1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Base Sport Utility 4-door 5.9l on 2040-cars
Spring Lake, New Jersey, United States
1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The body color is very rare, and was a factory special order, in 'juniper green', see the dealer window sticker photo. It has been repainted once with a 2 stage basecoat/clear coat paint. The interior is in beautiful. original condition, never abused and reflects the care of ownership this true classic Jeep has been given. The brakes have just been overhauled this week. I added rebuilt calipers, new rotors and front pads, all new rubber hydraulic hoses front and rear, new rear drums, new auto adjusters, new rear shoes and a full rear brakes overhaul kit including all new springs, etc. The engine is running nicely. New tires were added this winter. A new muffler was put on this week, the tailpipe did not need changing but the hangers and clamps were replaced with new. The feed hose to the catalytic converter was replaced as a routine replacement, and the system was checked front to back. A new skid plate below the gas tank was installed this winter. I did not drive it in the winter, only had specific work performed. A frame repair section adjacent to the skid plate, from Team Grand Wagoneer was also added at the same time, and 4 new shocks. New vinyl siding and body moldings were also added while it was in for fresh painting. The pictures speak for themselves. I think you will agree that this is a real beauty and now a true classic. It was my first drive of spring today, as I drove around our shore town to take photos for this auction. I was amazed how many people came up to talk with me and admire the Wagoneer. These full sized Jeeps are very popular with people of all ages. We live in New Jersey, about an hour and a half south of New York City. I will assist with shipping if need be, and we are an hours drive to the seaport of Elizabeth, NJ. I will accommodate with delivering it there if need be, Good luck in bidding to be the proud new owner. |

Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.

2014 Jeep Cherokee marketing launches with 'Built Free' commercial
Mon, 28 Oct 2013Now that the 2014 Cherokee is finally on its way to dealerships, Jeep is starting its marketing blitz for its new crossover, beginning with this 60-second TV spot, called Built Free, that premieres today. Set to a Bob Dylan recording, the ad spot discusses something we can all relate to - the feeling of being too busy and too cooped up with everyday tasks to really get out there and explore the world. But as Jeep says in the commercial, "You're still here. And you're still you. The horizons haven't gone anywhere."
Autoblog spoke to Kim Adams-House, head of marketing for the Jeep brand, who explained that this Built Free spot is "an anthemic piece" that "sparks the conversation" for the new Cherokee. As you'll notice, none of the new Jeep's features - its off-road systems, nine-speed automatic transmission, etc. - are mentioned in the ad, but Adams-House says that future marketing "will speak to more" of the CUV's highlights. Following this 60-second spot, 30-second commercials will launch that talk about some of the specific product features.
When asked if the Built Free campaign will include any throwbacks to the original Cherokee, Adams-House told Autoblog that while "we love that vehicle," the new spots are intended to carve out "a unique space for Cherokee in our product portfolio and marketplace." On that same note, don't expect any other Jeep vehicles to get the Built Free treatment. Adams-House said that while this ad "does resonate overall with the brand," it is solely intended to promote the new Cherokee.
