Selling my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4. Currently has 164k miles. Has power seat, cruise, tilt wheel, AM/FM/CD/Cassette Stereo. 4x4 is the lever style on the floor and works great. Tires are good. Also has a towing package installed. The windshield has a small crack on the driver side. The passenger side fog light is broken. Sometimes (not very often) while driving the airbag light will come on. It will sometimes go out in a few minutes or stay on until the jeep is shut off then it will go out. It happened about 4 times in the last 5 months. Also while driving with the headlights on, the instrument panel lights will sometime flicker. I get it to stop if I tap on the slider for the dimmer adjustment. Those are really the only 2 problems with it. It also has a little rust on the bottom right by the front of the passenger door. It has had regular maintenance and does not use or leak any fluids. I'm Just selling it cause I got a truck. I did have a loan for it, but recently paid it off so I should be getting the clear title very soon. Please ask with any questions or if you would like more pics. 2014 Jeep Cherokee facing production delay
Fri, 17 May 2013Jeep's bold-faced new direction spearheaded by the 2014 Cherokee is facing some teething issues. According to a report by the Detroit Free Press, production start-up of the controversial new utility vehicle at its Toledo North facility is running about a month behind schedule "due to a wide range of issues." That's according to Mark Chernoby, senior vice president of engineering at Chrysler.
Chernoby maintains that the issues being encountered aren't unusual for the launch of a new vehicle - particularly one with a new powertrain - and he downplayed the delay, telling Jeep dealers that they "will have ample inventory of the midsize SUV by fall." Among the kinks being worked out? Calibrating the Cherokee's cutting-edge ZF nine-speed automatic transmission and refining assembly line tasks to make the process more efficient.
Chrysler expects to start building retail-ready versions of the Cherokee around mid-June, with official sales slated to start in September.
Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
