For sale is a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country with four wheel drive. It runs and drives with no problems and is being sold with no reserve. The legendary 4.0L six cylinder engine purrs along without a miss, smoke or over heat. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly without hesitation. No four wheel drive problems. The brakes, suspension and steering seem normal. No exhaust leaks. The exterior is in better that average condition for the age. You might find a scratch or two but it has no major dents or dings. There is the normal surface rust on the unpainted parts under the truck such as springs, axles, etc. but no body rust. The windshield is crack or chip free. The lights and lenses are bright and clear. The decorative door moulding on the driver side is missing. The tires, on factory alloy wheels, have about 25% tread (see pic). The interior is in good condition but could use a good cleaning. No wear areas except on the driver seat. The power options such as windows, locks, cruise control work as designed. The radio is missing but the wiring harness is there. The heat is hot but the AC is warm and may need a charge. This Jeep Cherokee is mechanically sound but could use some cosmetic TLC. We have sold Jeeps with the 4.0L engine with over 300K miles. They are made to go the distance. There are no current mechanical problems and no indication of any impending issues. The new owner will be able to drive home with confidence. This pre-owned Cherokee is being sold by a Maryland Used Car Dealer. Fiat 500X poised for Paris catwalk
Wed, 05 Feb 2014We've known for some time that the new, Fiat-based baby Jeep (which may or may not be called the Jeepster) is set to arrive at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. What we weren't sure of was whether its platform mate, the so-called Fiat 500X, would be doing so alongside or at a later date. Well, according to Reuters, we'll get to see the first all-wheel-drive 500 later this year in the City of Lights.
Yes, we can expect the 500X to arrive at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, according to an official with an Italian trade union. The unnamed source cited retooling at Fiat's Melfi factory, in southern Italy, which currently produces the Grande Punto. It's expected that the newest member of the growing 500 family will replace the Suzuki SX4-based Fiat Sedici, although when the X will go on sale remains an open question.
According to Reuters, both the Jeepster and 500X will be built alongside each other in Italy. Whether the 500X will cross the pond with it's slat-grilled cousin, though, remains to be seen (we're leaning towards yes).
Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango to lose color options temporarily
Wed, 19 Nov 2014In the market for a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango? Well, if you fancy a more expressive color for your new SUV, you'd better get your order in, or plan on waiting until well into 2015.
The SUVs will be limited to just four monochromatic shades - black, white, silver and gray - until at least February, thanks to an upgrade to the paint shop at the two vehicles' Jefferson North factory. For the Grand Cherokee, that means it's losing more than half its color palette while the Durango is dropping two-thirds of its color catalog.
The loss of colors is inconvenient, but the upgrade will have a slightly bigger effect on the overall supply of SUVs, as Chrysler will need to end its relentless build pace at the factory for a three-week shutdown starting on December 22. The good news for fans of the SUVs is that once the work is completed, we should see a gradual expansion of the color palettes for both the Durango and Grand Cherokee, beyond even what's offered now.
