This is a beautiful like new Jeep Patriot Anniversary Edition.  These are rare especially in this color combination of Brilliant Black Clearcoat Metallic and Black interior.  This is an excellent street Jeep in Front wheel Drive configuration.  I used this mostly on the highway for my sales business.  I am now retired and have no need for this extra car.  This is my second Patriot (my first was an 08) and has proved to be quieter and better riding than the first one.  It also gets better gas mileage and I have attained as much as 36 mpg on the highway.  I can regularly average 28 mpg at speeds of 70-75 mph.

This Jeep is loaded with factory accessories (please see the picture of the laminated window sticker) and also has the added dealer features of Homelink Garage door opener, Voice activated stereo and Bluetooth phone, Daytime Running Lights, Factory Tow hitch (only towed a small trailer once), Winter Slush Mats, Roll up Cargo cover,  Cargo Nets, Roof Cross bars and Cargo Basket (never used).  There is also a almost new set of Firestone Winterforce tires mounted on Jeep Patriot Steel 16 inch wheels that I used one winter for 3500 miles.  The vehicle does really not need snow tires but when they are on the winter handling is greatly enhanced.  They are quiet and could be used all year round if desired.

The vehicle is in excellent almost new condition with no accidents, rust or body damage.  There are some stone pits on the grill from high way driving but other than that the vehicle looks new.  The Anniversary Edition Floor mats were place in the vehicle for the pictures and have never been used.  The interior is as close to perfect as one could get.

I am an auto and Jeep enthusiast and have driven well over 500,000 miles in Jeeps and have owned two Wranglers, a Cherokee, a Grand Cherokee, a Liberty and two Patriots.   I can say this is the most comfortable and best  of all of my Jeeps--I especially appreciate the hauling capabilities, the ability to carry 4 adults in comfort (the back seat is very spacious) and the excellent fuel mileage which is consistently 23 city and 28 highway.

Please look at all of the pictures and as any questions.  I would consider delivery arrangements within 250 miles of Green Bay, WI for $.15/mile, but please ask about this before bidding.  Payment must be made before delivery or at time of pickup with certified funds.   A PayPal deposit of $500 is due within 2 days of the auction close.   Delivery or pickup must be arranged with in 10 days of auction close.

Jeep idles second shift it hired a month ago for 2014 Cherokee

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

In an unusual move, Chrysler is idling its recently hired second shift of 2014 Jeep Cherokee builders because, Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson said in a statement, it already has built the "critical number of vehicles we need to stock dealerships once containment is released," Automotive News reports.
After the "critical" 9,430 Cherokees were built, the layoff was enacted so as not to strain the automaker's logistics partners before the Cherokee is actually released. Chrysler says the temporary layoff will last about two weeks, with 500 workers out of work and another 600 reassigned at the Toledo Assembly Complex where the sports utility vehicle was being built. The second-shift workers were hired on August 19.
Chrysler previously insisted that it would release the Cherokee to dealerships by the end of the third quarter, and it initially planned to start selling the SUVs in mid-August. Apparently the Cherokee needed a software fix before hitting showrooms, which is how Chrysler explains why the release schedule is out of whack. We're thinking that this software fix addresses the "powertrain calibration" issue that delayed the first media test drives of the model. According to the Toledo Blade, Chrysler has admitted it is doing "extended quality validation testing" but refused to provide more information.

Jeep in St. Louis hacked from Pittsburgh

Tue, Jul 21 2015

One of America's most popular vehicles contains a security flaw that allows hackers to remotely commandeer it from anywhere on the planet. Cyber-security researchers Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller say they've accessed critical vehicle controls on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee that allowed them to remotely control critical vehicle functions like braking, transmission function, and steering. Automakers have downplayed the possibility a car could be remotely compromised, but the significance of the findings detailed Tuesday could cause them to reevaluate the threats posed to hundreds of thousands of vehicles already on the road. A key finding – the pair needed no physical access to the Jeep to pull off the attack. Valasek and Miller accessed the controls via a security hole in the Sprint cellular connection to Chrysler's UConnect infotainment system. In the course of their research, Valasek sat in his Pittsburgh home and remotely manipulated Miller's Jeep as he drove along a highway outside St. Louis. If you know a car's IP address, they say, a hacker could control it from anywhere. "We didn't add anything, didn't touch it," Valasek told Autoblog. "A customer could drive one of these things off a lot, and they'd have no clue it had these open attack surfaces." Remotely, he disabled brakes, turned the radio volume up, engaged windshield wipers and tampered with the transmission. Further, they could conduct surveillance on the Jeep, measuring its speed and tracking its whereabouts. They conducted the experiments over multiple breaches. They made their findings public on the same day the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the federal agency in charge of vehicle safety, released its latest report on the readiness of government and automakers to fend off these sorts of cyber attacks. Later today, two US Senators are expected to introduce legislation that would help consumers better understand the potential risks of car hacking. In the early stages of their research, Valasek and Miller found a security flaw in the car's wi-fi that allowed them to remotely manipulate controls from a range of about three feet. But in recent months, they found another vulnerability in the Sprint cellular connection in the UConnect system. That was a key breakthrough. "Lo and behold, we found we could communicate with this thing using cellular, and then more research, and 'Holy cow,' we're using the Sprint network to communicate with these vehicles," Valasek said.

Consumer Reports digs Mazda3, disses Jeep Cherokee

Tue, 11 Feb 2014

Consumer Reports has just rendered its verdict on two of the more important cars to launch this year - the Mazda3 and the Jeep Cherokee. Considering the value a "Recommended" rating carries with the public and the viciously competitive markets these two cars compete in, Consumer Reports' view could have some impact on their initial success.
For Mazda, that's a good thing. CR spoke quite highly of the Zoom-Zoom brand's compact sedan and hatch, testing both models, and citing the excellent fuel economy and snickety-snack manual shifter as high points. Downsides to the 3 included a ride that is agile but "nervous," a bit too much noise and a cramped back seat. Still, the 3 was good enough to earn its place in the ranks of the "Recommended."
The Jeep didn't fare quite so well, with CR calling the polarizing CUV "half-baked." Although both engines were tested, the magazine called the 2.4-liter four-pot underpowered and its nine-speed automatic unrefined and unresponsive. That's particularly damning, considering the 9AT's role in future Chrysler products, including the extremely important 200. Overall, the Cherokee missed out on the coveted "Recommended" rating.
