1982 Jeep Cj7 Cj 7 - 6 Cyl 258 T4 Manual Wide Track - Solid Fixer Upper on 2040-cars

Year:1982 Mileage:136000
Location:

Oka, Quebec, Canada

Oka, Quebec, Canada

Hi, I am reluctantly selling my Jeep since I don't have any more time to enjoy it, and I have a lot more projects on the waiting list. I ought it 2 years ago with a broken differential and have fixed a lot of things on it to make it running again. I have used it to get around in the forest for the past year and it ran well.

It's a 1982, with an inline 6 cylinder engine, 258 and a T4 manual transmission. It has a hard-top from a 97 YJ, it has the side bars for the roll cage, it has a soft roof also. Mileage is 136K miles but I don't know if it's actual. There are a lot of pros and cons on this car so here goes:

Pros:
- This vehicle has been previously restored but I don't know when and by who. Everything is color painted, frame is purple, engine is orange, transfer case is yellow, etc.
- Very solid frame, has been re-plated on the right side, otherwise is rust free and rustproofed.
- New spark plugs, distributor, PCV valve, fuel filter, etc.
- New carburetor, Weber DGES 38 bought last year to replace the carter one
- Front calipers and pads are new
- Rear differential was replaced, with a used but working drive shaft. It's a locked differential with one piece axles to put on larger tires, new differential oil, etc.
- No holes in the body or frame
- Doors come off

Cons:
- Original paint is blue, re-painted by hand with matte Tremclad anti-rust paint.
- Engine burns oil, when the car is hot it has more smoke from the tailpipe than a 19th Century locomotive. Piston rings are probably finished. Engine must be rebuilt
- Transfer case shifts very hard from 4X4 to 2X4 or low to high. I don't know what the problem is.
- Seats are rusted though, well the springs are, and the fabric is torn. They must be replaced.
- Wiring must be re-done on the whole car. It starts and runs with the key, speedo works, oil pressure works, but the gas and temp do not. Headlights do not work. Complete wiring must be redone in it.

It starts and runs but needs a lot of work. I do not deem it secure to drive it as it is on the road (maybe in the forest but still)

Please refer to the pictures for any additional information, it comes exactly as pictured.

It is located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada but I am willing to ship it worldwide at the buyer's expense.

*** SHIPPING IT TO EUROPE IS AROUND 1000$ - 1500$ ***

Overseas buyers: Please message me for quote, it's easier for me to get it shipped to Helsinki, Rotterdam of somewhere along those lines.
USA bidders: I could deliver the car to Champlain NY 12919 for free but the paperwork is on you, I have never exported a car to the US so I'm not aware of the laws, but could assist you in any case.

If you have questions please ask before bidding.

Jeep Renegade signed by the Rolling Stones brings in $46k for charity

Thu, Jan 1 2015

What do Jeep and the Rolling Stones have in common? Well, they've both have been around for longer than most of us, they seem just about indestructible, and not long after one shipped out from America to help save Britain, the other lead the British Invasion of America. But the two enduring icons also came together this past summer as one sponsored the other's European tour. And while they were in Rome, Jeep had the members of the legendary rock group sign a new Renegade that just went up for auction. Bearing the signatures of the immortal Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts, this star-studded, pint-sized off-roader – the first Jeep to be built in Italy – sold for an impressive $46,000 to an anonymous bidder. That's about two-and-a-half times what the new pebble-crawler is expected to sell for when it reaches showrooms. Proceeds from the sale, handled by Charitybuzz.com, will benefit Community Links, a social-inclusion organization based in London. View 56 Photos

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee gets surprisingly comprehensive update, new diesel power

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

Traditionally, automotive journalists can be heard muttering something to the effect of "Geeze, it's about time!" whenever a vehicle's midcycle refresh is revealed. As we routinely see and drive new models many months before the public even claps eyes on them in showrooms - and then go on to tweeze apart their minutia in our daily writings - perhaps some impatience is to be expected. With so much exposure to a given vehicle, it's fair to say we tire of most cars and trucks far more quickly than the average consumer.
The alterations are handsome, if not subtle touches from the "If It Ain't Broke" school of design.
Which is why we're pleased to say "Oh, is it time for that already?" when it comes to the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The current WK2 Grand Cherokee hit the market in 2011 and climbed its way into our hearts with its rugged good looks, go-anywhere capability and surprising refinement. We're not yet tired of its appearance or performance, but even so, we're very glad to see Chrysler giving its flagship Jeep some attention, including a much-anticipated diesel powertrain option and some other economy-minded measures.

Jeep brings quartet of concepts to Beijing to show its Chinese style

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Jeep is making a big play for the Chinese crossover market at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. It has a quartet styling concepts for the Renegade, Cherokee and Wrangler that are inspired by Chinese culture at the show.
Among them is the newest member of the Jeep lineup - the Renegade. Its Zi You Xia concept (pictured above) comes from the Mandarin for "rebel," and it's painted in Warm Chocolate Gray with Dark Anodized Bronze trim, including the 20-inch wheels. The roof, grille surround, and mirror caps are done in a complimentary Dark Charcoal color as an accent. The interior is a mix of dark brown leather and Anodized Copper trim. This is one swanky compact crossover.
The Cherokee Sageland and Urbane concepts are meant to show to different sides of Chinese style. With inspiration from the Shangri-La Region, the Sageland has Ivory Pearl tri-coat paint with bronze trim on the outside, and the interior is covered in Gray Nappa leather with red and blue stitching. The Urbane's look comes from the nightlife in the country's cities. The exterior is a color called Maximum Steel with Hyper Black trim. Inside, it combines Piano Black trim with dark red leather seats.
