This was meant to be my project that I would keep forever but I have done what I can and it is now time for someone else to take over.

I purchased this from a family in the Southwest. It belonged to their grandfather and had sat for years with little use. This was a couple years ago. At that time the transmission had just been rebuilt and so had the engine. But it still needed a little more. I have replaced the body mounts, fuel pump, battery, ignition with a MSD ignition, brake pads, clutch, radiator, Borgeson steering shaft, steering box, shocks, seats throughout, Bestop soft top, seat belts, CD player, heater motor, plugs & wires, alternator and brake lines. One nice thing about an old Jeep is that most parts are pretty cheap.

The Jeep runs strong and was my daily driver until I succumb to the cold weather and bought a new Jeep. It does still need a few things and always will, its a Jeep. A little body rust as seen in the photos. This Jeep is not perfect but a very strong base to complete a restoration or even just continue to be daily a driver. You will love it in the summer especially, as I did.

The tires are 33"X12.50". I do have the hardtop and barrier that goes below the hardtop and of course will be included with the sale. I also have a spare tire not in the photos that is the same size and type that will be included. 4X4 works fine. The gears shift smoothly. The engine runs strong. It just passed a local safety and emission inspection 3 months ago. This truck is road ready.

Apart from the body rust seen, the tachometer doesn't work because of the MSD ignition but can be fixed with an electronic tachometer. The gas gauge shows half when it is actually full. The dash clock doesn't work. The rear view mirror just popped off but will be included. The odometer is not accurate. Mileage is unknown.

I think that is everything but if you have questions don't be shy.

No reserve.

Toyota, Lexus dominate KBB's Best Resale Value Awards

Tue, 19 Nov 2013

Toyota and Lexus stormed the 2014 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards, winning a combined 18 categories including best brand and best luxury brand. This marks the third year in a row that both automakers have won the Brand and Luxury Brand resale value awards. In all, Toyota won 11 categories and Lexus won seven.
Honda made a good showing, as well, winning two segments (Accord Plug-In Hybrid and Civic Si) and putting one car on the top-10 Best Resale Value list (CR-V). Chevrolet did even better, winning two segments (with the V6 Camaro and the Corvette) and placing three cars on the top-10-overall list (again, the Camaro and Corvette, plus the Silverado 1500).
The other winners came from Jeep, Dodge, Infiniti, Subaru and Audi. To give you a clearer picture of the Toyota and Lexus domination, their 18 mentions represents more than half of the 34 awards (including the top-10-overall list).

Ward's releases 10 Best Interiors list for 2014

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

While we're still a ways off from the automotive awards season proper, where things like North American Car and Truck of the Year, Motor Trend's Car of the Year and Car and Driver's Ten Best are named, that doesn't mean there aren't trophies being handed out to deserving automakers. Ward's 10 Best Interiors being one of them.
As the name might imply, the magazine focuses on the very best interior treatments in the US market. Whereas some awards purposely exclude extreme, high-dollar offerings, Ward's considers them - the only requirement is that a vehicle has a "new or significantly redesigned interior."
Ward's offered up the list of winners in simple, alphabetical order, and it only seems fair to do the same:

Chrysler defies NHTSA, says it won't recall 2.7M Jeep Grand Cherokee, Liberty models

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Facing a possible recall totaling around 2.7 million of its most popular SUVs, Chrysler remains insistent that the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty are safe vehicles. This comes on the heels of a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for these two models due to fuel tanks mounted behind the rear axle, which could possibly be ruptured during severe rear-end collisions, leading to an increased risk of fire. In response to the allegations, Chrysler says that it does not agree with NHTSA nor does it plan on recalling either vehicle.
Chrysler said both SUVs "met and exceeded" the requirements for fuel-system integrity, and cooperated fully with NHTSA since the investigation was opened in 2010. While 15 deaths and 46 injuries have been reported from fires caused by rear-end collisions on these models, Chrysler is claiming that the vast majority of incidents cited by NHTSA were "high-energy crashes," including one where a stopped Grand Cherokee was rear-ended by a tractor trailer going 65 miles per hour.
The automaker wraps up by saying "NHTSA seems to be holding Chrysler Group to a new standard for fuel tank integrity that does not exist now and did not exist when the Jeep vehicles were manufactured." Scroll down for Chrysler's official response to NHTSA, but we're pretty sure this isn't the last we've heard on this issue.
