Extra nice 1983 Jeep CJ7 that has lived its entire life out here in Arizon, even has its original paint except for 2 spots (tailgate and engine compartment firewall, one need sprucing up and the other rubbed bare) .
I have run into issues with my health and need to part with my wonderful CJ7.
Looking at the Carfax information provided by Ebay, it shows a mileage/odometer issue many years ago which was the miles exceeding the odometer limit.  Also, this past year emissions failed and I took the old Carter carb off and installed a clean running Motorcraft 2150..

The List:

-258 six cylinder taken out and completely cleaned and painted with hi temp paint

- New oil pump

-New fuel pump

-Aluminum rocker arm cover

-Autometer tachometer (high quality with large lower range)

-AM-FM with cassette and 2 Pioneer speakers

-Motorcraft 2150 carb

-Automatic trans TF999 taken out, cleaned, painted

-Dana 300 transfer case taken out , cleaned, painted

-Twin Stick shifting setup for transfer case

-Dana 30 front axle with all new axle shaft seals, bearings, ball joints, universal joints, front calipers, brakes

-All new exhaust

-All new body mounts to replace the old CJ ones that were getting flat

-20 gallon gas tank, cleaned, painted, new fuel lines, sender, etc..\

-Front and rear custom bumpers

-HD hummer steering gear (same thing as the old CJ one but with a bigger piston)

-New tie rod ends along with a Big Daddy tie rod that has been flipped to the top side of the knuckles for better clearance

-HD steering gear mount (not the flimsy stock CJ one)

-Tilt automatic steering

-Brass Mile Marker lock out hubs

-5 brand new Goodyear Wrangler M/T with Kevlar tires 32x 11.50 on new Mickey Thompson black aluminum rims and new lug nuts

-Original nutmeg front seats in great shape with a black seat cover over them, rear seat is also nutmeg with no seat cover

-Aluminum rack that spans the rear wheel wells giving a top and lower storage function to the back area

-OEM spare tire carrier (not installed at the moment)

-1/2 rubber pad that is cut and fits in the back to prevent damage when putting things in

-Most of the original carpeting, formed to fit rubber mats in the front

-2 front seat tilt forward AND slide forward

-All new Spicer Ujoints on the entire Jeep

-All new extended brakes lines both front and back

EXTRAS:

A 1986 258 block and head with the 1/2 head bolt holes in the block.  Perfect for putting a 4.0 head on that uses the 1/2 bolts.   Block is in great shape as is the head…I planned on having it rebuilt and adding a performance cam, etc. to it….

Extra front drive shaft

2 extra starters

Original CJ7 roll bar

Boxes and boxes of misc. extra parts

She runs straight down the road and is a delight to look at.  Motor runs great, NO leaks at all from the entire drive train.  There is a tap-tap sound, might be wrist pin but it has been that way  for 30,000 miles. Right now it has 156,000 miles on it.  IF you do not want the OrFab roll bar setup and safari top, I do have the original roll bar and will drop the overall price by $550 if you want that original one installed instead and I keep the OrFab one for a friend of mine.

These original, rust free CJ7's are getting harder and harder to find due to accidents, rust, parting out, etc..  Get a great one while you can!

2014 Jeep Cherokee: Introduction

Tue, 27 May 2014

When we look back at some of the more shocking product launches of recent yeras, the Jeep Cherokee is certainly high up on the list. And we aren't just talking about its off-the-wall, polarizing design.
For starters, it brought back the iconic Cherokee nameplate - something Jeep enthusiasts have coveted for ages. But beyond that, it brought a new evolution for the Jeep brand. After all, the Cherokee is car-based - using the same compact platform that underpins the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200. It has a greater focus on technology and refinement than ever before, in an effort to appeal to a new crop of Jeep customers. And powering it all is a new (optional) V6 engine paired with an equally new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Can the Cherokee's car-based roots still allow for a vehicle that's superb when the going gets tough? Will its design still be a love/hate affair in one year's time, or will it start to blend in? Is the powertrain strong enough to not only support the needs of daily driving and road trips, but blaze a few trails as well? We're aiming to answer all these questions, and more, over the next 12 months. Welcome to the Autoblog long-term garage, Cherokee.

