1986 CJ7 Crawler for sale. I am about to have two CJ7s in my driveway, and one has to go. I bought this one from the owner of Wild-side Motorsports in Naperville, IL - where it was built. It was built for the Badlands in Indiana and was the owners personal Crawler. I used it to get ice cream and go to the hardware store this summer, made some minor repairs, and now I am moving on to a new - bigger - Jeep project.
258 Clifford motor, 4-barrel double header, Flowmaster exhaust all the way back, high amp alternator, Dana 44 axles, 456 gears, 4-speed Chevy 3/4 ton trans, Detroit Lockers front and rear, new brakes front and rear, new drums and rotors, new wheel bearings, Tom Woods drive shafts front and rear, power steering, Y-spring over revolver shackles, new 35-14 x 15 radial tsl superswampers on turbine aluminum rims, new Mickey Thomson Baja trail claw on new turbine rim = spare, custom built full roll cage with nerf bars, original seats front and rear with seat belts, rhino lined floor with aluminum foot floor pads, OEM CJ7 doors with working vent windows, CB radio for trail use with weather channel, custom front and rear bumpers with swing out tire carrier, new shackles on bumpers, new paint, removable hard top and doors, removable tow bar. This Jeep is rock ready, runs and drives and sounds great. I added a new center console (radio ready) and replaced the windshield. I bought it for $6500.00 and I am willing to part with it at a loss to make room for my next Jeep. I have a clean title in hand and contact with the shop that built it for any upgrades the new owner wishes to make. The previous owner spent about 22K building it.

Jeep dealer buries WWII Willys GP in showroom floor
Tue, 04 Nov 2014The Willys MB Jeep earned icon status during World War II thanks to its ruggedness, simplicity and go-anywhere ability. Following the war, it didn't take long for the handy vehicles to be scooped up by the public, and a brand slowly grew around the vehicles that has continued to thrive. Fast-forward to present day, where it's not uncommon for auto dealers to try to grab some of the magic of yesteryear by displaying classic models to connect customers with their brands' proud histories. Now, a Canadian Chrysler Group dealer is taking that notion to the extreme by actually making a vintage WWII Jeep part of its foundation.
Bay King Chrysler in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, recently completed its new showroom, and the franchise really wanted to show its dedication to the Jeep brand. As dealer principal Jamie Richter tells Autoblog, the inspiration for the Jeep installation came from his brother, who became fascinated with a home that had a glass floor looking down into its wine cellar. The company already had the 1943 Willys MB to display, but it had originally planned to build a jungle gym around it for customers' kids. Now, the classic is literally in the floor as customers enter. Richter tells Autoblog that customer reaction so far has been "fantastic."
It's certainly a novel way to bring people into the showroom, and seemingly a nice nod not only to Jeep, but to the men and women who served in the war. If you want to see more about how the Jeep was actually installed and what it looks like, check out this video.
NHTSA closes book on Jeep 'trailer hitch' recall after all
Mon, 20 Jan 2014After much debating and hand-wringing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration now says it has "no reservations" with Chrysler's plan to recall certain Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models over concerns that their fuel tanks, which are located behind the rear axle, could rupture or leak in the event of a rear impact. The longstanding argument between the two entities saw Chrysler openly defy the Feds after a request to recall 2.7 million units back in June.
Chrysler's "voluntary campaign" will instead see it recall 1.56-million 1993-2004 model year Grand Cherokee SUVs, along with 2002-2007 Liberty models. Affected vehicles will get a trailer hitch installed free of charge, which Chrysler says will provide an additional degree of protection for the fuel tanks in the event of a crash. Jeeps with Mopar-branded hitches or hitches that were installed at the factory aren't affected by this recall.
Chrysler's argument throughout this battle has been that the Jeeps in question are no more susceptible to fires than comparable vehicles from the same time period, a position that NHTSA has seemingly arrived at as well. "Those vehicles performed at a rate similar to their peers. That is the keystone analysis as to whether something poses an unreasonable risk to safety," said outgoing NHTSA boss David Strickland during an interview with the The Associated Press.
Chrysler readying 20 Moparized vehicles for SEMA
Tue, 08 Oct 2013The Las Vegas Convention Center has plenty of space for aftermarket companies and automakers to show off their wares, and it looks like Chrysler is taking advantage of the spacious floor plan. At next month's SEMA Show, Chrysler will have a full 20 cars from its six brands decked out with Mopar gear.
As a hint of what is to come, Chrysler released a handful of teaser sketches showing glimpses of modified Jeep Cherokee, Ram 1500, Fiat 500L and Chrysler 300 concept vehicles. The automaker will also use the venue to show off a new line of Jeep Performance Parts offered by the all-new Mopar Off-Road Division. In addition to the images, Chrysler also issued a brief press release - posted below - breaking down some of the "industry-first features" that Mopar has offered in recent years.
