2005 Jeep Liberty Sport Crd Diesel! 62k Miles!! on 2040-cars
Milltown, New Jersey, United States
Up for sale is a 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD. 62,770 miles. Tires are about 40%-50% life left. Never had any issues with this jeep, took it on a trip out to ohio for a wedding and we were able to get 30mpg on the highway with 3 adults and 2 small kids crammed inside. The reason for the "diesel fuel Only" decal on the window is here in NJ we are not allowed to pump our own gas, and as this is my wife's vehicle the gas attendants don't always think she knows what shes talking about when she tells them she wants to fill up on diesel (we once had a jetta TDI, she asked for $10 of diesel, told the guy 3 times "diesel" he still put gasoline in it, had to pump the tank out on the side of the turnpike and flush with diesel. the decal is to ensure that mistake never happens again. and no, gas has never been in this jeeps tank). Has a factory installed 5,000lb tow hitch and harness connector (Tow Package) We love this jeep, so much that I have one of my own shortly after buying this one, but due to our family size increasing we need to get a minivan. (my wife hates the idea of a minivan, but she isn't comfortable with a larger vehicle than that and has her eye on a VW Routan.) We haven't had this jeep that long, almost 2 years now, so we still have a high payoff on the loan. We are selling this at payoff value only, and I will eat the $125 fee to list. Payoff is $10,128 according to the bank. Now I know this can be a tricky situation, I believe once you cut the check it will be about 2 weeks before you receive the title, we use Huntington National Bank in ohio, so we will have to overnight the check to them, they will wait for it to clear, then process the title and send it out to us. We cannot finance the new minivan without first eliminating this loan. You can ask anything that you need, you can arrange to come and see this. in some of the pictures it may look a little messy inside since we are still using it. I cant see us putting more that 300 miles on the odometer in the week that this is listed for. like I said, anything you need to know you can message me, or call also 732-763-1719. if you need this shipped I can help you find a shipping service. |

What's really going on with the 2014 Jeep Cherokee's transmission issues?
Fri, 27 Sep 2013On September 23, Automotive News reported that Chrysler had idled the second shift workers it hired just five weeks prior at its Toledo Assembly Complex to build the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. At the time, Chrysler said it had "built the critical number of vehicles we need to stock dealerships once containment is released" and did not want "to put additional strain on our logistics partners ... upon release." That reasoning was not only unusual, it didn't seem to make sense.
It appears the center of the nine-speed issue is software, not hardware.
That same day, the Detroit News ran a piece claiming workers at the Toledo factory said the halt was due to issues with the Cherokee's transmission. It put the number of already-built Cherokees needing fixes at 1,000 and said that some of the workers not laid off had been instructed "to take the Jeep on long test-drives." That made more sense. Three days later, on September 26, Automotive News reported that the 500 workers laid off had been reinstated, with engineers "speeding repairs on the SUV's powertrain software." The AN piece didn't put a number on how many units are being fixed, but it did say that 12,000 have been built and are awaiting delivery to dealers. The best it could say about when dealers will get them, however, is that "progress on a fix is being made. It's unclear when shipments to dealers will start."
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Choose Your Own Adventure... But Choose Wisely
Jeep has got you covered. We can say this without even having to know what it is you want, because there's hardly an option or configuration that you won't find in the 2014 Grand Cherokee. There are three different engines, three different four-wheel-drive systems (plus rear-wheel drive), four different trim levels - not counting SRT - two different suspension setups and five different settings for various off-road terrain conditions. If you happen to check the box for Quadra-Lift, you'll also have five different ride-height settings for the driver-selectable air suspension.
As you might expect with so many customization possibilities, the way a buyer checks the options sheet can have a profound effect on the final product and its capabilities, to say nothing of its price. Nowhere is that more true than with the Grand Cherokee's choice of engines, with the brand-new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 stealing the spotlight from the still excellent gasoline-fueled 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 powerplants that carry over from last year. No matter which engine you choose, though, it will be paired up with Jeep's new standard eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF. This, ladies and gentlemen, is very good news indeed.
