For sale is my 1988 Jeep Wagoneer. Just to be clear, the title is labeled as rebuilt/salvage for an unknown reason. I'm not aware of any accident, etc. Car starts and runs/drives great. 4WD hi and low work, as well as all gauges, power windows, lights, and A/C. Mileage on the vehicle is 153,000 but the engine was replaced at around 80,000 miles by the previous owner. The transmission was also rebuilt in 2005 at 112,000 miles. Have records to prove it.

Good:
-4" Skyjacker lift kit with new leaf springs, shocks, steering stabilizer, drop pitman arm, and also new steering box.
-New Mickey Thompson rims with 31x10.5" BF Goodrich All terrains with less than 2000 miles on them
-Edelbrock intake with 600cfm 4 barrel carb, new fuel pump, power steering pump, new HEI distributor with wires and plugs, new optima battery
-Comes with Howell TBI kit, car is already wired for installation(including electric fuel pump mounted to frame rail). Had it installed but preferred carb.
-Rhino grill conversion
-Sound system with 4 new speaker with amp and sub
-No rust on body or frame
-Rear tailgate glass rolls up and down fine
-Has trailer hitch and wiring
-A/C and heat both work
-electric sunroof works, doesn't leak.
-Front seats professionally recovered recently
-Headliner replaced within last year
-New exhaust from Y-pipe back

Bad:
-Has noticeable exhaust leak from the right manifold from when I removed emissions equipment.
-The following do not work: cruise control, rear window defroster
-Rear windows and power door locks slow to come up
-Original paint color(blue) visible in door jambs and under hood areas
-Transmission slow to engage when cold. Fine after the car has warmed up.

That's all I can think of right now. If you have any questions feel free to ask. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours at auction close through paypal. Being sold as is with no warranty. Cash only.

Next Jeep Wrangler to get hybrid option?

Wed, Jan 21 2015

This may the year a Jeep hybrid is officially announced. Really. The Chrysler division may finally be making plans for its first gas-electric powertrain to help boost the group's fuel economy, says UK's Auto Express, citing Mike Manley, CEO of FCA's Jeep division. The guinea pig of sorts may be the Wrangler, which moved almost a quarter-million units in the US last year. The Wrangler could get a hybrid drivetrain by the 2017 model year, as Jeep executives look to maintain the model's feel and torque while boosting its fuel economy. The Wrangler gets a pretty paltry 18 miles per gallon combined out of its six-cylinder mill, so the bar's set pretty low. Of course, we've heard this talk before. In late 2013, Chrysler Asia-Pacific product planning manager Steve Bartoli told Australia's Drive that a Jeep hybrid was pretty much inevitable, though not much has been mentioned since. FCA could use all the help it can get in the fuel economy department. The group brought up the rear among automakers when it came to fuel efficiency, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said in its EPA Trends report released last October. The FCA models combined for a 21.1 miles per gallon average for the 2014 model year, compared to the 24.2 mpg overall industry average. The group's only electric vehicle in the US is the low-volume Fiat 500e, though the company may start selling a plug-in hybrid version of its Chrysler Town & Country by the end of the year. FCA believes thieves aren't getting into Jeeps with laptops

Mon, Jul 11 2016

Last week, we reported on an incident where thieves stole a 2010 Jeep Wrangler from an owner's driveway in Houston, TX with nothing but a laptop. While the security footage made it seem like the perpetrator hacked into the vehicle, we had a conversation with FCA's senior manager of security architecture Titus Melnyk who set the record straight. According to Melnyk, the thief in the video isn't using the laptop to get into the vehicle, but rather as a means of coding a blank key fob and then using that fob to get into the Jeep. According to Melnyk, the suspects have gained access to a key programming tool, which allows them to pair blank key fobs to FCA vehicles. With the key fob now coded, the suspects can get into the vehicle and drive away. The thieves, believes Melnyk, have acquired the programming tool through a dishonest dealership or locksmith. Since the suspects are using a process designed to be used (honestly) by dealers, FCA doesn't consider this to be hacking and believes that there are no security flaws in the vehicles. How are the thieves getting key fobs? While Melnyk believes it is possible to recode an existing key fob, he points out that it's much easier to purchase a blank key fob on Ebay for less than $25. FCA is working closely with the Houston Police Department to apprehend the suspects. Related Video: Jeep Technology SUV Videos viral video hacking thieves

China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.
