OH WOW! LOOK AT THIS 2002 JEEP LIBERTY! THIS IS A GREAT SUV FOR SOMEONE LOOKING FOR JEEP CAPABILITY AND VALUE. NO RESERVE!

This is a great truck for someone who wants a 4x4 at a great price. This is a limited model with leather seats, alloy wheels, painted trim, power windows, locks, a/c, automatic transmission, upgraded kenwood cd player with ipod hookup, four wheel drive, power heated seats, and more! This is a strong running truck with a couple cosmetic blemishes, but nothing major and it is a great looking truck overall. It is absolutely no reserve, so here is your chance to get a great Jeep at a great price. I will describe this vehicle in as much detail as I can, but just remember overall this is a used vehicle with over 100k miles, while it runs and drives good, it obviously isn't perfect and anyone who tells you a similar vehicle is, is probably lying to you. Please keep this in mind and expect normal wear/tear for a vehicle of this age and mileage.

Lets start with the exterior. This is a good looking Jeep, it does have a few blemishes, but hey it's a Jeep! If you look at the pictures you will see the areas of concern. The drivers door has a couple of spots of paint flake, surface rust. The truck has some light scratches, scuffs, and dings in general. There are a couple spots on the fender flares and bottom of drivers door where it was touched up, it wasn't the best job, but it's close inspection stuff. The rockers and inside bottom edge of doors have usual surface rust, everything seems to be solid and touched up, but it's there and I want you to know about it. I really don't think it's anything unusual for a 2002 from michigan, no big holes, the truck isn't swiss cheese, just surface. The pictures represent it accurately. So stand back and look at it, it is a sharp truck, close inspection, you will see this stuff.

Interior is typical used condition. The dash and door panels are all in good shape, you can see the seats have some wear, drivers seat has the most. The floors are pretty darn clean for an 02. All of the buttons seem to work other than the power mirrors. The CD/radio works well and has aux. input and USB ipod input. The recline lever on the passenger seat is missing, it's about a 15.00 part. The plastic bolsters are loose as you can see in the pic, but the power seats both work.

Mechanical. This is a strong running Jeep. The engine doesn't make any abnormal noises, the transmission shifts smoothly, starts right up every time. It goes down the road well, I just took it on a 340 mile round trip 2 days ago and didn't have one issue. This has the factory tow package, I'm not sure if the lights work or not. The tires have deep tread, probably a good 20,000 miles left on them. The rear tires do have slight chop so you do get some minor vibration up at highway speeds. Considering it is a jeep, and an 02, I think it drives good. Obviously you get the little vibration at the high speeds, it hits large bumps probably a little harder then when it was new, but I wouldn't hesitate to drive this home from anywhere. The four wheel drive works well and if you know Jeeps, you know these are more than capable off road or in deep snow.

So thats it, if you have any questions I missed, please don't hesitate to ask! Here's your chance to socre a great Liberty for thousands less than retail. The NADA value is 6850.00 but you tell me what it's worth.

This does have a clean title, if you are out of state you buy with a bill of sale and assigned title. If you are in Michigan, I have to collect tax, title, and tag fees.

Deposit through paypal is due within 48 hours. Full payment and pickup is due in 7 days. Shipping is responsibility of the buyer, but I will help as much as I can with loading.

Good luck and Good bidding!

Jeep in St. Louis hacked from Pittsburgh

Tue, Jul 21 2015

One of America's most popular vehicles contains a security flaw that allows hackers to remotely commandeer it from anywhere on the planet. Cyber-security researchers Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller say they've accessed critical vehicle controls on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee that allowed them to remotely control critical vehicle functions like braking, transmission function, and steering. Automakers have downplayed the possibility a car could be remotely compromised, but the significance of the findings detailed Tuesday could cause them to reevaluate the threats posed to hundreds of thousands of vehicles already on the road. A key finding – the pair needed no physical access to the Jeep to pull off the attack. Valasek and Miller accessed the controls via a security hole in the Sprint cellular connection to Chrysler's UConnect infotainment system. In the course of their research, Valasek sat in his Pittsburgh home and remotely manipulated Miller's Jeep as he drove along a highway outside St. Louis. If you know a car's IP address, they say, a hacker could control it from anywhere. "We didn't add anything, didn't touch it," Valasek told Autoblog. "A customer could drive one of these things off a lot, and they'd have no clue it had these open attack surfaces." Remotely, he disabled brakes, turned the radio volume up, engaged windshield wipers and tampered with the transmission. Further, they could conduct surveillance on the Jeep, measuring its speed and tracking its whereabouts. They conducted the experiments over multiple breaches. They made their findings public on the same day the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the federal agency in charge of vehicle safety, released its latest report on the readiness of government and automakers to fend off these sorts of cyber attacks. Later today, two US Senators are expected to introduce legislation that would help consumers better understand the potential risks of car hacking. In the early stages of their research, Valasek and Miller found a security flaw in the car's wi-fi that allowed them to remotely manipulate controls from a range of about three feet. But in recent months, they found another vulnerability in the Sprint cellular connection in the UConnect system. That was a key breakthrough. "Lo and behold, we found we could communicate with this thing using cellular, and then more research, and 'Holy cow,' we're using the Sprint network to communicate with these vehicles," Valasek said.

Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot boards meet to finalize merger

Tue, Dec 17 2019

MILAN/PARIS — The boards of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Peugeot will meet separately on Tuesday to discuss finalizing an initial agreement for a $50 billion merger to create the world's number four carmaker, sources said. A source close to FCA said the two companies could announce the signing of a binding memorandum early on Wednesday, followed by a conference call to explain further details later in the day. The two mid-sized carmakers announced plans six weeks ago for a tie-up to help them deal with big challenges in the industry, including a global demand downturn and the need to develop costly cleaner cars to meet looming anti-pollution rules. Ahead of the meetings, entities representing the Peugeot family, Etablissements Peugeot Freres (EPF) and FFP, unanimously approved a proposed memorandum of understanding for the planned merger, a source familiar with the situation said. FCA and PSA have said they would seek to finalize a deal by year-end to create a group with 8.7 million in annual vehicle sales. That would put it fourth globally behind Volkswagen, Toyota and the Renault-Nissan alliance. PSA's Carlos Tavares will be chief executive and FCA's John Elkann — the scion of Italy's Agnelli family, which controls FCA through their holding company Exor — chairman of the combined company. The group will include the Fiat, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Peugeot, DS, Opel and Vauxhall brands, allowing it to serve mass and premium passenger car markets as well as those for trucks and light commercial vehicles. Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler wants mountains, not a stage

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

We've said it before and we'll say it again - while we usually grow tired of the endless barrage of special edition vehicles, that isn't the case with the Jeep Wrangler. Every unique model we encounter seems cooler than the one before it, and this Willys Wheeler Edition is no exception.
The Willys Wheeler package is sort of a throwback to early Jeep CJ models, and wears "Willys" stickers on the hood. There's also a gloss black grille, rock rails to protect the side sills, and unique 17-inch black wheels wrapped in meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires. For proper off-road prowess, this special edition uses a Dana 44 rear axle with a limited-slip differential and a 3.73 final drive ratio.
Look for the Willys edition to hit dealerships early next year, starting at $25,795 for the two-door version and $29,595 for the four-door. Feel free to read all about it in the press release below.
