I'm selling this custom 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Take it on a Summer road trip anywhere...Take it North of the Grand Canyon, Utah, New York, its built to go anywhere in style. It was built withing the pages of Jp Magazine.

It is very clean for 98,xxx miles, low miles for a 2001. The Jeep is has a tuned 4.7L V-8, automatic transmission, custom transfercase, custom suspension and custom front and rear bumpers. It also has a brand new A/C system where almost all of the parts were replaced with new units 200 miles or so ago. It blows cold.
The battery is also almost new with maybe 300-500 miles. Tires are Nittos and have 70-85 percent of the tread left. The interior is very clean with leather and has no tears, no rips, no smoke smell. The front bumper is a Iceland Offroad Fiberglass unit (Light and strong and no longer available) that holds an old yet reliable Ramsey 9500lb Winch. The rear tire carrier is tied into the trailer hitch and holds a matching tire and wheel that have never been on the road.
The suspension is a 4.5-inch Clayton Long arm suspension with Bilstein 5160 shocks that are an upgrade with this custom suspension. I also am running spacers under the front springs so it sits more level, so the front has about 5-inches. The transfercase is a rebuilt NV242 out of a Cherokee that has 2wd, 4wd Hi, Full time 4wd, Neutral, and 4wd Low range. It is customized with a Heavy Duty Slip yoke eliminator and Tom Woods Customs Rear Drive shaft with CV joint. The front axle has JKS swaybar disconnects, JKS steering, and JKS track bar. The body is trimmed for the 33-inch tires with the bump stops tuned for the tires and suspension. The front axle also has Daystar Stinger Bumpstops. The 4.7L V-8 is healthy and has a full AIRAID intake and an AIRAID throttle body spacer. The Jeep also has a Superchips tuner that displays real time engine and transmission information from the vehicles computer. The Jeep also has 4xGuard rocker guards and EBC pads and rotors all the way around. I am sure I am forgetting something.

I have a carfax for any serious prospective buyers. Basically this Jeep has lots of parts that work well on it and almost no needs.

it does need:
-Front CV axles. these are worn. I was gonna build a custom front axle for the Jeep, but plans and life changes. You can replace these shafts for a few hundred dollars or get a stronger custom axle built installed. Your call.
-The window tint on the front windows is peeling and needs to be re-done.
-It has a few small dings and dents and Arizona pinstripes. I used it offroad. Its been on trails in AZ and Utah and its quite capable.
-Probably could use a transmission service fluid change and flush

Price is negotiable but I know what the Jeep is worth and don't have to sell it right away. Save your time and mine with the stupid low-ball offers.

*For sale as is!*

This Jeep needs to go to the right new owner. And your getting a lot of Jeep for a great price. I am honest and will tell you what the Jeep needs. I built this Jeep for myself with quality parts and have maintained it since I bought it a few years back. I'd keep it, but I have too many projects and need to move on to the next one.

Thanks

2013 Jeep Wrangler Moab Edition

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

There will forever be a soft spot in my heart for the Jeep Wrangler. The last one I owned was red, and, as a 1990 model, had the square headlights derided by Jeep enthusiasts who grew up on the Civilian Jeeps that descended from their General Purpose military ancestors. As a teenager, I couldn't have cared less what shape its headlights happened to be - to me, a Jeep Wrangler represented freedom; a carefree do-it-all machine equally at home with the top stowed away in the summer or with the heater on full blast in the snowy clutches of Old Man Winter. In Dr. Seuss parlance, my square-headlighted Sneetch was just as worthy as any round-headlighted Sneetch.
All that said, I'll be the first person to advise against buying a Jeep Wrangler of any sort for owners who don't plan to use it as its makers intend. There's no good reason to punish yourself with a stiff and springy ride, a loud and somewhat drafty (though generally water-resistant) interior or the poor fuel economy expected of a block-shaped vehicle if you don't enjoy its other, more exciting benefits.
Of course, Jeep has done its darndest over the years to make the Wrangler as civilized as possible while keeping it as capable as federal law will allow. The 2013 Jeep Wrangler Moab edition is one of Jeep's latest attempts to attract attention from the upper reaches of the active lifestyle set, and I spent a week with one to see what makes the Moab special.

