LOW RESERVE.  RARE COLOR CJ.  MUST SELL!!!!!!!

Up for auction is my 1977 Jeep CJ7 base model, 258 6 Cyl, 4x4, 4 Speed Manual Transmission with low range.  I have owned the jeep a year or so and unfortunately need to seel it.  As far as I know it has 63K Original Miles. Original paint color and a numbers matching jeep. The paint on the Jeep looks great from a distance but once up close you can tell that it is 36 years old.  The jeep only has 1 spot of rust and that is very small on the drivers front fender(See Picture). No where else on the jeep has ANY RUST. Floor boards are original and in perfect shape. The under side of the jeep has no patches.  LOOK AT THE PICTURES.  Small dent on one of the front fenders. This jeep has not had any bondo work as far as I know.  It has two small places on the passenger side where the paint has peeled and now has black paint covering the spot.   What you see is what you get. Want a great jeep for a restore or a great daily driver than this is it. I drive it everyday. Engine is great shape, no smoke, leaks ect. Great daily driver, factory no carpet utility jeep. The gas gauge does not work and was never worth dropping the tank over.  Temp gauge is bad, sensor is new but did not want to replace the cluster as it is the original miles on the jeep.  Brake light is dysfunctional for what ever reason.  Jeep has a tool box and two pioneer speakers under the back seat.

Original hardtop and hard doors.  Do not have a soft top to go with it.  Top has never been painted and has the original texture to it.  All glass is in good shape for age.

List of new parts: New 4x4 locking Warn Hubs, New Brakes, Rotors, Hubs, Pads, Calipers, New Tires, New ignition system including ECI, plugs, wires, coil, distributor, cap ect., New Ford 2100 Carburetor, New CD Player. That is all that I can think of but I have probably left out a bunch.

YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER JEEP IN THIS SHAPE FOR THIS PRICE. Look at what is for sale.  The Jeep has just been listed for sale locally as I MUST SELL IT.  SO, I reserve the right to end the auction early.  I do not offer any type of warranty in any shape form or fashion.  It is a 36 year old jeep and will have the usual things wrong.  However, this is a great daily driver or a perfect base to drop on some new paint.  I have described the jeep to the best of my ability and tried to be very detailed because I want you to know what your getting.  BUT Please feel free to ask me questions.

I require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of the close of the auction.  Full payment will be required within 7 days of the close of auction and in cash only or thru bank transfer.  No checks, cashiers checks, ect.  You will be responsible for picking up the Jeep in person within 7 days of the close of the auction.  I will work with any shipping company you prefer but you will pay the entire cost of shipping. Please read and look over everything prior to bidding.  Ask questions please.  I have more photos available and a video of the jeep starting and running perfect.  You bid you bought it.

Jeep Chief and Wrangler Red Rock Responder teased ahead of Easter Jeep Safari

Thu, Mar 12 2015

Jeep is being coy about it's lineup for the 2015 Moab Easter Jeep Safari, releasing just a pair of shots and an exceptionally brief press release on two of the seven concepts coming to the desert later this month. So, what can we glean from the limited assets that have been given to us? Well, as we said, we know Jeep is bringing seven vehicles to its big festival. We also know the names of two vehicles, shown above – there's the Chief and the Wrangler Red Rock Responder. Which is which? A fair question. We're betting the second image is the Wrangler-based Red Rock Responder. As for the Chief, well, we've absolutely no idea what to expect there. Jeep's Moab concepts generally include the model name on which their based – see the Grand Cherokee Trail Warrior and Cherokee Dakar from last year, or even the Wrangler Red Rock Responder, mentioned above. There's no such moniker on the Chief. As for the Chief's illustrated teaser image, as we said, it doesn't reveal much. The body is angular, and quite Jeep like, with squared-off wheel arches and decidedly old-school taillights. Beyond that, though, we don't have much to go on. Expect much more not just on the Chief and Red Rock Responder, but on all seven of the concepts Jeep is bringing to Moab. The party starts on March 28 and runs until April 5. Be sure to check back then for full coverage. Related Video:

Jeep in St. Louis hacked from Pittsburgh

Tue, Jul 21 2015

One of America's most popular vehicles contains a security flaw that allows hackers to remotely commandeer it from anywhere on the planet. Cyber-security researchers Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller say they've accessed critical vehicle controls on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee that allowed them to remotely control critical vehicle functions like braking, transmission function, and steering. Automakers have downplayed the possibility a car could be remotely compromised, but the significance of the findings detailed Tuesday could cause them to reevaluate the threats posed to hundreds of thousands of vehicles already on the road. A key finding – the pair needed no physical access to the Jeep to pull off the attack. Valasek and Miller accessed the controls via a security hole in the Sprint cellular connection to Chrysler's UConnect infotainment system. In the course of their research, Valasek sat in his Pittsburgh home and remotely manipulated Miller's Jeep as he drove along a highway outside St. Louis. If you know a car's IP address, they say, a hacker could control it from anywhere. "We didn't add anything, didn't touch it," Valasek told Autoblog. "A customer could drive one of these things off a lot, and they'd have no clue it had these open attack surfaces." Remotely, he disabled brakes, turned the radio volume up, engaged windshield wipers and tampered with the transmission. Further, they could conduct surveillance on the Jeep, measuring its speed and tracking its whereabouts. They conducted the experiments over multiple breaches. They made their findings public on the same day the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the federal agency in charge of vehicle safety, released its latest report on the readiness of government and automakers to fend off these sorts of cyber attacks. Later today, two US Senators are expected to introduce legislation that would help consumers better understand the potential risks of car hacking. In the early stages of their research, Valasek and Miller found a security flaw in the car's wi-fi that allowed them to remotely manipulate controls from a range of about three feet. But in recent months, they found another vulnerability in the Sprint cellular connection in the UConnect system. That was a key breakthrough. "Lo and behold, we found we could communicate with this thing using cellular, and then more research, and 'Holy cow,' we're using the Sprint network to communicate with these vehicles," Valasek said.
