1984 Jeep Cj7 Laredo 5.7l 350 V8 Black 127k Lift Rust Free Original on 2040-cars
Boulder, Colorado, United States
1984 Jeep CJ7 Laredo - 126,900 miles 1984 Jeep CJ7 Laredo is a beautiful classic and original rust free California Jeep. It spent the last 20 years in the desert of California before I brought it back with me to Colorado in February. There is over $20k in aftermarket upgrades (All of the upgrades were completed at or after 100k miles). The engine is incredible and has a lot of power. I can easily travel 70mph driving over the mountain passes here in Colorado comfortably. Not only does it have a great power band with the fuel injected 350v8 and the 700R4 overdrive auto transmission, it is a synch driving in town, on the highway and offroading. When driving 70mph on the highway, the rpm's are only 2000. The custom Rear Dana 60 Differential can withstand the power of the V8 all day long! It is also set up perfectly to conquer the most difficult terrain possible. I would not be afraid to drive this Jeep anywhere. Aftermarket Upgrades Include: * rebuilt1990 Chevy 350 TBI 350v8 *rebuilt 700R4 Automatic Transmission with Rachet shifter *Electric Fuel Pump *Navajo Double Diaphram Power Brake Booster and Corvette Brake Master Cylinder *Custom Build Rear differential Dana 60 with 35 spline chromoly Axel shafts, 4.11 gears and an ARB air Locker *Front Dana 30 Differential with chromoly shafts, 4.11 gears and an ARB Air Locker *15x8 Chrome OEM CJ7 Laredo wheels from 1981 Excellent Condition(rare find) *(5) New 33x12.50x15" BFG KM2 Mud Terrain Tires (still have hairs) *4wp Front Reverse Shackles and 4" Rear suspension *Custom Driveshafts front and rear *Aftermarket Front Leather Seats *Rhino Bed Liner on the inside of the tub *Full Front Roll Cage with new grab handles *Custom Rack for the back included (holds a snowboard, cooler or whatever you need to haul - has hitch too) *Power Steering Brace *Tuffy Center Console with Sony Detachable CD player *Aftermarket heavy duty 20 Gallon Fuel Tank *Custom Rock rails under the doors *Bestop Sunrider soft top with all hardware and clear windows Engine: Rebuilt 1990 Chevrolet 350 5.7L V8 with Throttle Body Injection.. The Jeep runs incredible, sounds fantastic and it doesn't matter if it is cold or hot outside it fires right up thanks to it being fuel injected. It runs great, is super peppy and doesn't leak any fluids. I recently upgraded the radiator with an aluminum unit and relocated the overflow radiator tank closer. Transmission/Transfer Case: 700R4 Automatic Transmission with overdrive is excellent. It shifts great, without play, grinding, slipping or crunching. It has a rachet shifter on it that makes shifting super easy. The transfer case is a Dana 300. It easily goes into gear high and low range 4wheel drive. I do notice a small drip from the transmission and transfer case after driving it the following day. Drivetrain/suspension: The Jeep drives excellent with the lift. The front sway bar has disconnects which is great for off road driving. Each leaf spring has U bolt skid plates so you will never have to worry about breaking a u bolt. There aren't any loud clunks or noises, it is very smooth. The drivetrain is perfectly set up with ARB Air locking differentials, 4.11 gears and chromoly shafts. The power steering is super sensitive and is very easy to steer. The power brake booster was replaced last week with a Navajo double diaphragm and a Corvette master cylinder. The brakes are super sensitive and stop the jeep easily. Interior Controls/Switches: Everything in the interior works great except the factory tach and intermittently the windshield wipers. There is an aftermarket tach on the steering column that works great. The sony CD player/radio is in the center console. There are front dash speakers and rear 6x9s by the roll bar. The Tuffy console adds security however I do not have the key for it. The fuel, speedometer, heater odometer, blinkers, horn, lights etc all work as well. Paint/Body/Rust: The paint is the original Black and original Laredo Striping. The paint is beautiful and very reflective, shiny and lots of luster but still 30 years old and has minor blemishes. The rear fender flares are a custom fit and from a Jeep Wrangler YJ. The Jeep is rust free except for some minor surface rust on the windshield frame hinges. It also has some rock chips on the windshield frame. The frame is rust free and has never been repaired. Behind the passenger rear flare there is some cracking, looks like there was a little body work completed at one time but unsure when exactly. Interior: The interior is nice, the front captains chairs are aftermarket black leather and are extremely comfortable. There is no rear seat or carpet. The inside of the tub has