2015 Easter Jeep Safari Concepts First Drive

Wed, Apr 8 2015

Imagine if once a year your grandmother made a chocolate cake. Not a chocolate cake, that chocolate cake. Blow-your-mind chocolate cake. But she won't ever let you have any – you can only have the spatula and whatever's left over in the mixing bowl. And you don't care. You look forward to that spatula and bowl every year because – "Gadzooks!" – that is some stupendous cake. For us, that cake is the Easter Jeep Safari. An annual pilgrimage to Moab, Utah for a taste of what Fiat-Chrysler's off-road brand has cooked up in its Design Dome. "No, you can't have any," the company tells us, "but you can taste it here, then dream about it until next Easter." In Detroit, Jeep gave us a close look at the seven concepts it built for this year's 49th annual event. Then it went a step further and took those show cars to Mill Canyon, UT, to crawl the red rocks in Jeep's natural habitat. After all, the company calls Moab, "Our home away from home." And it's not true that we never get more than a taste of Jeep's conceptual goodness – 2011's JK8 pickup conversion kit is a slice of Safari creation we can now take home, for instance, as are the hood decals that adorned two of the concepts we drove this year. Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, told us that the evolution of Jeep Performance Parts came from listening to journalists and customers in his first year on the job in 2010. So there's that. But still, we want more cake. Like a full-on production Wrangler Africa. These being one-of-a-kind prototypes traipsing through a canyon of nearly immovable objects, we didn't go fast, we didn't go far, we didn't push hard. But we did drive all the Easter Jeeps, and even just this small taste was outstanding. View 30 Photos Jeep Chief While we listened attentively to the detailed spiels on all this conceptual candy, one question ran through our minds: "How am I going to get in the Chief before everyone else?" And we could see the same thought every colleague's face, those scheming bastards. And why not? The Ocean Blue tribute to the venerable Cherokee of old grabbed everyone's attention since the first teaser images weeks before the event, in part because the vintage truck is up there with mermaids for rarity and lustworthiness. Anything that goes this far in obeisance to that classic Jeep is always going to score huge marks. The Chief is a four-door Wrangler underneath, but in many ways it feels nothing like a Wrangler.

Work at a Chrysler dealership, get free college education

Mon, May 4 2015

The cost of a college education in the US can put a student tens (hundreds, in some cases) of thousands of dollars into debt. FCA US wants to give its dealership employees a leg up, though, and the automaker is now offering a completely free education to them through a partnership with Strayer University. The workers can take any of the college's classes online or on campus through program called Degrees@Work. Currently, the offer is only available to employees Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat dealers in the automaker's Southeast region, which includes Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. However, a national expansion will happen before the end of the year, Strayer spokesperson Cristina Henley tells Autoblog. The program will cover all of the students' expenses, including their books, according to Henley. FCA US sees this partnership as a way to improve the talent of its workforce, retain employees longer and possibly attract people wanting to take advantage of this free education. "Many of our dealers have expressed concern over the availability of talent to fill open positions due to business growth and turnover in their stores, especially in metro markets," Al Gardner, the company's Head of Dealer Network Development, said in the Degrees@Work announcement. Strayer has about 40 programs available, including in business administration, accounting, marketing, and more, and the university offers associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. It will also give FCA US employees credit for their work experience to get them a diploma even more quickly. FCA US Dealers to Offer Employees No-Cost, No-Debt College Education FCA US teams with Strayer University to develop first-of-its-kind dealer program Degrees@Work program open to all employees of participating dealerships Employees can earn no-cost, no-debt degree through Strayer University All Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT dealerships may participate First phase of program rollout begins with dealers in the FCA US Southeast Business Center National rollout expected later this year May 4, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Employees of Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT dealerships will have the unique opportunity to earn a no-cost, no-debt college degree through Strayer University's Degrees@Work program, developed in collaboration with FCA US LLC. FCA US is the only company in the automotive industry to offer the program.
