Looking to start a new project so I am selling my jeep.60th anniversary edition 01 (these are rare, seat pattern only on these, only came in black or silver) XJ, 4.0 auto with every thing stock replaced, radiator, plugs, every sensor, belt, new ac, and more. 5.5 lift , sye, near new 33" mudders, (20/32), spartan locker, solid diff cover , 4 week disc conversion, keyless/remote start and just a Ton more to list . Clear title Only trade considered is a tj or a stock XJ 4x4 and cash (97+). Email for questions . Ready to make a deal today. She's got everything done to her and go right to the trail today! Just in past 2 weeks put in a new radiator, transmission cooler, brand new windshield, and had a 4 wheel alignment, also had interior detailed. She flexes amazing and the bump stops are set to let the tire stuff right up to the fenders, but not actually make contact, this took a lot of dialing in. The quick disco sway bar links make it drivable on the highway, and then you get to flexin once off pavement with just the pull of a cotter pin.
This is just from memory, I'm sure I missed a a few things. but you get the picture, you are getting a smoking a deal. Don't let the miles scare you, approx 225k on body as I am driving it some still, but only about 180k on motor, and transmission was replaced when motor was replaced with rebuilt trans. Shifts perfect. The head liner material has been pulled but not replaced yet, headliner foam currently installed. and there is some trail rash , or badges of honor on the body from rising, but hey, that's why you are buying this trail rider and not mall crawler. Nothing that effects performance, in fact they actually make you more cooler to the Jeep club you are about to join and show them how it is done in the XJ. She is point and go, and where you want to take it. Winch bumper on the front, but winch is not included just to keep price down. Show those WRANGLER guys what's up as you walk the dog past them in the XJ blasting your ice cold AC with the windows up to drive around them and pull them out. QUESTIONS ARE ASKED BEFORE YOU BID AND I CAN SHOW YOU THE JEEP ALSO WHICH IS ACTUALLY ENCOURAGED. DEPOSIT OF $300 VIA PAYPAL IS DUE RIGHT AFTER AUCTION ENDS AND THE REST IS CASH IN PERSON, I AM IN OVIEDO FLORIDA NEAR UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA. NO FUNNY BUSINESS .

Federal investigations about safety of rear-mounted gas tanks is nothing new
Sun, 09 Jun 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Chrysler are currently making waves in our daily news feeds due to a disagreement over the safety of a few million Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models. Specifically, NHTSA has asked Chrysler to recall the SUVs because of the location of their fuel tanks, but you may be interested to know that requests such as this are nothing new.
Besides the two Jeep models, NHTSA has launched investigations over the years in such models as the Ford Crown Victoria (and its police-car counterpart), GM pickups built between 1972 and 1987, and rather famously the Ford Pinto.
Understanding how automakers and NHTSA have dealt with fuel-tank-safety concerns in the past may offer a better understanding of how Chrysler and the government agency will settle their current dispute. Check out the complete article from The Detroit News here.
Weekly Recap: GM scales back as Russian auto market teeters
Sat, Mar 21 2015General Motors' extensive plans to scale back its Russian operations are the latest sign the automotive market in the former superpower is collapsing – and there are few signs of recovery. GM said Wednesday it will stop selling mainstream Chevrolets and shutter the entire Opel brand in Russia. The moves leave GM with a luxury-focused presence consisting of Cadillac and Chevrolet's Corvette, Camaro and Tahoe. The cutbacks will be completed by the end of the year. The automaker will also idle its factory in St. Petersburg and end a contract-assembly agreement with Russian manufacturer GAZ. "We had to take decisive action in Russia to protect our business," Opel Group CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann said in a statement. "We confirm our outlook to return the European business to profitability in 2016 and stick to our long-term goals." GM is the latest automaker to scale back in Russia as the economic conditions, volatile currency and uncertainty over the conflict in the Ukraine all have sandbagged new car sales. Last month, vehicle sales collapsed 38 percent in Russia to 128,298 units, according to the Association of European Business, which records sales. Joerg Schreiber, chairman of the AEB automobile manufacturers committee, didn't even feign optimism in a statement announcing the figures. "The market is entering a very difficult phase now, and February is only the beginning," he said. "Industry sentiment is the next few months will be extremely difficult and the market bottom has yet to be found." The dovetails with industry experts, who predict the Russian auto sector will remain in the doldrums. IHS said earlier this year it expects Russia's sales to slip to just 1.8 million units in 2015, which is a 40-percent drop from 2012. Other News & Notes Chief leads Jeep's Easter Safari stable Jeep is bringing seven attention-getting concepts to Moab for its annual Easter Safari off-roading celebration in Utah, but the Chief is perhaps the standout of the group. It salutes the 1970s Cherokee with a throwback appearance and surfer styling cues. The Chief has a custom modified razor grille made famous by the Wagoneer, and it rolls on 17-inch slotted mag wheels. The surf theme comes in with ocean blue paint, floral cloth and leather seats and a tiki-style shifter handle. Based on the Jeep Wrangler, the Chief has removable sides, a 3.6-liter V6 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox.
2015 Jeep Renegade Sport 4x4 Quick Spin [w/video]
Tue, Jun 23 2015Which is the most entertaining Jeep Renegade you can get? While one might make an argument for the Trailhawk model and its accompanying off-road hardware and consequential go-anywhere ability, that car comes with one glaring flaw – its 2.4-liter engine and nine-speed automatic transmission just aren't very entertaining. Instead, I submit the turbocharged, 1.4-liter base engine and its accompanying six-speed manual, a position that was reinforced after a recent stint behind the wheel of a very basic Sport 4x4. Not only do you get a fair amount of the Trailhawk's off-road ability – the Selec-Terrain system and a 4WD Lock mode are standard, but you'll be without the 20:1 crawl ratio and Rock off-road mode – you'll also enjoy a more dynamically interesting powertrain. Read on to see why the force-induced Renegade might just be the way to go. Driving Notes My first date with the Renegade was on the mostly empty, winding roads of northern California. There, the 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-four with 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque felt fine – with no traffic and few stoplights along the drive route, it was easy to keep the engine on boil. But this engine isn't as enjoyable in day-to-day suburban traffic. Power arrives suddenly – peak torque comes between 2,500 and 4,000 rpm – and if you don't use it, you lose it. There's not much oomph in the higher end of the rev range. With such a peaky powerband, it's easy to get caught flat-footed if you're not paying attention. Thankfully the manual transmission makes it simple to stay engaged and in the correct gear. The stick-shift is enjoyable to use, with a firm clutch that's easy to modulate and shift action that isn't sloppy or vague. The 1.4-liter engine sounds good. Turn down the stereo, stomp on the throttle, and you'll be treated to a delicious turbo whistle and a smooth exhaust note. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I want Mopar to offer the Fiat 500 Abarth's exhaust on the Renegade. It'd be fun. If you do prefer the stereo, know that the Renegade's standard four-speaker unit is weak. Base models don't offer Bluetooth or satellite radio, but you can add both of those luxuries, two extra speakers, and a five-inch touchscreen for just $695. Not a bad bargain. The Koni frequency selective dampers do an excellent job of managing both small, frequent imperfections (like freeway expansion joints), and the bigger potholes that still haven't been fixed after the havoc of Detroit's winter.
