This is a rare four door 1996 Jeep Cherokee 2x4 The lovely all original survivor offered here to the eBay community is like new. -142,485carefully driven highway miles (looks like it has less than 1/2 the miles) -Runs and drives awesomely -100% rust free body, chassis and frame - New Radiator - New thermostat - Freash oil - New oil filter - New radiator hose -Fresh coolant -All original paint -No dents with the exception of small golf ball and BB size dents on driver and passenger door (see pics) -Everything works except the radio which is disconnected and will not be included -Ice cold air conditioning -All original drivetrain, paint, body and interior -Very crisp and clean -Virtually no wear whatsoever with the exception of paint on hood and roof -The engine does not leak, smoke, overheat or make any unusual noises known by me -Accelerates extremely well -The transmission shifts on the mark -The idle speed is as smooth as a Rolex watch -Never off-road -The entire drivetrain is very solid and tight -The brakes, steering and suspension are all in tip top condition -All original owners manuals -Tires are in great condition with lots of tread -Interior is like new -One of the center caps is missing for the rim -Spare tire/wheel is in trunk never used -plastic casing around radio is cracked -Rare trouble free manual window option This is by far one of the nicest and cleanest Jeep 2x4's i have ever come across. Watch this 650-hp Hennessey Jeep Grand Cherokee go from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds
Tue, 14 May 2013Hennessey Performance Engineering has created an HPE650 package for the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT fitted with the 6.4-liter Hemi engine. When it leaves the showroom floor it has 470 horsepower and gets from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds. When it leaves Hennessey's garage floor after the upgrade it has 650 horsepower - 530 hp at the wheels, according to Hennessey - and gets to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds on its way to running the quarter-mile in 12.6 seconds.
There's more than just a Roots-type supercharger bolt-on, with ported cylinder heads and high-flow headers among the many changes made to the engine. You can watch this pre-2014 facelift silver model prove its spec sheet on the drag strip in the video below.
2014 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]
Tue, 10 Dec 2013The 2014 North American International Auto Show is right around the corner, which means it's high time we found out which cars and trucks would be finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards.
The finalists - three in cars and three in three trucks/utilities - are dominated by American brands, with two-thirds of the finalists hailing from either General Motors or Chrysler (don't worry Ford, there's always next year), while outliers from Mazda and Acura can be found in each contest. 2014 Jeep Cherokee uncovered with bold new look
Fri, 22 Feb 2013Jeep has been shuttling around Alfa Romeo-based test mules and camouflaged prototypes of its replacement for the current Liberty for some time now. Those heavily disguised vehicles may have offered a glimpse of the new Jeep, but a new set of production-line images from Jalopnik tell a much more complete story.
Jalopnik report indicates unequivocally that the Cherokee name will be re-upped in place of Liberty, though it doesn't spell out exactly where that thinking comes from, though a name change has been rumored for some time. Chances are good that the same source that delivered these factory images delivered the name, as well.
The Cherokee absolutely has some Alfa Romeo DNA in its makeup, the final product is far from looking like its Guilietta ancestor. The athletic, high-waisted design is relatively attractive from what we can see here, though the grille and headlight treatment are sure to cause a lot of ruckus when the Cherokee makes its official debut at the New York Auto Show in April. The very narrow, pointed headlamps are pinched in a not particularly Jeep-ish fashion, and the curved, short version of the seven-slot grille is far more rakish than anything that Jeep has produced to date.
