Offered for sale is our astonishingly original 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that has accrued a mere 77,990 original miles from new during its extraordinarily well-cared-for life. This Wagoneer was "renewed" by the Wagonmaster ,in Kerr, Tx, prior to purchase in 2007.  Please visit wagonmaster.com to read about the "renewal" process. Finished in its factory correct Black Cherry over Cordovan interior, the car is exceptionally original and well preserved, making this an incredible opportunity to acquire a truly collectible American icon. “Best of the Breed” example. We were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to purchase this Jeep from its original owner in 2007. For the last 7 years this Jeep has seen only occasional use, always garaged and carefully maintained.  It has been professionally serviced regularly throughout its life and recently received a full engine, suspension and transmission service. This is an absolutely remarkable original Grand Wagoneer that should command the attention of any serious collector or enthusiast.

This spectacular Grand Wagoneer has certainly stood the test of time. The paint retains incredible depth and luster, showing only the most negligible of imperfections, and the body exhibits perfect panel fit and consistency throughout. This car has been consistently detailed with fastidious care and attention. Every aspect of the car shows this attention to detail. The chrome, the glass, and the rubber are all in excellent original condition and the original wheels are nearly flawless, wrapped in new tires. The completely original interior is absolutely beautiful. The original seats are nearly brand new, the carpets have been incredibly well preserved, the headliner is like new, the dash is pristine without cracking, fading, or warping, and the instruments and trim are excellent. The car has the original radio. It is obvious that this Jeep has been under the proud and careful ownership of a true Wagoneer enthusiast.

After twenty-seven careful years on the road this Grand Wagoneer is in exceptional mechanical order.  The engine is incredibly strong with even compression and the 3-speed gearbox is without fault.  The car drives straight and true, and brakes and handling are all as they should be. As previously mentioned, the Jeep has gone through a recent comprehensive service and has benefited from years of preventive maintenance and care irregardless of cost. The 4WD system was also serviced and had its fluids replaced. Consequently, the ride quality and performance are what one would expect from an extremely well-maintained, 77,800 original mile car.

The Wagoneer had one of the longest production runs in US history, spanning 28 years under license of three different manufacturers. Chrysler bought the rights to Jeep in 1987 and set about making a few minor changes to the Wagoneer, refining the exterior and addressing some known faults of the car, prompting new branding as the “Grand” Wagoneer. The 1987 plus model year Grand Wagoneers, received improved wood siding, modernized aluminum wheels and two stage base coat/clear coat paint finish.  These examples are known as “the best of the breed”, not because of Chrysler’s marketing, but their high production quality, classic styling and strong mechanicals have caused Jeep enthusiasts to bestow them with that honor.

This is an excellent opportunity to acquire what is arguably one of the finest original examples of a quickly appreciating icon. Finding them in this condition, especially unrestored, is becoming virtually impossible, driving values to levels that were never expected and yet completely understandable from a collector’s perspective. Whether this stellar example is to be used as a more frequent driver or as a fun alternative asset in a serious collection, if you’re in the market for an exceptional Grand Wagoneer, it deserves your serious consideration.

We want this car to go to great home and would be happy to further discuss it and answer any questions, so please feel free to email us deaconkelley@me.com or call us at 678-848-7182.  The car has a small tear in the woodgrain on the drivers door.  About 1 inch long

Mopar teases four of 'nearly 20' SEMA Show concepts

Fri, Oct 23 2015

Yesterday it was Chevrolet. Today, Mopar has dropped some SEMA knowledge, releasing a quartet of teaser images that give us some indication of what kind of cars, trucks, and crossovers Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram will be showing in Las Vegas. Like Chevy, Mopar's concepts utilize both production and concept accessories, although Fiat Chrysler has gone a bit more indepth on at least one of its concepts. Immediately, the most tantalizing teaser is the one shown above. Yes, that's the back of a Challenger, and aside from the bright orange accents on the gray body, you should take notice of the badge mounted on the spoiler – yes, that says "GT AWD." To be honest, such a vehicle wouldn't be a huge shock, as both the Challenger's LX platform-mates, the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300, are offered with all-wheel-drive options. Still, adding such a vehicle to the production cycle would give Dodge a leg up on the rear-drive only Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. Aside from that concept, FCA has also released teasers of a Ram-based concept, a 300-based concept, and what we're guessing is a Fiat 500X. We can't wait to see what the actual Fiat concept has to do with kiteboarding. As for the 300 and Ram, there's not a lot of hints on what sort of styling details they'll contain. The Chrysler has additional LED accents and what we're guessing is matte blue paint, while the Ram is based on a Hemi-powered 1500 with Rebel styling cues. This is just a very tiny sample of Mopar's final SEMA roster, which include "hundreds" of parts. There should also be a total of 20 vehicles covering all four former Chrysler Group brands, as well as Fiat. Naturally, we'll have plenty to report on each vehicle once the SEMA show kicks off in the next couple weeks.

Jeep hiring 1,000 part-time workers in Toledo on Wrangler, Cherokee demand

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

The new Jeep Cherokee has been quite a success for Chrysler, but its factory workers are getting tired. The automaker has agreed to hire up to 1,000 part-time, temporary employees at its Toledo Assembly Complex where the CUV and Wrangler are built. It will allow the company to keep Jeep production moving, while giving laborers a break.
According to plant manager Chuck Padden in the Toledo Blade, full-time workers are regularly taking on 60 hours a week, and it's beginning to wear on them. "To get them more time off is important to us, to make sure they're refreshed, and can work safely," said Padden.
Chrysler has already hired 380 temporary, part-time workers for the plant, and 50 have been converted to full-time employees. The company is in the process of interviewing the rest of the new hires now and plans to have all 1,000 in place by the summer. They will work between 10 and 30 hours a week mostly on weekends for $15.78 per hour with limited benefits. The temporary positions will last "as long as demand continues for the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Cherokee," said Jodi Tinson, Chrysler spokesperson for manufacturing and labor communications, to Autoblog in an email.

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
