1972 Jeepster Commando, (BARN FIND). This jeep was originally bought in Passadena California and made its way to Tucson AZ in 1985. It was well taken care of and I am the third owner. It sports the 304, three speed on the floor,PS,PB,AC,4X4 and deluxe interior. The jeep is mostly original and no rot that I can find, just surface fust from being covered with a tarp. This jeep has not been restored or rebuilt, the only thing taken off was the smog pump that I do not have. The jeep runs, stops, and shifts great. Here is what I have done as follows; NEW; gas sending unit, fuel pump, master cylinder, starter motor, battery, and heater/radiator hoses, belts, plugs, wires, points, rebuilt carburetor, brand new Goodyear wrangler tires, oil change in engin, trans, transcase, differentials, all universal joints greased. It is now a daily driver, I have put around sixty miles on the car so far, It's a blast to drive and get many complements, the engine does not smoke nor does it run hot. The jeep still could use some work but I am done putting hundreds of dollars into it, I have other projects. This is no junk jeep, it is a turn key and go. It still has the original hub caps, the horn does work, and the AC system is good however not charged and the blower motor needs to be wired. The compressor spins freely and the clutch does engage. The full tire warranty will go which is transferable, spare is also new. Also have the 72 owner's manual and an AAA member's packet from 1985. Successful bid winner will pick up the jeep within two weeks with cash I will not ship. I am also selling the jeep locally and reserve the right to end this posting.

Jeep Twitter account hacked, bad language, poor grammar and some hilarity ensue
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Just a day after Burger King's Twitter account was compromised by "unauthorized users," Jeep's social media feed has been similarly hacked. Both instances of digital incursion share some similarities - the BK hackers changed the company's logo for McDonald's familiar golden arches, saying a sale had occurred, while the Jeep miscreants have replaced Jeep's branding with that of General Motors property Cadillac.
The resulting tweets from the damaged Jeep account have been a pretty brutal, to put it bluntly. Most of the content coming from the hacked account is unpublishable here, using language that is peppered with racial epithets, and poorly worded "shout outs."
In addition to the defamatory tweets themselves, the hackers have significantly altered the layout of the page. Jeep's header image now features a picture of the Cadillac ATS to go along with the Wreath and Crest, some language calling out that car as winning the 2013 North American Car of the Year award, and this gem: "The official Twitter handle for the Jeep(R) - Just Empty Every Pocket, Sold To Cadillac =[" Also, perhaps in an ode to yesterday's Burger King heist, the background image for the page now features a McDonald's-themed donk. The devil's in the details, we guess.
Chrysler adding 200 jobs at Ohio Jeep Wrangler plant
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Chrysler is betting that the Jeep Wrangler will continue its strong sales surge as it continues to push the legendary brand out across the globe. The Auburn Hills automaker is reportedly adding 200 workers at the Toledo, Ohio plant that builds the Wrangler. What's more, those new hires will be at their posts quickly - they'll be on the job by April 1. Of those 200 workers, 130 employees will be there to relieve those who need breaks.
Why do they need so many relief workers? The Toledo Jeep Complex is currently working at a torrid pace with two ten-hour shifts. A third shift has been ruled out for the moment because of a production botttleneck - the plant's paint shop is already maxed out. According to Reuters, Wrangler production in 2012 cleared 200,000 units, and US sales were up by 16 percent.
Another part of the Toledo plant is presently down as Chrysler retools the line to build Jeep's divisively styled Liberty replacement, the Cherokee (seen in our gallery below). Production for the new model is scheduled to begin toward the end of May.
Next-gen Jeep Wrangler to get 8-speed automatic and 3.0-liter EcoDiesel
Thu, Mar 5 2015Following up on previous reports, an anonymous source within FCA has confirmed to Autoblog that the next-generation Jeep Wrangler will come to market with both a 3.0-liter, EcoDiesel V6 and ZF's critically acclaimed eight-speed automatic transmission. While this pairing makes a lot of sense (we'll explain why in a minute), until now, we only had limited reports that either item would arrive in the next-generation Wrangler. This is the first time we've heard that the eight-speed automatic and the diesel would be paired together. That said, we shouldn't be surprised by this news. FCA currently sells the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500 with the diesel/eight-speed gearbox combo, making its inclusion in the next-gen Wrangler far from an Apollo 11-caliber feat of engineering. Naturally, we reached out to Jeep for an official comment. Spokesperson Gabrielle Schulte gave us the expected response to this kind of inquiry, telling Autoblog that FCA does not comment on future product. Jeep has flirted with the idea of a diesel Wrangler for some time, with CEO Mike Manley telling Ward's Auto just over two years ago that a Wrangler diesel was "on the radar," although at that time, we weren't certain whether it'd be the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel showing up in the rough-and-tumble off-roader. As for the eight-speed, SEC filings back in November revealed that it'd be coming to the Wrangler in 2018. Our source could not confirm which model year the 8AT/diesel would arrive in. Related Video:
