The condition of the exterior, interior and engine can vary depending on the vehicle's history. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Hit light, above the rail in the driver's side front fender. It's going to need a bumper cover, a fender, repair work on the hood, and fog lights. The airbags are good. The drivetrain appears to be untouched, and the vehicle runs and drives fine. One tire is damaged, and will need to be replaced, the other three are in good condition."

You're bidding on a repairable 2005 Jeep Cherokee Renegade. The damage is light and primarily focused on the driver's side fender. The damage appears to be entirely cosmetic, and the vehicle actually runs and drives (though not far, the tire is damaged and leaks). This vehicle has a rebuildable Missouri salvage title. In most states you can rebuild the title and have a title that will register and insure just like a regular title, but please check the relevant local laws BEFORE bidding. TN residents will be liable for sales tax, residents of all other states are responsible for paying their own taxes when they register the vehicle.

This jeep has pretty much every option except leather and sunroof, and has low miles. It runs great. Should be a very easy fix and a very solid vehicle once repaired. Before bidding, please make sure you understand what is involved in repairing a wrecked vehicle, we will not do any repair work, you're buying the vehicle, as is, and are responsible for transportation. This vehicle can not be driven off the lot, as it needs a tire, and has damaged lights. It can be driven onto a wrecker or trailer under it's own power.

This vehicle has no warning lights on, other than a bad bulb warning light. It has no check engine codes, no airbag lights, no traction control or stability system warnings. The interior is clean and free of damage, and the 4wd system works. Basically the only damage is the damage you see.

Please do your research before bidding. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of auction end. If for any reason you decide not to buy the vehicle, you forfeit this deposit, so ask your significant other, check local regulations regarding rebuilding salvage titles and get estimates on parts and labor costs for repair BEFORE you place a bid.

2016 Jeep Wrangler to ditch solid axles to save weight?

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

Hey, Jeep fans. If you think the idea of a funky-looking, car-based Cherokee revival is offensive, have a listen to what might be in store for the next-gen Jeep Wrangler. Automotive News is reporting that as Jeep develops the 2016 Wrangler, weight reduction is a crucial target, and the Wrangler's rugged solid axles could be sacrificed in the name of better fuel economy.
We've already heard the next Wrangler will go on a serious diet using aluminum body panels and an air suspension system, so the idea of a four-wheel independent suspension setup for this OG SUV isn't all that surprising. Besides, it's not like an independent suspension would limit the Wrangler's off-road abilities - just check out the Hummer H1. In fact, it might be the aftermarket parts companies - not Wrangler enthusiasts - who would be most disappointed by such a drastic suspension change, as the article states that the Wrangler's solid axles and coil-link suspension make it the most popular SUV for customization.
There are probably still a couple years before we'll start hearing any concrete details about the 2016 Wrangler, at which time it will be interesting to see how stricter fuel economy and crash safety regulations have been balanced with traditional Wrangler cues like its removable doors and roof and folding windshield. Let us know in the comments below if a Wrangler sans solid axles is any less of a Wrangler.

Next Jeep Wrangler to keep solid axles

Mon, Feb 16 2015

Jeep fans, you're not out of the woods yet, but the latest news is good: Automotive News reports that the next-generation Wrangler will stick with floating solid axles front and rear. Fiat-Chrysler wouldn't comment on the report, but the theory is that the combination of cost, capability, and ease of modification were deciding factors. We're sure the multibillion dollar aftermarket industry is also pleased. Remember, Jeep showed off the lifted Cherokee Dakar Concept at the Easter Jeep Safari last year, but the first ingredient in the recipe for jacking up its independent suspension was, "a whole new suspension." Above that there will be an aluminum body that's smaller than the current one, which Allpar says could be done with a narrower track and tighter gaps. It will sport a fixed windshield with increased rake to improve aero efficiency, and while there are rumors of a diesel-engined version that we'll finally get in the US, there's been no reliable info as of yet to back that up. Maserati Levante crossover not Jeep based after all?

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

Maserati has been teasing its crossover project since 2011, which is when it first showed off the Kubang concept (pictured above). Still, the production version, rumored to be called the Levante, remains a complete mystery. The CUV was first rumored to borrow the platform from the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but new rumors indicate that the Italian, luxury crossover might actually take the underpinnings from the Quattroporte and Ghibli.
In a brief interview, Maserati CEO Harald Wester told CNN Money that the Levante wouldn't use Jeep's platform. Motor Trend spoke with an unnamed Maserati engineer who confirmed the rumor. Officially, the company says that no decision has been made.
We can add this to another long list of rumors about the Italian CUV. It was originally supposed to be built at Chrysler's Jefferson North assembly plant in Detroit. Then, plans were changed to build it in Italy.
