This is the ONE We’ve all looked for

I believe this truck has every option available in 1988, including the 1988 Olympics sticker on the rear window.  This truck was always garaged in SW Virginia with an average of 4300 miles a year on the truck.  For the life of the truck it had a camper shell so the bed is 100% perfect.  I found a rare 7 foot liner for it as well.  I’ve included a picture of the window sticker where you call see the detailed  option sheet.  Items like factory chrome tow hook, sound deadener package, full skid plates, even under the front bumper.

I acquired the truck from a gentleman who purchased it from an estate of a family he knew for many years.  This truck is truly unmolested.  The white paint is flawless, not one place where clear coat is peeling. The only paint that has imperfection is a silver band just above the “Laredo armor” , but is really some sort of tape decal that has cracked and shrunk over time.

The factory 8” wide mags are close to perfect , with all caps in place, and a matching spare. Recent tires , battery and muffler.  The interior literally looks like new, even the burgundy Jeep Floor mats.  No seat tears and the headliner is perfect as well.  Even the Vanity mirror lights work.

The truck runs perfect. Smooth, and the front end has no play what-so-ever. The new muffler gives it a clean crisp sound.  It also has the transmission with the Switch on the dash that adjusts your shift points for pulling loads.

There a re a few things I have noticed that keeps the truck from being perfect. There is a slight “Hum” in the rear end  at 50, but goes away at higher or lower speeds.  The clock is not working, the l.e.d. could be burnt out, and the heater/A-C blower motor is a little noisy at the high setting.  The fog lights are not original and the radio could use some new speakers.  Other than that , the truck is amazing.  Feel free to call me for any questions.

Jeep gunning to build 250,000 Cherokees a year

Thu, 21 Mar 2013

Contrary to what a certain politician may have said last year about Jeep moving to China, the automaker is in fact doing the opposite, with plans to greatly increase the production capacity at its Toledo North Assembly plant in Ohio. The Detroit Free Press is reporting that there are big plans for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Toledo North, as a local union president has informed the newspaper that Chrysler is planning to produce around 250,000 examples of the new midsize utility per year.
To put this number into context, 250,000 units is more than what Jeep Liberty sales totaled here over the last three years combined. Even taking into consideration that the 250,000 units will be distributed beyond US borders, that's an ambitious volume figure full-stop - and that's without taking into consideration the new Cherokee's love/hate design. In its favor, though, Jeep is making remarkable inroads globally as of late, and the Cherokee's size could work well in emerging markets. To get that kind of output from Toledo's Cherokee assembly line, Chrysler will reportedly hire 1,105 new workers - that's in addition to the 200 workers already being hired to build the popular Jeep Wrangler, which is itself expected to top 220,000 units this year.

Chrysler adding 200 jobs at Ohio Jeep Wrangler plant

Fri, 15 Mar 2013

Chrysler is betting that the Jeep Wrangler will continue its strong sales surge as it continues to push the legendary brand out across the globe. The Auburn Hills automaker is reportedly adding 200 workers at the Toledo, Ohio plant that builds the Wrangler. What's more, those new hires will be at their posts quickly - they'll be on the job by April 1. Of those 200 workers, 130 employees will be there to relieve those who need breaks.
Why do they need so many relief workers? The Toledo Jeep Complex is currently working at a torrid pace with two ten-hour shifts. A third shift has been ruled out for the moment because of a production botttleneck - the plant's paint shop is already maxed out. According to Reuters, Wrangler production in 2012 cleared 200,000 units, and US sales were up by 16 percent.
Another part of the Toledo plant is presently down as Chrysler retools the line to build Jeep's divisively styled Liberty replacement, the Cherokee (seen in our gallery below). Production for the new model is scheduled to begin toward the end of May.

Jeep Renegade signed by the Rolling Stones brings in $46k for charity

Thu, Jan 1 2015

What do Jeep and the Rolling Stones have in common? Well, they've both have been around for longer than most of us, they seem just about indestructible, and not long after one shipped out from America to help save Britain, the other lead the British Invasion of America. But the two enduring icons also came together this past summer as one sponsored the other's European tour. And while they were in Rome, Jeep had the members of the legendary rock group sign a new Renegade that just went up for auction. Bearing the signatures of the immortal Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts, this star-studded, pint-sized off-roader – the first Jeep to be built in Italy – sold for an impressive $46,000 to an anonymous bidder. That's about two-and-a-half times what the new pebble-crawler is expected to sell for when it reaches showrooms. Proceeds from the sale, handled by Charitybuzz.com, will benefit Community Links, a social-inclusion organization based in London. View 56 Photos
