Thank you for viewing this 97 Jeep Cherokee Country edition with the legendary 4.0L engine First let me start out by saying…. Some one took good care of this Jeep and it sure shows. Its not perfect but wow. The exterior paint is in good condition and shows minor blemishes here or there. The reason I say minor blemishes is because your expectations of a small scratch may be different from mine. This Jeeps body looks good. The vehicle's interior looks great and it is in far better condition than what is expected for its age.  All interior components seem to be in good working order. The A/C was not working and needed a new line. Put that on and wow does this baby put out some cold A/C. The engine starts right up with absolutely no problems and the transmission shifts very smoothly. This Jeep runs and drives great and would make a great reliable 4x4 for somebody. Not a normal turd of a car. You will not be disappointed. To make this auction even more appealing we have decided to offer it for a 7 DAY AUCTION with NO RESERVE. All of our listings include standard equipment and can vary at times from the actual vehicle so if you see something listed and not pictured please call to verify. Jeep Wrangler Polar is a tasty frozen treat

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

Perhaps it's because we've seen so many kitted-out examples over the years, but it seems to us that the Jeep Wrangler tends to wear its special-edition duds better than most models. It might be the icon's familiar rectilinear proportions or the inherent bolt-on look of its extremities - bumpers, mirrors, lighting, and step rails - but we've seen precious few factory specials that look anything but excellent.
Case in point: this new Jeep Wrangler Polar unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This European-market limited-edition model is said to be a celebration of winter driving, which evidently works out to a body-color hardtop, black-accent seven-slot grille, 18-inch gloss black wheels, Trac-Lok limited-slip differential and a hard hat for the spare tire. Finished here in Hydro Blue (Billet Silver Metallic and Bright White are also available) and a black interior with Polar White accents, the Polar edition features badges displaying 78° S and 106° E longitude and latitude coordinates for Vostok, Antarctica.
This new Jeep will be available in both standard and Unlimited formats with either the 3.6-liter Pentastar gas engine or the still-not-for-US 2.8-liter turbodiesel when it bows early next year. For further details, check out our gallery above and the press release below.

Happy 50th birthday, Jeep Wagoneer

Thu, 02 May 2013

The Wagoneer got the SUV on the radar of buyers looking for something capable, comfortable and rugged.
The Jeep Wagoneer was introduced 50 years ago, and it's that vehicle we have to thank for the herds of excellent crossovers and SUVs that make up our current automotive landscape. On a personal level, I have always loved the full-size Jeeps and their crisp Brooks Stevens styling, which aged well over their long tenure on the market. The SJs, as they're known among enthusiasts, were the Wagoneer and its two-door counterpart, the original Cherokee. The Wagoneers had become true luxury vehicles by the end of their run, which stretched form late 1962 as a '63 model all the way to 1991, when they were offered exclusively under the Grand Wagoneer nameplate.

Jeep Liberty under investigation for door fires

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

The Jeep Liberty has already had plenty of attention for possible fires thanks to the first-gen model's fuel tank, but now the midsize Jeep is under the microscope of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for another fire-related concern. NHTSA has opened an investigation for the 2012 Liberty after receiving two reports of electrical fires in the driver's door.
According to the investigation summary, around 80,000 vehicles could potentially be affected by this problem. In both reported fires, the drivers noticed smoke and then flames from the master power window switch, and they had to pull to a stop and exit through the passenger side of the SUV. According to Autoguide, there was one injury to a motorist who suffered burned fingers while trying to open the driver's door.
Interestingly, the Dodge Nitro is not yet involved in this investigation, even though it was still around for the 2012 model year; the Nitro ended production in 2011 about a year before the final Liberty rolled off the line for the 2013 model year. Scroll down for the official NHTSA investigation summary.
