Beautiful, Rugged Cj5 on 2040-cars
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States
I bought this jeep from the original owners several years ago. I absolutely love this jeep, and hate to sell it - it makes you happy to drive. Straight six, runs strong, no leaks, 102,000 miles! I would estimate I have spent over 8k in improvements - without fail I am complimented and get offers to buy it every day I drive it. Seriously, a crazy cool, sexy jeep. Read all of this before bidding!!
Four speed manual. Original warn winch. Full roll cage. Original paint in great condition. EVERYTHING NEW WITHIN THE LAST 1000 MILES: New seats. Ready for 4-point harness. New retracting seat belts with shoulder harness. New fuel tank and lines. New steering wheel, linkage, etc. New 3" skyjacker suspension - softer ride but better off road capabilities. New springs, Rancho shocks, shackles, etc. New fender flares, black accent pieces and black diamond plates New carpet throughout New stereo and speakers NEW BEST-TOP! (Full top with doors, etc), only on jeep once. New wheels and oversized tires (have over 2k in wheels and tires) with less that 100 miles on them. New lights: Headlights, front, side and rear indicators. I have had this jeep garaged since I bought it and restored it. What it needs: Needs new starter - once I put in new starter (this coming weekend) I will relist with a $1000 higher reserve. Needs carb work or new carb - set as lean as it will go it still runs a little rich. Original carb; probably best to replace it with a more current Edelbrock. Brakes need bleeding as they pull to the left in a hard brake. Turn signals needs to be connected. |

Watch the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat blast off
Thu, Jan 21 2016It's all but official. Jeep will produce a Hellcat version of the Grand Cherokee with crazy horsepower. We mean crazy. Today, our spy shooters have captured video footage of this demonic creation. It's pretty short, but you can see a dark Grand Cherokee launch with vigor and then brake hard to a halt. We think we detect the whine of a supercharger amid the commotion. Jeep boss Mike Manley has said on video that the JGC Hellcat will arrive before the end of next year. Specs aren't known, but it seems likely that the Jeep Hellcat will share the blown 6.2-liter V8 used in the Charger and Challenger Hellcats. We've also heard rumors the Trackhawk name could be used for this vehicle. In those applications, the beastly Hemi pumps out 707 manic horsepower. Really, why wouldn't you do this? Jeep sales surged 22 percent around the world last year to 1.2 million, the brand's best year ever. Clearly, Jeep decided it was time to add an extreme performance vehicle. Jeep already sells an SRT model that pumps out 475 hp, so adding a top-end Hellcat seems logical. And a Hell of a lot of fun. Related Video:
25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango SUVs recalled over brake feel
Mon, 10 Mar 2014Chrysler has announced that it is recalling over 25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from several markets over concerns about brake feel under hard braking. The affected models are from the 2012 and 2013 model years, although the actual dates of production aren't available. 18,700 are in the US, while 825 are in Canada, 530 are in Mexico and a further 5,200 outside of North America.
According to a statement, Chrysler was informed of the issue by a component supplier for the Ready Alert Braking system, which primes the brakes in anticipation of an emergency stop. A component in the system was restricting the flow of brake fluid too much.
As Chrysler is quick to point out, the way the brakes functioned was in compliance with regulations and there are no reported cases of drivers losing braking power. Instead, the issue rests with what Chrysler calls a pedal feel that "was not consistent with customer expectations." So it would seem Chrysler is being proactive and fixing a problem not because there's a legal issue at work, but simply because it doesn't feel the way the manufacturer wants it to. Well done.
