Up for sale is a highly modified, professionally built 2 Door XJ Cherokee. I am listing and selling this Jeep for a friend of a fallen comrade in our wheeling group.
Specs: 1998 Jeep XJ Cherokee 2 Door Sport Mileage: 154,xxx Engine/Trans: 4.0L Six Cylinder & Automatic Transmission This Jeep has it all. A fully built, professionally equipped rig that is extremely capable and offered at a fraction of what it would cost to replicate. Mechanical: Grade 8/10 Starting with the drivetrain. The Jeep retains its original 4.0L Six Cylinder engine and trans. These motors carry a great reputation throughout the Jeep community as being "bulletproof" and have more than enough torque and power to turn the 35" tires. Engine runs and drives strong with plenty of life left. - D30 front axle with D44 Rear Axle - Disc brakes all the way around - 4.56 Gears - ARB Air lockers front and rear. (currently the ARB compressor is out of the truck, and it will need a new compressor or air source for the lockers). Chinese Jeep production confirmed with Fiat, Guangzhou agreement
Wed, 21 Aug 2013Fiat has just finalized a deal originally set up in January between it and China's Guangzhou Automotive Group to bring Jeep production to China. It remains unclear which models will be built, although we're wagering that it'll be the 2014 Cherokee. What we do know, now, is where production will take place.
According to Automotive News, Guangzhou originally wanted production to take place in its home assembly plant in its namesake city. Fiat has battled to send production to a joint venture facility established between Guangzhou and Fiat in the town of Changsha. The joint facility won out, and now the factory, originally built in 2010 with a 140,000-unit capacity, will see Jeeps rolling out of it.
Currently, the GAC-Fiat factory produces the Fiat Viaggio, a jointly developed product that is closely related to America's Dodge Dart. And while it remains unclear as to which model will join the Viaggio on the assembly line, that model is understood to ride on Fiat's Compact platform. The only Jeep to share those underpinnings is the new Cherokee, so there's not much connecting of dots needed to see why this scenario would make sense.
Jeep lays out 5-year plan, including rebirth of Grand Wagoneer and new C-segment offering
Tue, 06 May 2014Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Machionne presented a five-year plan for the company brands this morning, with Jeep first up on a long day of presentation. Jeep's head honcho Michael Manley wasted no time in laying out what the foreseeable future will look like for what he calls the "lead global brand" of the company.
Big goals for the next half-decade will include expanding the lineup from five nameplates built in one country, to six nameplates build in six countries. That expansion of models will include both a three-row competitor, and, of course, a small vehicle to slot below Cherokee. The company is also seeking to add a whopping 1,300 dealers over the next few years, to sell all this new metal, and has an aggressive goal of doubling Jeep sales by the time 2018 rolls around.
As expected, that first salvo from the off-road brand will be the debut of the much ballyhooed Renegade small crossover in the third quarter of this year. Jeep has already designated that Renegade will get refreshed for the 2017 model year, as well.

With the long-awaited sixth-generation of one of America's most iconic vehicles, the Mustang, and a ground-breaking update for the US market's perennial best seller, the F-Series, it should come as no surprise at all that Ford was Google's most searched for automaker in 2014. Jeep captured second place, while Dodge, took third. We suspect introducing a pair of cars with 707 horsepower had something to do with that bronze medal...