Stellantis expects to hit emissions target without Tesla's help

Tue, May 4 2021

Franco-Italian carmaker Stellantis expects to achieve its European carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions targets this year without environmental credits bought from Tesla, its CEO said in an interview published on Tuesday. Stellantis was formed through the merger of France's PSA and Italy's FCA, which spent about 2 billion euros ($2.40 billion) to buy European and U.S. CO2 credits from electric vehicle maker Tesla over the 2019-2021 period. "With the electrical technology that PSA brought to Stellantis, we will autonomously meet carbon dioxide emission regulations as early as this year," Stellantis boss Carlos Tavares said in the interview with French weekly Le Point. "Thus, we will not need to call on European CO2 credits and FCA will no longer have to pool with Tesla or anyone." California-based Tesla earns credits for exceeding emissions and fuel economy standards and sells them to other automakers that fall short. European regulations require all car manufacturers to reduce CO2 emissions for private vehicles to an average of 95 grams per kilometer this year. A Stellantis spokesman said the company is in discussions with Tesla about the financial implications of the decision to stop the pooling agreement. "As a result of the combination of Groupe PSA and FCA, Stellantis will be in a position to achieve CO2 targets in Europe for 2021 without open passenger car pooling arrangements with other automakers," he added. Tesla's sales of environmental credits to rival automakers helped it to announce slightly better than expected first-quarter revenue this week. The next tightening of European regulations will soon be the subject of proposals from the European Commission. The 2030 target could be lowered to less than 43 grams/km. Stellantis ready to kill brands and fix U.S. problems, CEO Tavares says

Thu, Jul 25 2024

MILAN — Stellantis is taking steps to fix weak margins and high inventory at its U.S. operations and will not hesitate to axe underperforming brands in its sprawling portfolio, its chief executive Carlos Tavares said on Thursday. The warning for lossmaking brands is a turnaround for Tavares, who has maintained since Stellantis was created in 2021 from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA that all of its 14 brands including Maserati, Fiat, Peugeot and Jeep have a future. "If they don't make money, we'll shut them down," Carlos Tavares told reporters after the world's No. 4 automaker delivered worse-than-expected first-half results, sending its shares down as much as 10%. "We cannot afford to have brands that do not make money." The automaker now also considers China's Leapmotor as its 15th brand, after it agreed to a broad cooperation with the group. Stellantis does not release figures for individual brands, except for Maserati which reported an 82 million euro adjusted operating loss in the first half. Some analysts say Maserati could possibly be a target for a sale by Stellantis, while other brands such as Lancia or DS might be at risk of being scrapped given their marginal contribution to the group's overall sales. Stellantis' Milan-listed shares were down as much as 12.5% on Thursday, hitting their lowest since August 2023. That brings the loss for the year so far to 22%, making them the worst performer among the major European automakers. Few automotive brands have been killed off since General Motors ditched the unprofitable Saturn and Pontiac during a U.S. government-led bankruptcy in the global financial crisis in 2008. Tavares is under pressure to revive flagging margins and sales and cut inventory in the United States as Stellantis bets on the launch of 20 new models this year which it hopes will boost profitability. Recent poor results from global carmakers have heightened worries about a weakening outlook for sales across major markets such as the U.S., whilst they also juggle an expensive transition to electric vehicles and growing competition from cheaper Chinese rivals. Japan's Nissan Motor saw first-quarter profit almost completely wiped out on Thursday and slashed its annual outlook, as deep discounting in the United States shredded its margins. Tavares said he would be working through the summer with his U.S. team on how to improve performance and cut inventory.
