1981 Jeep Cj-5 Renegade Unrestored 78k Miles Orig. Paint California Cj Lifted on 2040-cars
YOU ARE VIEWING A VERY ORIGINAL, LOW MILEAGE, UNRESTORED 1981 JEEP CJ-5 RENEGADE. THIS IS A NO RUST CALIFORNIA JEEP THAT IS NOW IN BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA. IT HAS JUST UNDER 79K ACTUAL MILES! IT STILL WEARS ITS ORIGINAL OLYMPIC WHITE PAINT WITH RENEGADE STRIPING! HERE ARE SOME DETAILS ABOUT THIS TRUE SURVIVOR JEEP,
THE PAINT AND BODY ON THIS CJ ARE IN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDTION. THE PAINT THOUGH ORIGINAL, STILL SHINES UP VERY WELL AND IS VERY PRESENTABLE WITH EXCELLENT PATINA. EVEN THE RENEGADE STRIPES STILL LOOK AMAZING! THE FLOORBOARDS STILL WEAR THEIR ORIGINAL PAINT TOO. NO RHINO LINING HAS BEEN DONE TO HIDE RUST, ETC. THE BODY IS NEAR PERFECT. IT IS SUPER, SUPER STRAIGHT WITH ONLY THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FENDER KEEPING IT FROM BEING 100% PERFECT. THERE ARE NO RUST ISSUES. THE TUB, FRAME, BODY MOUNTS, WHEELHOUSES, ETC. ARE ALL SUPER, SUPER SOLID. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF ANY PREVIOUS RUST REPAIR AND THE BODY MAINTAINS ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL STEEL BODY PANELS. IT IS SO DIFFICULT TO FIND AN OLD CJ LIKE THIS ANYMORE. MOST HAVE BEEN PATCHED UP, RE-TUBBED, FIBERGLASSED, BONDOED, ETC. THE INTERIOR IS ALL ORIGINAL. EVEN THE ORIGINAL PLASTIC CENTER CONSOLE AND THE ORIGINAL STEERING WHEEL REMAIN. THE FRONT SEATS NEED RECOVERING, BUT THE BESTOP SEAT COVERS ARE IN PRESENTABLE CONDITION. MECHANICALLY, THE JEEP IS SOUND. IT STARTS AND IDLES SMOOTHLY ONCE WARMED UP. IT HOLDS GOOD OIL PRESSURE AND DOESN'T LEEK ANY FLUIDS ON MY GARAGE FLOOR. IT ONLY HAS 78,965 MILES SO THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION STILL FEEL TIGHT. IT DOESN'T RUN HOT, AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS THROUGH ALL 4 GEARS PERFECTLY. THE CLUTCH FEELS GOOD AND THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE OPERATES AS IT SHOULD. THE TIRES LOOK TO BE ABOUT 60%+. THE JEEP HAS BEEN LIFTED PROFESSIONALLY WITH A RANCHO 4 INCH KIT. IT GOES DOWN THE ROAD NICE AN STRAIGHT WITHOUT EXCESSIVE WANDER LIKE A LOT OF LIFTED CJs. IT ALSO HAS KC OFF ROAD LIGHTS AND A LIGHT DUTY SUPERWINCH WINCH THAT WORKS. OVERALL, THIS IS A REALLY COOL WELL PRESERVED CJ. THESE UNTOUCHED ORIGINALS ARE GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND, ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDTION. DON'T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN THIS APPRECIATING CLASSIC. MANY OF MY AUCTIONS END WITH JUST A PHONE CALL. I CAN ARRANGE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. 205-276-1918 |

Fiat-based baby Jeep spotted testing in US and Europe
Thu, 03 Oct 2013Details remain scarce, but our spy photographers have managed to capture the upcoming Jeep B-segment crossover for the first time, testing in both the Alps and in the US. Shown here as a cobbled-together Fiat 500L mule, the new Jeep model is expected to arrive for the 2015 model year and act as a replacement for the current Compass and Patriot models.
According to our shooter, the new "baby Jeep" will share a platform with the Fiat 500X, and both models will be built on the same assembly line in Turin, Italy. We can't tell much from these images, but the added length apparent on this 500L mule would seem to dispel the recent speculation that the new entry-level Jeep model would be sized closer to the Ford Fiesta - since the 500L is already considerably larger than the Fiesta. Powertrain options will likely mirror other Fiat/Chrysler collaborative vehicles like the Dodge Dart, but this Jeep will also try to live up to its off-road roots with an optional all-wheel-drive system.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and a Final Four of automakers | Autoblog Podcast #723
Fri, Apr 1 2022In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski. We start out with news on the Lotus Eletre and Ferrari Purosangue. These two high-end crossovers are followed by discussions about the new inline-six engines from Stellantis and an overabundance of Hummer EV orders. Next we try something we've never tried before: ranking automaker blue bloods. We took inspiration from the current NCAA tournament, which features Duke, North Carolina, Villanova and Kansas — very much traditional blue-blood basketball programs — to name our Final Four automakers. Let us know if you agree or disagree with our picks and what your definition of a blue blood car brand is. We wrap up with a discussion about the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk that Jeremy's been driving all week. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Jeep Liberty replacement takes shape
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Now that the Liberty has left us for greener pastures, it's time to start looking into the future of the midsize Jeep model. The next all-new vehicle for the off-road brand will be the SUV you see here, effectively replacing the Liberty, and not necessarily carrying on with that name.
From the sides, the prototype you see here sort of looks like a miniature version of the handsome Grand Cherokee, albeit with a bit more in the way of body sculpting. Up front, the seven-slat grille will be front and center, with completely revised headlamp designs that are reportedly angular and sweep well into the front fenders (you can sort of see what we're talking about in the side profile). That doesn't sound very Jeep-like, but we'll reserve judgment until we, you know, see the thing.
The bigger question with the Liberty replacement will be whether or not its off-road chops will be up to snuff. After all, the two previous generations of Liberty models were body-on-frame traditional SUVs, whereas this new Jeep rides on a larger version of the Dodge Dart platform.
