 1982 Jeep CJ 7 Renegade:

Tons of work completed! Very little rust for an '82. Lots of body work completed, but understand I was not going for a full resto, more of a solid daily wheeler you could drive to and from the mountains. Undercarriage was cleaned and sealed w/ POR15 rust preventive paint. Original color and original "Renegade" Sticker on the hood... It's distinctive. Awesome Jeep, but after 8 years it needs a new home.

The Good -

- TBI fuel Injection w/ stock GM Ignition Coil
- Clifford Performance High Flow Intake Manifold
- Clifford Performance Headers into 2-1/4" Exhaust... Awesome exhaust note!
- Rebuilt 5spd Transmission (T5)
- Refreshed and Re-sealed Dana 300 Transfer Case
- Fully Rebuilt Front and Rear Diffs
- Rear Ox Locker
- 2" Pro Comp Lift w/ MX6 adjustable shocks
- J20 Power Steering Gear Box Upgrade
- 31" Studded Snow Tires, drives great in the snow and wet
- Chevy Blazer Heat Blower Motor Upgrade
- CD w/ Aux Jack and good Speakers
- Grey Bikini Top
- Grey Bestop Soft Top
- Full Hard Doors
- Full Soft Doors (tan color)

The Bad -

- No Emissions Equipment, i.e. it probably will not pass.
- Fuel Gauge Doesn't work & the Speedo only works to 35mph.
- Motor was Freshly Rebuilt about 2000 miles ago, BUT if it is warm and idles for about 5 min w/out driving it will start to smoke. Compression was tested and is an even 120-125psi across all cylinders.

That Said, I just drove it 250 miles through the mountains w/ out an issue and no noticeable oil use and wouldn't be afraid to do so again.

I would love to keep the Jeep, but I had to purchased a truck for work and the Jeep needs to go.

As with most built Jeeps.. well over $10K in parts, maintenance, and upgrades.

I am Located in Central Denver, CO.  Buyer would be responsible for shipping or pick-up of the vehicle.

Jeep recalls 92k Grand Cherokee SUVs over electrical issue

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Chrysler is recalling 91,559 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from the 2014 model year due to some serious electrical issues. All of the affected models were built between January 8 and August 20, 2013.
The NHTSA report states that, "Due to a disruption of computer communications and loose alternator ground wires, the affected vehicles may experience random illumination of multiple instrument cluster warning lights, loss of cluster illumination and loss of anti-lock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) function." The loss of ABS or ESC would greatly reduce a driver's ability to control the vehicle if things get squirrely, and since these failures would not be illuminated on the dashboard display, drivers would not be warned of the issue, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall is expected to kick off sometime this month. Chrysler will notify affected Jeep owners and dealerships "will update the ABS and instrument cluster module software and tighten the alternator ground wire," according to NHTSA.

GMC boss wants a Jeep Wrangler rival

Wed, 12 Nov 2014

Challengers come and challengers go, but the Jeep Wrangler continues to push forward even after vehicles like the Toyota FJ Cruiser and the entire Hummer brand have been shut down. Now GMC reportedly wants to take a stab at the quintessential Jeep, as well.
The news comes directly from Buick-GMC vice president Duncan Aldred, speaking with our compatriots over at Edmunds. Although Aldred said there are no plans currently on the table to expand GMC's lineup beyond the current range, "there is plenty of room everywhere in the hierarchy."
That could include a rival to the Wrangler, as well as a flagship luxury SUV positioned above the current Yukon Denali (pictured above). Just when (or for that matter, if) such models might come into fruition remains a big question mark, but it's certainly interesting to see what GM's dedicated truck brand has on the drawing board.

China's Great Wall confirms its interest — in Jeep, or all of FCA

Tue, Aug 22 2017

HONG KONG/SHANGHAI — Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor reiterated its interest in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV on Tuesday, but said it had not held talks or signed a deal with executives at the Italian-American automaker. China's largest sport utility vehicle manufacturer made a direct overture to Fiat Chrysler on Monday, with an official saying the company was interested in all or part of FCA, owner of the Jeep and Ram truck brands. Automotive News first reported the news, quoting Great Wall Motor President Wang Fengying as saying she planned to contact FCA to discuss acquiring the Jeep brand specifically. Those comments sent FCA shares higher but also raised questions over the ability of China's seventh-largest automaker by sales to buy larger Western rival FCA, or even Jeep, which some analysts value at as much as one-and-a-half times FCA. Great Wall sought to dampen speculation on Tuesday. It confirmed it had studied Fiat Chrysler, but said there was "no concrete progress so far" and "substantial uncertainty" over whether it would eventually bid. "The company has not built any relationship with the directors of FCA nor has the company entered into any discussion or signed any agreements with any officer of FCA so far," the company said in an English-language stock exchange filing. It did not give further detail. Fiat Chrysler stock dipped on the statement on Tuesday. Great Wall said trading in its Shanghai-listed shares would resume on Wednesday after having been suspended. Fiat Chrysler declined to comment on Great Wall's statement. On Monday, it said it had not been approached and was fully committed to implementing its current business plan. FLUSHING OUT RIVALS? Great Wall Motor, which was early to spot China's love of SUVs, had revenue of $14.8 billion last year and sold 1.07 million vehicles - but that compares with FCA's 2016 revenue of 111 billion euros ($130.6 billion). Analysts said Great Wall would need to raise both debt and equity to complete any deal, meaning its chairman Wei Jianjun could lose majority control. One possible scenario, according to analysts at Jefferies, would see Wei keeping a roughly 30 percent stake, while Great Wall would raise $10-$14 billion in debt and $10 billion in equity - hefty for a group currently worth just $16 billion. Ultimately, politics could be the clincher.
