around 2.7 million of its most popular SUVs, Chrysler remains insistent that the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty are safe vehicles. This comes on the heels of a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for these two models due to fuel tanks mounted behind the rear axle, which could possibly be ruptured during severe rear-end collisions, leading to an increased risk of fire. In response to the allegations, Chrysler says that it does not agree with NHTSA nor does it plan on recalling either vehicle.
Chrysler said both SUVs "met and exceeded" the requirements for fuel-system integrity, and cooperated fully with NHTSA since the investigation was opened in 2010. While 15 deaths and 46 injuries have been reported from fires caused by rear-end collisions on these models, Chrysler is claiming that the vast majority of incidents cited by NHTSA were "high-energy crashes," including one where a stopped Grand Cherokee was rear-ended by a tractor trailer going 65 miles per hour.
The automaker wraps up by saying "NHTSA seems to be holding Chrysler Group to a new standard for fuel tank integrity that does not exist now and did not exist when the Jeep vehicles were manufactured." Scroll down for Chrysler's official response to NHTSA, but we're pretty sure this isn't the last we've heard on this issue.
