Up for sale is my 1977 Jeep CJ7 Renegade with a 304 V8 and a 4 speed transmission.

I spent the last five years restoring this vehicle from the ground up, taking it to the bare frame and bringing it back to its current beauty. The only parts I keep when I tore it down was the frame, the front and rear differentials, the transmission, and the transfer case, everything else is NEW! It has a Dana 30 front axle, a AMC 20 rear axle, a Borg Warner T-18A transmission with granny low, and a DANA 20 transfer case. It has a new body from Willy's Overland with the JEEP stamped into the sides and the tailgate, new stainless dash, new Best Top top with tinted rear windows, new fold and tumble rear seat with headrests, new front seats, new Tuffy console, well new everything! As I stated I have invested five years and a very large amount of money into this project so if it sells it will not sell cheap. I also upgraded the roll bar to the "Family Bar" which came from a 92-95 Wrangler and allows the rear passengers to have shoulder belts instead of the factory rear lap belts. It has true dual exhaust with dual catalytic convertors so if you have emissions testing in your area it will pass no problem.

The Process:

I started by taking this Jeep apart done to the absolute bare frame, I then sandblasted and painted the frame with four coats of Por-15 Chassis Black, I replaced all shocks, brake lines, brake parts, suspension and body bushings, fuel lines, fuel tank and internal parts, I installed all new steering parts to include a new steering box and shaft. I had the front and rear differentials rebuilt professionally, the transmission rebuilt professionally, and had a new ATK Power Torque engine installed by the local Jeep dealer. New radiator, hoses, belts, all ignition parts were as well replaced, the only original part left in the engine compartment is the wiring harness. Before installing the new body I sealed the cowl panel and used two coats of Herculiner (bed liner) and two coats of Por-15 Chassis Black on all body parts not painted red, this includes the entire underside of the body, the inner fender wells, the firewall, and the interior floorboards. I then installed the new body from Willy's Overland, with new fenders, tailgate, windshield frame, and hood, it was professionally painted by a local body shop. New custom made bumpers were powder coated and installed. A totally new interior was installed using Best Top Seats, front are reclining bucket seats with new brackets, the rear is a fold and tumble Best Top seat as well. All new seatbelts were installed, new carpet, and a Tuffy High Security Console were installed. For sound I went with a Kenwood HD Cd player, two Alpine dash speakers, and two Alpine 6 x9 speakers in Roll Bar boxes behind the rear seat, the cd player has a remote which is great to keep control of the tunes while driving a manual transmission. It has a new Best Top soft top with all new hardware and tinted rear windows. No expense was spared during the build of this vehicle, I am selling because I want to, not because I have to, the Jeep currently has a great life resting comfortably in my garage, since the build it has not been driven in anything but sunny weather.

The bad: the speedometer does not work accurately, cable is new, the head spins free, not sure what it is,

That is all I can think of, this vehicle is for sale AS IS, Where Is, I will provide a clean title, and a receipt book with all the receipts from the build, it is a 3 inch binder that is overflowing.

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

Texas student drives Barbie Jeep to school after DWI

Fri, Sep 4 2015

A Texas college student who lost her license when she was charged with a DWI this spring found a creative way of getting around campus. Tara Monroe, 20, is a student at the University of Texas at Austin. She had her driver's license automatically suspended when she refused a breathalyzer test after leaving a Waka Flocka concert on March 4. He dad took her car away and left her with a bike. But that just wasn't classy enough for Monroe. "Riding a bike around campus sucks," she told MySA.com. "Like really sucks." She searched Craigslist to find an alternative and settled on a bright pink Fisher-Price Barbie Jeep Power Wheel toy to help lug her stuff around campus. She named it after the original owner, a little girl named Charlene. The unorthodox ride has turned Monroe into a minor celebrity. Pictures of her slowly making her way around campus in the toy car have been popping up on social media. "This is the best way I could have gotten my 15 minutes of fame," she said. "Basically, it was the best decision I've made in college, yet..." The Barbie Jeep has a 12-volt battery and only goes about five miles per hour. Monroe says she loves the attention she is getting from her immature hijinks. If you enjoy the sight of adults crammed into Power Wheels check out our attempt to cruise around the Autoblog office in a tike-sized Ford F-150. Mixed sales results, but automaker stocks rise on need for cars in Houston

Fri, Sep 1 2017

DETROIT — The Big Three Detroit automakers on Friday reported better-than-expected August sales and issued optimistic outlooks for demand as residents of the Houston area replace flood-damaged cars and trucks after Hurricane Harvey, sending their stocks higher. General Motors, Ford and Fiat Chrysler posted mixed August U.S. sales, with GM up 7.5 percent and Ford and Fiat Chrysler down. Japanese automaker Toyota improved sales by nearly 7 percent, while Honda fell 2.4 percent. Still, analysts focused on the potential for Detroit automakers to cut inventories and stabilize used vehicle prices as residents of Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States, are forced to replace tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands, of vehicles after the devastation from Hurricane Harvey. Mark LaNeve, Ford's U.S. sales chief, told analysts on Friday that following Hurricane Katrina in 2005 "we saw a very dramatic snapback" in demand. That said, Ford sales fell 2.1 percent in August. It sold 209,897 vehicles in the United States, compared with 214,482 a year earlier. Sales were down 1.9 percent in the Ford division and off 5.8 percent at Lincoln. Demand was down for cars, crossovers and SUVs. It was not clear how many vehicles in the Houston area will be scrapped, LaNeve said, saying he had seen estimates ranging from 200,000 to 400,000 to 1 million. Ford's Houston dealers may have lost fewer than 5,000 vehicles in inventory, he said. Ford is the No. 1 automaker in the Houston market, with 18 percent share, according to IHS Markit. The company plans to ship used vehicles to Houston dealers and has "every indication we would have to add some production" of new vehicles to meet demand, LaNeve said. Investor concerns about inventories of unsold vehicles and falling used car prices have weighed on Detroit automakers' shares most of this year. Now, automakers can anticipate a jolt of demand from a big market that is a stronghold for Detroit brand trucks and SUVs. "It's got to be a positive for the industry," LaNeve said. Investors appeared to agree. GM shares rose as much as 3.3 percent to their highest since early March. Ford increased 2.8 percent at $11.34, and Fiat Chrysler's U.S.-traded shares were up 5.2 percent $15.91, hitting their highest in more than five years. GM reported a 7.5 percent increase in U.S. auto sales in August, helped by robust sales of crossovers across its four brands.
