I am selling my 1983 Jeep Scrambler CJ-8.  This jeep is the Laredo model and has the upgraded features such as tilt steering, in-dash tachometer and clock, carpet floor, bucket seats and center console.  It also has a chrome grill, bumper, wheels, mirrors, and latches.  It really is a nice looking classical jeep.

The jeep runs and drives as good as it looks.  Under the hood is a 258 Cubic Inch (4.2L) straight 6 cylinder motor.  The motor runs perfect!  Starts right up, idles perfect, and accelerates great.  The 5 speed manual transmission is in perfect operating condition, it shifts smoothly and I have never had any problems with it.  The clutch is also in good working condition.  The 4x4 works great, the front hubs are manual locking hubs and  the 4x4 engage lever is in the cab on the floor.

This is a very clean and well maintained Jeep.  If you are reading this you are probably aware of the availability of this model jeep.  Anyone interested is more than welcome to come and test drive the jeep, if you are far away...I assure you that the vehicle runs great!  The jeep is not driven in the winter and is stored in a heated garage.

Serious Buyers Only!

Winner of the auction will be required to make a $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction ending.  The remaining balance shall be paid within 3 days.  I reserve the right to end the auction early.

Next Jeep Wrangler to keep solid axles

Mon, Feb 16 2015

Jeep fans, you're not out of the woods yet, but the latest news is good: Automotive News reports that the next-generation Wrangler will stick with floating solid axles front and rear. Fiat-Chrysler wouldn't comment on the report, but the theory is that the combination of cost, capability, and ease of modification were deciding factors. We're sure the multibillion dollar aftermarket industry is also pleased. Remember, Jeep showed off the lifted Cherokee Dakar Concept at the Easter Jeep Safari last year, but the first ingredient in the recipe for jacking up its independent suspension was, "a whole new suspension." Above that there will be an aluminum body that's smaller than the current one, which Allpar says could be done with a narrower track and tighter gaps. It will sport a fixed windshield with increased rake to improve aero efficiency, and while there are rumors of a diesel-engined version that we'll finally get in the US, there's been no reliable info as of yet to back that up. Another crazy custom Jeep Wrangler spotted in Morocco

Sun, 03 Mar 2013

What in the world is the vehicle you see above? Well, um... yeah. We have no idea. According to the video description from YouTube, however, it's a modified Jeep Wrangler, and it comes from the same person who created the equally insane side-by-side merged Wrangler you saw here.
We can clearly make out the Wrangler-shaped passenger compartment up top, but as for the other bits and pieces that make up this rather amazing machine, your guess is as good as ours. At the very least, it seems to us that the car's wheelbase has been given a significant stretch, and the grille may have come from an International LoneStar Harley-Davidson Special Edition semi truck.
What other components are sourced from the massive International hauler? No idea. We suggest you check out the video below and draw your own conclusions. Oh, and if you've got any other ideas, feel free to let us know in the Comments.

Jeep Wrangler gets the wide-track treatment

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

When we read the tip about a Gulf-state diplomat in Rabat, Morocco who had supposedly "merged two Jeep Wranglers," we figured the two off-roaders were somehow linked front-to-back. Oh no. As you can see in the image above, taken from video of that vehicle actually traveling down the road and needing more than one lane to do it, the two Jeeps were put together side-by-side.
The seriously widebody truck is said to have six wheels, one at each corner and two in the middle. That's about all anyone seems to know about it at the moment, and that's probably enough - in these situations you know better than to ask why, just watch the video below.
