This is a 2006 Jeep Commander that my wife purchased new. It runs well and has no major flaws or defects. The Jeep has 190,300 miles on it.
The Good:
V-6, 3.7 liter, 2WD, traction control, ABS, power steering, tilt wheel, front air conditioning, rear air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, AM/FM single CD stereo, rear parking sensors, dual front air bags, side air bags, power driver seat, privacy glass, alloy wheels and roof rack.
The Bad:
There is a dent in the driver-side, rear door under the molding strip, it is not really noticeable. The transmission has a slight hitch when shifting fro m first to second gear. This car has done this from the day we purchased it new and Jeep could never figure out what the issue was but the car has driven strong every day for the past 7+. The interior door handles have cracked around the handle well on both the front driver and passenger doors. There was an issue with brittle plastic used by Jeep in this year model. Replacement parts can be found on eBay for arounf $40 - $50 per door.
Overall, this has been a great car for our family, I am selling this because my wife has a Honda Accord now and I would rather drive a truck.

Jay Leno rides high in Fab Fours Legend
Mon, Mar 23 2015Jeep showcased some pretty awesome concepts at its Easter Safari in Moab a few days ago, but few if any of them were quite as extreme as what's rolled in to Jay Leno's Garage for this latest video installment. It's called the Legend, and it was made by aftermarket bumper manufacturer Fab Fours to demonstrate its capabilities. It's obviously based on the Jeep Wrangler, but it's riding high on 50-inch tires with a jacked-up monster truck suspension, giant fenders, a chopped-down red-tinted greenhouse and something its creators call a "grumper" that integrates the bumper into the grille. Or vice versa. Though most of the oily bits have carried over from the production model, it's hardly what you'd call "practical," but it's sure to turn a lot of heads... even one as massive as Jay's. Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay
Sat, 23 Mar 2013A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.
2014 Jeep Cherokee gets official in a hurry
Fri, 22 Feb 2013Automakers work very, very hard to keep their new vehicles under wraps until they can present them in exactly the way they want it - typically choreographed under the bright lights of an auto show, or perhaps with photos or video in an idyllic location. Spy shooters and leaks, in other words, keep executives and public-relations types up at night.
This is likely to be one of the most polarizing designs to come out in 2014.
Take today, for instance, when the team over at Jalopnik got a big scoop - the first undisguised shots of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, a model whose name wasn't even officially confirmed yet. The clandestine images taken inside of a factory were blurry and didn't exactly show off the crossover's radical new contours in the same sort of flattering light that Jeep probably would've wished for its product reveal. So the Auburn Hills automaker has wisely reacted by spilling at least some of the beans on the new model, giving us these four photos and confirming the Liberty replacement's name, Cherokee.