been bed lined. The dash pad does not have any cuts and lastly. Soft Top/Doors: The black soft top is in excellent condition and a bestop sun rider. The doors do not have any rust, the windows roll up and down very easily and the locks work from the inside. Unfortunately I do not have a key for the doors. The doors both have a couple deep scratches and misc light scratches, chips and the drivers side has a little defect. The wing windows open and close with ease and the seal tight. Tires/Wheels: (5) brand new last week 33x12.50x15 BFG KM2 Mud Terrain tires. The wheels are from an 1981 CJ7 Laredo and 15x8 in excellent condition. The clear coat was removed and they shine beautifully! I have the original 15x7 chromed and caps and can swap them out if you want or will include them with the buy it now. Overall: This is a beautiful Jeep and ready to go and a classic that is turn key and ready to go. It would make the perfect weekend warrior, beach runner or mountain adventurer. The CJ7 is used and 30 years old, it may have blemishes, scratches, nicks etc that I didn't capture on my camera. Overall the condition is beautiful! I do my best to illustrate the condition, I may have missed something so be sure to ask all questions you have prior to bidding or winning the Jeep. The Jeep is being sold as is, where is, without warranty or guarantees. I am not required for your state emission or safety inspections including Colorado. Shipping: If you are out of state and need to have this Jeep shipped, call M&E Auto Transport #606-354-3643. Michael is great to work with and offers competitive pricing, quick pickup and delivery. All sales are final. The final payment must be received within 7 days of auction end time. Payment options include cash upon pickup, Electronic Bank Transfer or Wire Transfer. I have sold multiple cars on ebay and can provide references if necessary. I reserve the right to remove the auction at anytime as this Jeep is listed for sale locally as well. Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards
Tue, 27 Nov 2012Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
2014 Easter Jeep Safari kicks off with six concepts
Thu, 10 Apr 2014The 2014 Easter Jeep Safari is set to begin this weekend in Moab, Utah, and while it's sure to be a blast for Jeep enthusiasts from all corners of the world, we're looking forward to the wild, off-road ready concepts that Jeep will be bringing to the red rocks. As you can see in our handy headline, there are six such vehicles in total, each of which sports a variety of tweaks and custom bits.
Unlike in years past, where Jeep graced us with some outrageous concepts like the Mighty FC or J-12, this year's vehicles are a bit more restrained and a bit more buildable by enthusiasts. That's not by accident, officials tell us. They wanted to put this year's focus on attainable vehicles and accessories from Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts that existing owners can use to augment their own vehicles. So let's get to it.
We'll start with the Wranglers first. There are three concepts of the jeepiest of Jeep coming to Moab - the Level Red, Maximum Performance and Mojo. The Level Red and the Mojo (seen above) are similar from a suspension and engine standpoint. Both boast a two-inch Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, which officials tell us is coming to market in the next few months. There are a pair of Dana 44 crate axles on both the front and rear, while a Jeep Performance Parts Rock-Trac transfer case has been fitted. The 3.6-liter V6 engines on both Jeeps can breathe a bit easier thanks to a new cold-air intake and exhaust system.
WWII Jeep 'found in crate' set to cross Greenwich auction block
Thu, 30 May 2013Fans of old military vehicles might want to pay extra close attention to the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance coming up this weekend. Crossing the Bonhams auction block on Sunday are a pair of seemingly flawless World War II Jeeps, which are both expected to fetch serious dollars.
Lot Number 305 at the auction is a 1945 Ford GPW Jeep that has been fully restored, which is expected to command between $35,000 and $45,000. Shortly after the Ford GPW, a potentially more interesting 1944 Willys MB (shown above) will be auctioned off, but Hemmings raises some red flags about this Jeep. First, it is claiming to have been "discovered in its original crate about 30 years ago," but there is no proof or documentation of any sort. Also, it is claiming to be all original, but it was given a paint job "shortly after it was discovered." Even with these questionable descriptions, this Willys could reach between $20,000 and $30,000. Head over to Bonhams' site and Hemmings for more information on both WW2-era Jeeps.
