Time for me to share my awesome 1980 CJ7. I believe I'm second owner since I've owned it for approx. 13 years and have never taken it off road. The original owner used it on his farm in GA to clear brush. This Jeep is TIGHT and you can take your hand off the wheel at 80MH and it's straight as an arrow. The motor is original and stock other than the headers (headman in frame with Cherry Bombs). There is a small spot of rust just under the license plate that has been treated but not repaired. All the floor plans are perfect. There is a small dent in the right front fender thanks for a deer that ran out in front of me. I've been around a lot of Jeeps and I've never rode in one that handled and ran as good as this one. It has a 3 inch body lift, black Rock Crawler wheels and ProComp 31" X 12.50". The tires are in great shape, the body is in great shape, original seats are good but I put seat covers them anyway. Has rear seat with matching seat cover. The paint is starting to fade a little but it still looks good and turns a lot of heads. The windshield wipes need work. Hard top is perfect and had a light. Tailgate is perfect including lift gate, etc. Over all, this Jeep is awesome, starts every time and runs great! Good luck bidding and please send any questions that you have to schrimsher.mike @ g m a i l . c o m. Thanks for the consideration!

Jeep Liberty replacement takes shape

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Now that the Liberty has left us for greener pastures, it's time to start looking into the future of the midsize Jeep model. The next all-new vehicle for the off-road brand will be the SUV you see here, effectively replacing the Liberty, and not necessarily carrying on with that name.
From the sides, the prototype you see here sort of looks like a miniature version of the handsome Grand Cherokee, albeit with a bit more in the way of body sculpting. Up front, the seven-slat grille will be front and center, with completely revised headlamp designs that are reportedly angular and sweep well into the front fenders (you can sort of see what we're talking about in the side profile). That doesn't sound very Jeep-like, but we'll reserve judgment until we, you know, see the thing.
The bigger question with the Liberty replacement will be whether or not its off-road chops will be up to snuff. After all, the two previous generations of Liberty models were body-on-frame traditional SUVs, whereas this new Jeep rides on a larger version of the Dodge Dart platform.

Going high-tech, the 4x4 way

Is It An Off-Road Adventure Or Just A Walk In The Park?
I remember having to get out and lock hubs and shift into neutral to engage low range.
Coming off press previews of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that involved some heavy-duty off-road rock climbing, I'm simply amazed at the capabilities that these vehicles possess. But even more impressive (or troubling depending on your perspective) is the relative ease with which you can operate these vehicles in seemingly impossible terrain.

An inside look at Mopar's SEMA fleet

Fri, 31 Oct 2014

Mopar is heading to the SEMA show in Las Vegas with a fleet of customized vehicles that appeal to enthusiasts of all stripes. There's a Dodge Viper ACR concept that follows in the lineage of the supercar's great road racing past, and a custom Ram ProMaster that might just be the ultimate outdoor party machine.
We got an inside look at Mopar's cars that will be on display at the show, which also include a Dodge Challenger T/A concept, two crazy Jeeps and a Ram 2500 Outdoorsman that could change the way you camp. While these are some of our favorites, Mopar is bringing plenty to SEMA, so let us know your top choices in the comments section.
