If you have been looking for a CJ-7 you have found your Jeep. 1986 was the last year of the CJ's and it was the best year made. This Jeep came from the factory with a Hardtop and Hard Doors (which are included in the sale), a 4.2 L/258 cu in Inline 6, Dana 44 Rear Axle and Dana 30 Front Axle. I purchased this Jeep as the third owner in 2001 and completely rebuilt the Jeep. I have only put 25,000 miles on the Jeep and believe there is no significant mechanical portion of the Jeep that has not been rebuilt or replaced. This Jeep comes with 3 tops (Hardtop/Hard Doors, Besttop Softtop and Soft Doors, & Bikini Top.) The interior is Rhinolined and it has Wet Okole neoprene seat covers front and rear. The rear seat is factory original, the fronts are Besttop high back seat. The jeep is the original metal tub and associated parts (windshield, hood, etc.) and there is no active rust or perforation issues. The Jeep was repainted in 2001 and is garage kept. The mechanical goodies are listed below and pay special attention to the custom bumper and features associated with that. Also, look at the spare parts that come with the Jeep, tow strap, fuel and water cans, ammo cans to hold parts/gear, fire extinguishers, etc., you are ready to go on an extended woods trip the day you buy the Jeep. Excavator in China bashes BMW and Jeep out of the way
Tue, Jun 2 2015This Chinese construction site apparently has a zero tolerance policy towards obstacles getting in the way of work. When blocked by a Jeep and a BMW, the operator of this excavator pushes the two vehicles out of the way like they're toys. The Bimmer gets the brunt of the abuse, with the sedan getting lodged up against a fence. The exact context of this clip isn't entirely known, but The Mirror in Britain speculates the vehicles are illegally parked. But that doesn't explain why the excavator crashes through a gate later in the video. Also, this doesn't appear to be the case of a rogue operator taking out some frustrations, because a man with a walkie-talkie is leading the way and seemingly directing the destruction. 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night puts on a dark face
Thu, Nov 19 2015We'd love to tell you that the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT you see above is powered by a hellish 707-horsepower supercharged V8 engine, but we can't. We hope that's coming soon, but in the meantime, we'll all just have to live in a world where an SUV with a 6.4-liter engine sends a mere 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels. So it goes, right? It's not a Trackhawk, and it's not a Hellcat. This is the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night. That basically means it's just like all other 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT models, except that any and all brightwork has been replaced with gloss black bits. To complete the dark and mysterious look, all of the car's badging, its front fascia and its unique set of 20-inch wheels are done up in a satin-black finish. The body can be ordered in Velvet Red, Billet Silver and Granite Crystal (dark grey). Inside, as you'd expect, all the chrome has been painted black, and the black leather seats have silver stitching. Sure, we want to see the Hellcat engine dropped inside the Grand Cherokee SRT just as much as you do, but it's hard to complain about a 4.8-second 0-60 time or a top speed of 160 miles per hour. Jeep Renegade sales being held due to powertrain issue [UPDATE]
Wed, May 20 2015UPDATE: An unnamed FCA US source has clarified to Automotive News that while there is a software issue, it does not concern the transmission. The Jeep Renegade appears to be facing early software problems that are similar to the ones at the introduction of the Cherokee a few years ago. The issue is keeping the brand's latest compact crossover away from dealers until the situation can be resolved. The fault reportedly deals with the software controlling the Renegade's nine-speed automatic transmission. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne briefly talked about what was happening in an interview with Automotive News. "I'm having a very bad engineering day," he said. "It's a combination of attributes of that vehicle that is making my life horrible." The company boss predicted at the longest it could take until mid-June to fix things. Through April, Jeep has sold 5,157 Renegades, including 4,214 of them in that month alone. Autoblog reached out to an FCA US spokesperson to learn more about the software problem, but the company had no comment. Getting the software right to control the nine-speed automatic plagued development of the Cherokee. The issues delayed the model's launch in 2013, and the company was still releasing improvements for some vehicles this year.
