1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with approximately 148,000 miles.  I purchased this Jeep originally from Leon Miller with Wagonmaster.  It had 50 something thousand miles on it. Well cared for Jeep ! Engine has been rebuilt. Seats have been upholstered using leather & vinyl for cording. New carpet. New floor mats. New headliner. AC has just been fixed to include new compressor and other parts as needed.  New tires. Wheels reconditioned a few years back. Alpine radio with premium speaker upgrade. I do have the old radio - can not tell you if it still works 100% or not. Rear compartment has a roll out shade. A few years back, we put another coat of paint on the vehicle.

The doors locks are not smooth to open. You stick the key in and turn to open, then push in the latch. It doesn't pop right up when you turn the key to open. 2 front windows work. 2 rear windows need new flex racks installed (I believe). I have the windows fixed in the closed position. The power mirrors do not work. Could be contacts that need cleaning or a new switch.  Would have to be diagnosed by a shop.  The body molding trim and vinyl are not in perfect condition but look good.  Please consider all pictures as part of the description.

I'm very particular about my vehicles and keep them in good condition. As you can see from the photos, this Jeep is in good condition. People constantly approach us in parking lots wanting to look & talk, take pictures.

I would encourage all interested bidders to come take a first hand look at the vehicle. If you are from out of town, I will be happy to take the Jeep to a shop of your choice to do an inspection.  You will have to make arrangements to prepay for the inspection with the shop first.

Do not bid on this vehicle if you do not plan to purchase.

I will be happy to answer any questions.

The vehicle is being sold "as-is".  The vehicle is listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction.

Jeep Twitter account hacked, bad language, poor grammar and some hilarity ensue

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Just a day after Burger King's Twitter account was compromised by "unauthorized users," Jeep's social media feed has been similarly hacked. Both instances of digital incursion share some similarities - the BK hackers changed the company's logo for McDonald's familiar golden arches, saying a sale had occurred, while the Jeep miscreants have replaced Jeep's branding with that of General Motors property Cadillac.
The resulting tweets from the damaged Jeep account have been a pretty brutal, to put it bluntly. Most of the content coming from the hacked account is unpublishable here, using language that is peppered with racial epithets, and poorly worded "shout outs."
In addition to the defamatory tweets themselves, the hackers have significantly altered the layout of the page. Jeep's header image now features a picture of the Cadillac ATS to go along with the Wreath and Crest, some language calling out that car as winning the 2013 North American Car of the Year award, and this gem: "The official Twitter handle for the Jeep(R) - Just Empty Every Pocket, Sold To Cadillac =[" Also, perhaps in an ode to yesterday's Burger King heist, the background image for the page now features a McDonald's-themed donk. The devil's in the details, we guess.

2015 Jeep Renegade brings the cute

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

The jig is up, the noose is out, we finally found it: the Renegade that Jeep has made, retrieved for a bounty.
Okay, enough of that. Meet the Renegade - Jeep's cute little compact crossover that makes its official debut here at the Geneva Motor Show. We recently brought you a massive Deep Dive into what makes the Renegade tick, and we're now getting our first live look at the tiny Jeep, live from its coming out party in Switzerland.
With the exception of associate editor Jonathon Ramsey, who doesn't know what he's talking about, we at Autoblog are kind of smitten with the little Jeep - it's a really unique package, featuring details that really make it kind of special (notice that jerry can pattern in the taillights, for example). Jeep will offer the Renegade with either a 1.4-liter turbo-four (from the Fiat 500L) or a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four (from the Dodge Dart), with either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic. There will even be a Trailhawk version with four-wheel drive - properly trail-rated, to boot. The Renegade also features a nifty new My Sky removable roof panel system, giving this little cutie sort of a baby Wrangler feel.

Jeep Wrangler's shift to aluminum could see production leave Toledo

Mon, 06 Oct 2014

The Jeep Wrangler may be a timeless design, but sooner or later, time will run out and Chrysler will have to replace it with a newer model more friendly towards the earth it's designed to traverse. That will, it seems, mean a shift to aluminum construction (whether just for the body or for the entire structure) - but what will that mean for the Wrangler's long-time home of Toledo, OH?
According to the latest pronouncements from Fiat Chrysler chief Sergio Marchionne, the shift to an aluminum Wrangler would likely mean moving production out of Toledo. "If the solution is aluminum," Marchionne told Automotive News, "then I think unfortunately Toledo is the wrong place, the wrong setup to try and build a Wrangler, because it requires a complete reconfiguring of the assets that would be cost-prohibitive."
Marchionne also indicated that, were Wrangler production to move elsewhere, it would find another line to take its place in Ohio. "One of the thing that we are dealing with now is what else we do with Toledo that fulfills our commitment to the city and to Ohio. I don't have a doubt that there will be zero impact on head count and employment levels and anything else." Jeep has built the Wrangler in Toledo since World War II, with the exception of six years starting in 1986 when it was built in Brampton, Ontario. The complex dates back to 1910 and currently produces the Wrangler and Cherokee. Past products have included the Wagoneer and Commanche as well as the Dodge Dakota and Nitro.
