New 3" Suspension Lift and 31" Firestone A/Ts Here is an absolutely drop dead gorgeous 1983 Jeep Wagoneer Limited in very original condition inside and out. This Jeep is a lifelong Reno, Nevada truck it shows in this rare example. This is one of the neatest Wagoneers's I have ever seen and has been extremely well preserved and always garaged. To let you know the overall great quality of this Jeep, it was sold to the most recent owner in 2003 by the world renowned leader in Wagoneers, The Wagonmasters out of Texas. The previous owner only put about 17,000 miles on it in 10 years! The Jeep has mostly original paint, original decals, and beautiful original interior. The mileage is documented by the CARFAX as 77,000 original miles. Don't miss your chance to own one of the most original Wagoneers around...BID NOW!! The following is a list of options as this Jeep is currently equipped: -Original 360ci 5.9L V8 -3 Speed Automatic Transmission -Four Wheel Drive -Power Windows -Power Locks -Dual Power Seats -Power Rear Window -Cruise Control -Ice Cold A/C -Rough Country 3" Suspension Lift Kit -Beautifully Polished Original 15" Jeep Wheels -Brand New 31" Firestone All Terrain Tires -All Original Deluxe Leather Interior The body on the Jeep is totally solid and rust free. I have inspected the body and cannot find a single spot of rust or repair patches whatsoever. The paint on the car is mostly original and finished in gorgeous and rare Deep Maroon. As expected the paint is 30 years old and is going to show some light ware and thin spots due to waxing washing, and your average parking lot chips and light scratches, but remember, a Jeep is only original once so every attempt has been made to preserve the originality of this jeep and not repaint panels. The rubber seals are all in very nice shape and the jeep seals up perfect. The Jeep just received a brand new Rough Country 3" Suspension lift. This included all 4 new leaf springs, new shocks, and was just re-aligned. The original 15" aluminum wheels were sent out stripped and high polished. The new Firestone tires look awesome on the truck and have no clearance or rubbing issues. The interior is in great shape all around. The original saddle leather seats are all in very good shape and look great. The headliner and visors were just beautifully redone and look excellent. All dials and controls function as they should and are illuminated at night. The dashboard is in excellent shape with no cracks. Original carpet is excellent with no rips or ware. All door panels and wood grain are excellent. The original cassette player sounds great with all 4 speakers have been replaced with new high end components. Mechanically, this Wagoneer runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts quite easily. The 5.9L engine has been fully tuned up with oil change and runs like a top! The 4x4 system functions perfectly. The engine compartment was fully detailed and cleaned. It is ALL ORIGINAL under the hood, and I didn't want to take away from the originality by doing any painting or unnecessary upgrades. The jeep is tight as a drum and doesn't leak a drop of anything. It also has its factory jacking equipment. The jeep just had nearly $5500 worth of work done including completely overhauled power steering system, all new motor and trans mounts and shocks, full brake system overhaul (pads, wheel cylinders, power flush), new manifold gaskets, new exhaust complete cooling system overhaul (radiator, water pump, hoses, fan clutch, thermostat), all fluids changed, and full tune up including coil and new ignition switch, and to finish it off a fresh rebuild on the carburator! All in all, this is one of the cleanest and most original Jeeps that I have had the privilege of being associated with. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners. This Grand Wagoneer is a fantastic example and will be the envy of any true Jeep lover! Any further questions please call Jon at 480-703-2337. The car is located in Sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. NHTSA investigating why Jeep recall fix is taking so long
Mon, 07 Jul 2014Jeep's saga with the National Traffic Safety Administration and the voluntary campaign to repair 1.56 million vehicles for allegedly unsafe trailer hitches, is getting yet another chapter. The controversy appeared to finally be over in January when the automaker found a supplier for the replacement parts. Nothing is ever that easy, though, and the government regulator is now requesting documents from the company to clarify why the repairs are taking so long to begin.
Jeep parent company Chrysler has until July 16 to submit documents and answers to NHTSA explaining the situation. The regulator claims that despite its compromise to inspect and repair the models with improper hitches in June 2013, Chrysler didn't find a part supplier until December and didn't order the replacements until January. The government agency believes that the first components weren't manufactured until May of this year and vehicles may not actually be repaired until as late as August. According to the report, if the Chrysler doesn't supply what NHTSA is asking for, the agency could "take additional appropriate action as warranted."
Throughout this entire process, Chrysler has asserted that the vehicles met the applicable crash test standards of the time, and it has kept NHTSA abreast of the repair activity. In a recently released statement it said that the regulator analyzed eight rear impact reconstruction tests and found the replacement hitch to be safe. To keep up with the high demand for replacements, Chrysler is working with multiple suppliers, and they are running three shifts, six days a week to get the parts ready as soon as possible.
Jeep Wrangler Red Rock concept brings Moab to SEMA
Wed, Nov 4 2015Among the concepts that FCA is showcasing at SEMA this year, the Jeep Wrangler Red Rock concept has been decked out with accessories from both the Mopar and Jeep catalogs. The concept is based on the existing Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock edition, but has been taken even further in for this show truck. It pays tribute to the Red Rock 4-Wheelers club and the Easter Jeep Safari it hosts every year in Moab, UT. The Red Rock concept rides on a 2-inch lift kit with 17-inch beadlock wheels shod with 35-inch all-terrain tires. It also has differential covers, a reinforced swing gate and wheel mount, a power winch, LED headlamps and fog lights, and an onboard CB radio. To help it crawl those rocks, it boasts electronic locking differentials, a Rock-Trac transfer case, and Dana 44 solid axles front and rear. Visually setting this concept apart are such special touches as a power-dome hood, red tow hooks front and rear, new rock rails, a color-keyed grille with low-gloss inserts, low-gloss bumpers, and of course the requisite special badging. Inside it's been done up in brown leather with silver accents and a special grab-handle plaque. This particular version will remain a showpiece only. So if you want to see it, you'll have to head to the show floor in Vegas this week. However Jeep is committed to undertaking a production run of 50 examples with many of the same special touches to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Easter Jeep Safari next year. 2014 Jeep Cherokee
Thu, 19 Sep 2013The Cherokee Is Dead. Long Live The Cherokee.
There are three sentences that, for this reviewer, define what needs to be conveyed about the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The first: it is very good.
Jeep spent 27 years building the Cherokee and its brand, from 1974 to 2001. Twelve years ago, the Cherokee nameplate rolled away into the distant hills and retirement, at least here in the NAFTA colonies, and it was replaced by a loaded word we knew as "Liberty."
