Irvington, Alabama, United States
1982 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler, this truck underwent a complete frame off restoration just under 5 years ago, and has since been sitting on a private show room amongst some of the rarest collector cars in the world. The only time it was ever out is when it was driven to shows, where it always took first place in its class and driven back. The truck was completely taken down and brought back up, with everything on the truck either being bought new and installed or having been redone. The quality of the restoration sure shows when you look at the truck, the truck has taken several first places trophy's and best of shows these past few years. The truck is only showing 3500 miles since being completed. During the restoration the underside, bed area, and inside of the truck was all rhino lined to the silver to match the interior. The Top and roll bar has been painted white to offset the beautiful custom paint job. All of the chrome was replaced with new on the outside. Like I said no expense spared on the build of the truck. The interior of the truck features custom seats with center console. The door panels are as well custom with brushed aluminum inserts and solid aluminum poll handles. The dash is done in brushed aluminum, with all new Stewart warner gauges. The truck features a tilt steering column. The truck is a standard 5 speed, and their is a custom brushed aluminum pieces that surrounds the shifter and 4x4 shifter on the floor to add for a nice touch. Under the hood, the engine bay is painted just as the truck to add for a nice touch. The power for the truck comes from a aluminum head LT1 fuel injected motor. The motor was completely redone, and the miles that are showing on the truck is just what the motor has on it. The truck has headman headers that are ceramic coated, and dual flow master exhaust system with chrome tips. The truck also features power Disk brakes, with assisted steering setup. The truck rides on Mickey Thompson Chrome wheels with 32x11.50x15 All Terrain tires. The truck rides and drives amazing, and gets great gas mileage going down the road. The truck is 4x4, it still retains all of its original axles and all, all of which have been completely gone through and redone. Everything on the truck works. Chrysler accelerates Jeep recall repairs from 2018 to March
Thu, 17 Jul 2014
You may remember that Jeep's unusual fix for this recall involves fitting a trailer hitch.
The recall of about 1.5 million models of the 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty and 1993-1998 Grand Cherokee over fuel tanks may finish far sooner than originally estimated. In a new filing from Jeep's parent, Chrysler Group, with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the company says that it can complete the repairs for the affected vehicles by March 2015, much sooner than the previous estimate of sometime in 2018. Jeep predicts the total cost of the campaign will be around $151 million.
LA-bound 2014 Jeep Wrangler special edition gives us the Willys for $25,795
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The Jeep Wrangler might be the reigning king of special editions, but with sales records being broken almost all year, this plan is obviously resonating with buyers. Joining new models like the Dragon Edition and Polar Edition, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler is adding a new Willys Wheeler Edition to pay homage to Jeep's military heritage.
Getting ready for its big debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition is inspired by early Willys CJ (Civilian Jeep) models with exclusive styling and upgraded off-road goodies. Starting with a Wrangler Sport, these upgrades include a Dana 44 rear axle with limited-slip differential and 3.73 gears, along with meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires mounted to the Willys Wheeler's black 17-inch wheels. For more of a classic Jeep look, this model adds a gloss black grille, "Willys" hood stickers and rock rails to protect the side sills. Jeep is also tossing in a D-ring, tow strap and gloves that are all kept in a special carrying bag.
When it goes on sale early next year, the Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition will start at $25,795 for the two-door model, while the four-door will start at $29,595. There's an official press release posted below, and we'll be sure to have live images of the special-edition Wrangler live from the LA Auto Show floor later this week, so stay close.
Chrysler banks $507 million in Q2, trims 2013 earnings forecast
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Chrysler has some good news and some bad news. First, profits were up 16 percent over the second quarter of 2012, bringing the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based manufacturer $507 million on the back of strong demand for trucks and SUVs (a recurring theme this quarter, particularly in the US). Q2 revenue was up as well, from $16.8 billion in 2012 to $18 billion in 2013. The bad news is that the Pentastar's overall earnings forecast for net income in 2013 has been trimmed from $2.2 billion to between $1.7 and $2.2 billion, according to Automotive News.
In addition to the adjusted net income forecast, Chrysler tweaked its operating profit from $3.8 billion to between $3.3 and $3.8 billion. This has gone largely unexplained by Chrysler, perhaps hoping the news of a three-percent increase in its transaction prices for Q2 will allow it to sweep this adjustment under the rug.
The star of the show for Chrysler has been its US sales, which saw a 10-percent jump, both bettering the industry average of eight percent and improving over the same stretch of 2012. As with the increase in transaction prices, Chrysler has the new Ram pickup and Jeep Grand Cherokee to thank. Perhaps most worrying from this report, though, is that every brand in the automaker's stable saw an increase in sales... except for the Chrysler brand itself.
