For sale is this full rotisserie restored 1979 CJ-5 Jeep , restored less than a year ago it has barely been driven since completed only 328 miles , it drives like a brand new Jeep because it is brand new.
I bought this Jeep off a family friend who owned it for over 20 years and it ran very good when i got it but it needed some tlc.
The body and chassis were completely disassembled sandblasted then repainted. The frame has all new Energy Suspension body mounts and spring bushings , the front and rear ends have new seals ,bearings, gaskets . The body was fixed of all the rust and then it was LineX'd top and bottom so it will endure for along time.
A new gas tank and fuel lines were installed , as-well as new brake master cylinder, brake lines throughout the Jeep , front brake calipers and rotors , rear brake cylinders and brake shoes.
The engine is a AMC 360 with a 2 barrel carb , it  was running very good when i got the Jeep so it was not completely disassembled  simply took it partially apart to check for wear and tear nothing was observed visually or in the fluids so it was cleaned up aesthetically and fluids changed after , new HEI distributor installed . The engine is cold nature'd because it doesn't have a choke so you have to control the throttle for first min or so till it gets some heat but afterwords it runs and ideals perfectly. I have a spare carb that does have all the electronic choke still on it but it has not been rebuild yet , but should work perfectly as it is already wired up for an electric choke carb in the engine loom. About 100 miles ago i noticed some oil on the underside of the engine it is either out of the rear main seal or the back of the oil pan gasket but only after it has been driving for awhile will there be any oil.
New wiring throughout the Jeep with new gauges , lights , anything electrical is new.  New Aluminum radiator and electric fan. New rugged ridge seats and racing 4 point harness installed so your nice and safe inside and don't have to worry about ever falling out.
The exhaust is a custom 3"  2 into 1 exhaust  which gives it a nice throaty rumble but not overly loud.
The bumpers are custom build , the front incorporates a new 8000lb Warn winch , and the back has a Reese hitch register and trailer brake plug so you can tow anything and the lights and brakes will work.
The Cage is custom build utilizing the stock roll hoop but making it significantly more  safe.

Extra's that come with the Jeep , the other stock carb with electronic choke , about a 1/2 gallon of touch up paint for the wear and tear it should receive... or if you ever want to paint it again. All the parts receipts from the restoration are included as well as a dvd will all the photos about 100 total.

This Jeep is sold on a Georgia Bill of Sale it is sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied  , a $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hr and full amount due with 7 days .
The buyer is responsible for arranging shipping

If there are any questions feel free to email me i look forward to answering any questions or concerns.
I have many more photos if your interested simply email me for more.

Thank you for looking at this wonderful Jeep,

Maserati Levante crossover not Jeep based after all?

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

Maserati has been teasing its crossover project since 2011, which is when it first showed off the Kubang concept (pictured above). Still, the production version, rumored to be called the Levante, remains a complete mystery. The CUV was first rumored to borrow the platform from the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but new rumors indicate that the Italian, luxury crossover might actually take the underpinnings from the Quattroporte and Ghibli.
In a brief interview, Maserati CEO Harald Wester told CNN Money that the Levante wouldn't use Jeep's platform. Motor Trend spoke with an unnamed Maserati engineer who confirmed the rumor. Officially, the company says that no decision has been made.
We can add this to another long list of rumors about the Italian CUV. It was originally supposed to be built at Chrysler's Jefferson North assembly plant in Detroit. Then, plans were changed to build it in Italy.

Ford extends shutdown, Stellantis confirms layoffs due to chip shortage

Thu, Apr 22 2021

Ford and Stellantis this week announced new production cuts due to the global semiconductor shortage, with popular models including the Ford F-150 and Jeep Grand Cherokee facing cuts. Stellantis plans to temporarily lay off workers at one facility as production is curtailed.  According to Automotive News, Ford is extending shutdowns at some of its North American facilities into May. The Blue Oval has been forced to reduce or idle production of both its redesigned F-150 pickup and the popular Explorer due to the chip shortage. The Mustang, Transit, Edge, Lincoln Nautilus and Aviator will also continue to be affected. Stellantis is planning to temporarily lay off workers at a Jeep plant in Detroit during April and May due to a shortage of semiconductor chips. The company will cut two work crews at its Jefferson North plant in Detroit for three weeks starting April 26, then call them back and lay off a third crew from May 17 through the week of May 31, according to a schedule obtained by Bloomberg News. The plant on Detroit’s east side normally operates two shifts with three work crews six days a week to keep it running 20 hours a day. “Stellantis continues to work closely with our suppliers to mitigate the manufacturing impacts caused by the various supply chain issues facing our industry,” company spokeswoman Jodi Tinson said in a statement. “Due to the unprecedented global microchip shortage, Jefferson North will adjust its production schedule through the end of May.” Jefferson North employs about 4,800 hourly workers and makes the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the top-selling Jeep model last year, and the Dodge Durango SUV. A redesigned version of the Grand Cherokee is scheduled to start production in August, according to researcher AutoForecast Solutions. This article contains reporting from Bloomberg. 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Quick Spin

Thu, Sep 1 2016

Jeep won't come out and say it, but the 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk exists to bloody the nose of the Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro. America's off-road brand hasn't built a wheeling-specific version of its Grand Cherokee flagship in years, and the last GC Trailhawk was mostly stickers and tires. It was time for a true trail-spec Grand Cherokee again. We took a quick spin (two of them, actually) in the latest Trailhawk model, which joins Renegades and Cherokees with the same badge and off-road bent for 2017. Our time was limited, and so were our initial findings. After driving on and off pavement at Fiat Chrysler's proving grounds in Chelsea, Michigan, we can tell you that on the road, this Grand Cherokee has the same refined driving dynamics as any other. As for off-roading, the capability is still somewhat of an open question. Driving Notes The suspension and off-road system tuning are what really set the Trailhawk apart from other Grand Cherokees. Jeep tweaked the four-corner Quadra-Lift air suspension to improve articulation and suspension travel, while retaining the 10.8 inches of ground clearance of lesser Quadra-Lift Grand Cherokees. Paired with the standard Quadra-Drive II four-wheel-drive system, rear electronic limited-slip diff, and 20-inch Goodyear Adventure off-road tires, the Trailhawk is not short on capability (at least on paper). Unfortunately, paper is almost where this stops. The Trailhawks we drove were pre-production models with unfinished software calibrations. The throttle on the 3.6-liter V6 Trailhawk we took on the off-road course was super touchy and hard to modulate, regardless of which Selec-Terrain off-road mode was selected. Without a reliable throttle, we were bounding over obstacles instead of negotiating them patiently. This was back in June, and Jeep's PR reps assured us at the time that the engineers knew about the oversensitive throttle and have since confirmed that the issue has been fixed for production models, which are rolling off the line in Detroit now. We're planning to get into one of those vehicles as soon as one becomes available for a full review. Like the standard model, the Trailhawk's air suspension offers more comfort than the double-wishbone front and four-link rear suspension on the 4Runner.
