I said I would never do it, but for personal reasons. I am going to offer my very nicely restored CJ-5. You've seen all the carved up ones with rhino liner, deck plating and other cover ups to hide rust and other problems, but you won't see any of that here. This is one awesome CJ-5. Here's the scoop. I had this shipped to me in MN from OH originating in CA several years ago. It was in exceptional condition. No rust, no issues other than a few little dents. I paid a lot for it, but you cant hardly find a nice original CJ like this was. With that said, I went forward and disassembled her inside and out. We did not do a frame off because the underneath of her was just that nice. Still, I wanted to restore it to original. I have pics for the new owner of the interior, including dash, removed, cleaned, hand sanded and repainted. Yes, the complete inner original metal tub has been hand sanded, sealed, primed and painted with the original color and cleared on top of it inside and out. After the interior was done, the outer body got the same treatment. Very little body work with no rust removal or issues. The body was great already. It was prepped, primed, sealed, painted with 3 coats of original white and clear coated. Needless to say, it is a beautiful shiny paint job. The frame and suspension have been touch up painted and rust proofed for long lasting protection. However, this is not a trailer queen, but it has been in the World Of Wheels car show 3 times and has won several trophies. (See the picture) I will send a trophy plaque to the winning bidder. It has the original suspension with no lift kit. Still, the like new 33.12.50 15" tires and 10" wide wheels fit perfect and do not rub. This Jeep does not wander down the road. It has not been off roaded so there isnt mud under it either. The steering is tight, and it is such a pleasure to drive. The 258 6 Cyl engine was replaced with a new reman long block factory 258 6 cly engine, and the engine compartment was cleaned nicely when the engine was out, but it is very stock, not over done. The last owner had it done before I got it. I have those receipts along with ones for a new clutch and other stuff too. The engine starts easily and runs perfect. Here's a bonus! It has a beautiful Warn winch on the front with lanyard and brand new cable on it and it works great. It also has new carpet, just put in a new heater core, (what a job), new windshield and gasket, new front stock bumper, brand new great fitting Best Top, front stabilizer shock, many new dash parts, roll bar padding, dash board, center console, folding rear seat, cb radio, tow hitch, 4 speed trans, new shift knobs, brakes are good, manual hubs rebuilt, good heater, owners manual, ahooga horn with button in the dash, newer wipers and arms, and a new radio. But it needs a new antenna. The one on it is nice but reception is bad. The seats including the rear seat are the original seats and in excellent condition with only a few imperfections. I'm very proud of that, you rarely see that either. It has a larger aftermarket gas tank in the same original place. The gas gauge worked just fine but now it doesn't. I don't know why. It's not the gauge. I think it's the wire to the tank. I have the tank schematic for it, Just haven't looked at it. I guess I could go on and on, but I will let you look at the pics and ask Q's if you need to. All I can say is this looks like a brand new original CJ. No disappointments here! A beautiful CJ-5 in original condition, that runs like a dream. Thanks for looking and good luck. Any shipping will be arranged by the winning bidder. But I will help where I can. Im Minnesota, after so many years, the title only says no mileage required. I cannot verify the mileage, due to the previous owner not having much for records. The speedometer was changed out and reads 79,000. I got the old one with it that reads 207254. The previous owner towed the Jeep behind his motorhome. Yes, it’s a little smelly on Woodward Ave. this time of year. Just like always, the Dream Cruise invites all comers to cruise their machines on Woodward from Ferndale, MI to Pontiac, MI. Everybody is invited, but the original intent of the Dream Cruise was to highlight classic American muscle cars. YouÂ’ll see plenty of those in our mega gallery above, but weÂ’ve sprinkled it with a bunch of other vehicle types, such as modern muscle and other intriguing American vehicles. Chrysler extending production of current Dodge Avenger, Jeep Wrangler, Grand Caravan
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Are you hesitant to pull the trigger on a brand new Dodge Avenger in hopes that a new one will be coming? Well, don't hold your breath. According to The Detroit News, Chrysler will be extending production of the current Avenger sedan through the end of 2015.
Originally, we heard that the company would kill the Avenger to better focus its midsize sedan efforts on the Chrysler 200 replacement. But then new reports stated there would indeed be an Avenger successor, and that we could see it as early as next January. This Detroit News report cites supplier sources confirming the extension of Avenger production, though Chrysler has not released an official statement on the matter.
These same suppliers say that the current Jeep Wrangler will live on through mid-2018 - that's right, another five years. The Detroit News reports that a replacement for the iconic, go-anywhere Jeep was due in mid-2016.
Project Trail Force Jeep Wrangler goes to SEMA, then to a lucky winner
Wed, Jul 1 2015Extreme Terrain is an aftermarket parts company focused on the Jeep Wrangler. Partly just because it's a really cool thing to do, and probably having something to do with Jeep's upcoming 75th anniversary, Extreme Terrain found some dance partners to help work up a special 2015 Wrangler Rubicon that it will show off at the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival in Butler, PA, then at SEMA in November, where it will be given away. Extreme worked with Barricade Off-Road and Kevin Tetz from the Spike show Trucks! to build the Wrangler it calls Project Trail Force. There is more than $24,000 worth of aftermarket gear on it, starting with the Ripp centrifugal supercharger that pumps an additional 140 horsepower into the 3.6-liter V6. It's got a 3.5-inch lift kit from Rock Krawler, Dana 44 axles strung between 37-inch BFG tires, Barricade bumpers, a 9,500-pound winch, fender flares, rock sliders, a 50-inch LED light bar above the windshield, LED spotlights on the A-pillars, and seven-inch KC Hilites headlights. Rugged Ridge worked over the inside with upgrades like all-terrain floor and cargo liners, plus seat covers, and a new navigation system with a back-up camera. If you want to win it, you can enter the contest at Extreme Terrain once every week until Oct. 23. The winner gets flown to SEMA to have Kevin Tetz hand the keys over. If you just want to see it, you can head to PA for that heritage festival. The Project Trail Force will also lead a Jeep parade that could set a Guinness World Record.
