1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Solid Southern Vehicle 5 Speed Conversion on 2040-cars
Ringgold, Georgia, United States
|
Up for sale is a 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It is a good solid foundation for a really neat Wagoneer. There has been some money spent on the drivetrain and other mods to make it unique. I will be highlighting this Jeep in three main paragraphs. They are Exterior, Interior and Drivetrain. If I happen to leave anything out please use the contact information I have listed to ask. Exterior: The body has seen one repaint since factory. The sand metallic paint code was used, it is very crisp and cleans up well. There is no rust in the frame or in the body itself. Except for one place in the rear quarter on the passenger side. I have it pictured, it is not through and is easily repairable. The wood grain is in very good shape still. The bumpers and all other trim are original. While not perfect they shine up very well. All the glass is still clean. I will rate the body at a modest 8 on a 1-10 scale. I think with a little more TLC it could be a 9! Interior: It is all original on the interior. The carpet and headliner are both showing wear. The front seats, mostly the bottom areas have a good bit of cracking. The rear seat is very nice. The dash is not all cracked up but does have some bowing on one end. I will try and display everything on the interior fairly. It could use some attention or would be probably passable if used for camping/4 wheeling/etc. The power windows work. The power locks work. The air conditioning even still works and is Ice cold. I will rate the interior at a 7 on a 1-10 scale. Drivetrain: My Favorite part. The 360 engine runs strong and always cranks with zero issues. It holds 25 psi of oil pressure at hot idle and goes up to 50+ while driving. The previous owner has a added a aluminum intake, 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor, Performance camshaft, Long tube headers, Flowmaster and a high flow cat. Along with the engine upgrades they have a added a Dodge 5 Speed Manual transmission with hydraulic clutch system. It shifts awesome and was set up right. The 4 wheel drive system still functions correctly. The Dayton A/t Tires are all over 75% tread. With the upgrades its a awesome sleeper/cruiser/driver. In Closing: This is a all there Grand Wagoneer. These are getting harder to find. The upgrades that have been done make it even more unique and hard to compare to others. I have set a fair reserve price. This vehicle could not be duplicated for what I would take for it. I have the right to end this auction at any time. As always this Jeep is being sold as is/ where is. I have a clean title in hand along with a perfect Carfax. Thanks for looking and God Bless! Call me at 423-413-4478 with any Questions. My name is Josh. |

Jeep’s latest special edition tries to give the all-American Wrangler European appeal
Tue, May 16 2017Jeep has a long history in Europe, starting with GIs bouncing across the continent kicking Nazi ass and much later being a conspicuously American status symbol. It's been a varied existence, to be sure. And there have been a lot of Euro-only editions aimed at Continental tastes, like the Wrangler Polar and the Black Edition II. So this Mopar One Package version of the Wrangler Rubicon, which Jeep showed off at the Geneva show but was just showcased at the "Euro Festival" in Saint-Tropez, wasn't born in a vacuum. It really underlines the continuing appeal in Europe for stereotypically American things. "Euro Festival", after all, is a Harley-Davidson gathering. Harleys are expensive, conspicuous status symbols in Europe – and so is a Wrangler. The Mopar One Package is only available on the Rubicon, and is a little unusual in that it's more function-oriented than the normally cosmetic Euro packages. It has a 2-inch lift kit, larger 32-inch tires, a steering stabilizer, and accessory fenders. Jeep says this is the first time it's been able to offer factory-installed accessories in Europe, so now our friends over there can enjoy the highly addictive experience of ticking off boxes to customize a Wrangler. One thing the Euro Rubicon gets that we can't, which might make American Jeepers a little jealous, is the 2.8-liter CRD diesel engine. That's a VM Motori unit, similar to what was available over here in the Jeep Liberty for a hot minute. Euro Jeeps have used variants of this engine for years. If you want an off-road diesel comparable to the Euro Rubicon, you either have to move to the Euro Zone or buy a new Chevy Colorado ZR2 – which we just drove, by the way. No word on how much the Mopar One Package will set buyers back. It's likely that this is also just a beachhead for more factory customs from Mopar, not just in the Jeep world. It'll be interesting to see how Europe responds. Related Video: Aftermarket Jeep SUV Off-Road Vehicles
Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?
Sun, Jul 9 2023The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric. Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands. If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla. Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor. Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have: Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.
Jeep's 75th Anniversary Wrangler Salute rolls down the line
Fri, Jul 15 2016UPDATE: The commemorative 75th Anniversary Jeep Wrangler rolled down the assembly line in Toledo, Ohio today. With its roll bar, doors, and rear seat removed, it really does pay fitting tribute to the classic Willy military models of the past. The 419 area code stenciled on the bumper and date on the hood look period appropriate. Well done, Jeep. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. It's difficult to pinpoint exactly when the Jeep Wrangler was born, but the automaker claims the legendary off-roader as we know it today was officially created in 1941. On July 15th of that year, the US Government awarded Willys-Overland with a contract to build the Willys MB, which quickly got the nickname "jeep". To commemorate its 75th anniversary, Jeep has created a WWII-themed Wrangler that pays homage to the Willys MB. The gorgeous concept most likely won't see the road, which is a shame as the rugged one-off yanks at the heartstrings of truck enthusiasts and historians alike. Based on of the current Wrangler Sport, the olive-drab Wrangler 75th Salute concept imitates the original Willys MB to the tee. The concept has no B-pillars, no doors, no roll bars and honors the "function over form" styling of the original military vehicle. The concept rides on 16-inch steel wheels that are wrapped in 32-inch non-directional tires and features vintage-looking hood latches, steel front and rear bumpers with tow hooks, and low back canvas seats. The Salute concept will be built on the same assembly line in Toledo, OH that has produced the Wrangler for decades. In addition to putting out an image of the concept, Jeep also touched on the rich history of the original Willys MB, which you can read below. Related Video: In July 1940, the U.S. military informed automakers that it was looking for a "light reconnaissance vehicle" to replace the Army's motorcycle and modified Ford Model-T vehicles. The Army invited 135 manufacturers to bid on production and developed a lengthy specification list for the vehicle, including a 600-lb. load capacity, wheelbase less than 75 inches, height less than 36 inches, smooth-running engine from 3 to 50 miles per hour, rectangular-shaped body, four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case, fold-down windshield, three bucket seats, blackout and driving lights and a gross vehicle weight below 1,300 lbs.
