Started out as a 1991 Comanche Eliminator 4x4 short bed, which is a rare find by itself. This is a California truck with absolutely no RUST. This is the first year of the high output motor, better cooling system, better EFI system, etc...SPECS: 1997+ front end.Desert tan (Almond satin) paint job(looks great), no clear coat, easy touch up for brush scratches. body is striaght. 4.0ho engine from 1994 cherokee with 140,000. motor runs great, I use Rotella t6 oil. the instrument cluster was replaced 2 times by previous owners( due to mechanical issues with the tachometer, which I fixed). so the exact mileage is hard to determine, but from what the previous owners have stated, the jeep should be around 150,000 miles, and the jeeps condition shows this as well . Has polyurethane Browndog motor mounts, 63mm throttle body(great throttle response/Low end/smog legal), flowmaster 44, new catalytic converter, mechanical coolant gauge. optima red top battery. Will pass smog. Clutch was replaced when engine was replaced. still feels like new. ax-15 5 speed that works great. np231 transfer case, no issues.HP Dana 30 (abs model/thicker shafts) with lower control arm skids, raised sway bar mounts, NEW polyurethane upper control arm bushings, NEW 4.88s gears. open diff.Dana 44 rear raised shock mounts, NEW 4.88s with limited slip, ruffstuff cover. Hannemann fiberglass front fenders and bedsides.roll on bed liner in good shape. 36x12.5x15 super swamper radial tsl's with less than 500miles on them. 15x10 black steel rims. $1600 new, and they are basicly still new. Sleeved tie rod, steering is fairly tight(drives GOOD AT 65). Steering box brace.Rustys long arms. pro-comp shocks-mid level. 6-7" Rusty's springs. Extended-brake lines, spring over in rear with longer shackle, not sure if oem leafs or not. JKS sway bar disconnects. I actually run without a sway bar around town as it is pretty stable with out one.Big drop pitman arm. Corbeau GT-7 seats, pretty nice for a jeep. nice deck, crappy speakers. New carpet kit and insulation. Bed liner material on center console, I like it. No headliner. Brakes have a ton of life left.Nice custom rear bumper with receiver. I have a TON of time and money into this thing. it needs nothing and turns heads and recieves thumbs up every time i drive it. Selling due to being unemployed and needing to sell the toys.. I have MANY pictures of this thing. let me know what you want pictures of. You will never see another truck like this anywhere. I am a mechanic by trade, and I have kept up on maintenance very well, ALL fluids have been changed recently. This truck was not beat on, just mainly a errand truck for around town and I took it out to a off-road park a couple times to check the suspension. . I would really like to keep the truck, but the bills are piling up.

FCA recalls 1.1 million vehicles worldwide due to confusing shifter
Fri, Apr 22 2016Fiat Chrysler is recalling 1.1 million vehicles worldwide to address the problematic shifter used on cars with eight-speed automatic transmissions. The issue is that the console-mounted shifter acts like a rocker switch and always returns to the middle position after moved. This has been deemed confusing to drivers – confusing enough to cause some to exit their vehicles without first selecting Park and leading to the car rolling away. FCA says 41 injuries are related to the shifter problem, and no evidence of equipment failure has been found. The company will enhance warning chimes and alter the shift strategy, meaning alert messages will be displayed in case the driver door is opened while the engine is running. With the door open, the transmission will prevent the car from moving even if Park is not selected. The affected vehicles are certain model-year 2012–2014 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 sedans, as well as model-year 2014–2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs, an estimated 811,586 US vehicles in total. The recall also affects 52,144 vehicles in Canada, 16,805 in Mexico, and 248,667 vehicles elsewhere. The shifter is used with ZF-designed and ZF-built eight-speed automatic; Audi uses a similar shifter setup in some of its vehicles, including the current-generation, which predated Chrysler's use of it. Chrysler uses a different, a rotating-dial-type shifter on eight-speed-equipped Rams. The company moved away from the problem shifter design in 2015 for the Charger and 300, and the Grand Cherokee's shift lever was modified for 2016. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified of the recall when service is available. Fiat Chrysler urges customers to follow the instructions in the vehicle's owner's manual in the meantime. Jeep Begins Fixing 1.56 Million Recalled Grand Cherokee, Liberty SUVs
Tue, Jan 14 2014Chrysler is just now beginning the big job of fixing 1.56 million older Jeep SUVs seven months after a recall was announced, according to The Detroit News. Jeep Grand Cherokees sold between 1992 and 1998 and Jeep Liberty models sold between 2002 and 2007 are being recalled because the gas tank can leak in the event of a rear-end collision, leading to a fire. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration originally requested the recall of 2.7 million vehicles. Chrysler initially disputed NHTSA's findings and seemed willing to go through a court battle until an 11th-hour deal reduced the number of vehicles involved in the recall. The remaining vehicle owners left out of the recall will receive a "customer service action" notification and may not get fixed. Chrysler says the vehicles are safe and need no repairs. Fixing the 1.56 million Jeeps will cost Chrysler $151 million. NHTSA cited 51 deaths causes by such tank fires. Chrysler plans to install protective trailer hitches to protect the gas tanks, but even the automaker admits the hitches will only provide incremental protection in a low-to-moderate speed rear-end crash. 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Alaska Cannonball | 14,000 miles to Deadhorse and back
Fri, Jul 27 2018I've never delayed big adventure long enough to fill a bucket. But I do have a bucket item that dates to 1992: drive from Deadhorse, Alaska, to Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. Twenty-six years later, it's time. But first, I needed a vehicle. And a Jeep Wrangler was not my first choice. Growing up as a kid in the Midwest, I loved Jeeps. But around 10 years ago I went on a camping trip to Death Valley with a colleague, testing the early JK Wrangler against the competition. By the end of it, I couldn't justify the ergonomic and physical punishment for the admittedly massive capability. So two years ago, I bought a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser project truck to make the journey. I paid too much, and the Cruiser revealed itself to be not a garage project, but the Manhattan Project. I took this as a good omen. Adventure begins in the deep end, so why wait to get there? During a break from discovering enough gremlins to reboot the movie franchise, I had dinner with Jeep's West Coast PR guy. I mentioned my plans for a six-month overlanding trek to Alaska. He said, "You know, we've got a new Wrangler coming out — that might be a good test of the chassis." My outside voice said, "That would be interesting." My inside voice said, "Hmmm." Anything's possible after 10 years, right? I might like it. Might. Many plans have gone awry on the way to this moment. It's taken more than a year to lock in a start date, because Jeep couldn't spare a Wrangler Rubicon. Everyone else in America keeps buying them. A suitable Wrangler was found eventually, but now the deed had to be done in three months, not six. What was going to be a comfortably-paced, backwoods roll up to Alaska and back has turned into the Rubicon Overland Cannonball. I know 14 weeks is plenty of time to drive to the Arctic and back. (Tierra del Fuego is officially off the itinerary.) However, the point of this trip is to fit in as much dirt, as many bucket-list trails, and all the wild America possible. That means my route's about 14,000 convoluted miles of criss-crossing the country in all the cardinal directions. And that's assuming everything goes to plan. Until last week, I was doing this trip with a friend from college who lives in Marietta, Georgia. He was the photo/video guy. Then he had a medical emergency, so the only trip he's taking is to the OR and rehab. Now I'm going by myself, and I think it's important to point out that I have no idea what I'm doing. That isn't modesty, that's truth: zero clue.
