This is a all original 2 owner Jeep CJ 5 Renegade Levi's Edition with the 258 inline 6 and a manual 4 speed transmission. This Jeep has always been stored in a garage and taken very good care of. I personally knew the original owner and he bought it new in 1978. The Jeep is in mint condition, no rust, dent or dings. It has the original soft top that is in great condition except for two small tears in the plastic windows. The temp gauge inside the cluster also does not work so i installed a after market gauge. It is also missing the radio and the front fog lights are not wired. This is a list of the things i have done to it in the past year with oem parts or as close as i could get. Radiator was tanked cleaned and flushed, new radiator hoses, heater hoses, water pump, thermostat, radiator cap and new fluid. Installed new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil, pcv valve and grommet, air filter, fuel pump, fuel filter, rebuilt the carburetor, new belts, smog pump, diverter valve, hoses, brake master cylinder, alternator, and changed fluids. The interior is in perfect condition, seats show no sign of wear or tear. Seats have always had sheepskin covers on them. Also have the rear seat that is also in perfect condition. The tires and wheels are also original and still in great shape. This jeep starts right up and runs great. The Jeep is sold as is with no warranty. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements.

FCA facing class-action lawsuit over Grand Cherokee shifters
Fri, Jun 24 2016Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is now facing a multi-million-dollar class-action lawsuit over the recalled shifter design in the 2014 and 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the 2012 to 2014 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300. Grand Cherokee owners, galvanized by Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin's fatal accident, filed the suit. According to The Wall Street Journal, the owners allege that FCA concealed the shifter's problems. On top of restitution, the class action suit is demanding a court order force FCA to issue a do-not-drive warning to owners of affected vehicles until it fixes the problem. FCA started distributing a software fix to dealers last week – according to the WSJ, the update will add more warnings about the shifter's position and will automatically kick the vehicle into park if the driver steps out. FCA's shifter problems have been bubbling under the surface as part of the company's recall issues. The US government dinged FCA with a $105 million fine last year for its recall practices (or lack thereof) last year, but things have exploded this week after Yelchin's death. The 27-year-old, best known for playing Ensign Pavel Chekov in the rebooted Star Trek film series, was killed after his 2015 Grand Cherokee rolled down his driveway and pinned the actor against a security gate. According to Jeep CEO Mike Manley, the company will dispatch engineers to analyze Yelchin's vehicle. Related Video:

Jeep rear-mounted fuel tank controversy
Federal investigations about safety of rear-mounted gas tanks is nothing new
Sun, 09 Jun 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Chrysler are currently making waves in our daily news feeds due to a disagreement over the safety of a few million Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models. Specifically, NHTSA has asked Chrysler to recall the SUVs because of the location of their fuel tanks, but you may be interested to know that requests such as this are nothing new.
Besides the two Jeep models, NHTSA has launched investigations over the years in such models as the Ford Crown Victoria (and its police-car counterpart), GM pickups built between 1972 and 1987, and rather famously the Ford Pinto.
Understanding how automakers and NHTSA have dealt with fuel-tank-safety concerns in the past may offer a better understanding of how Chrysler and the government agency will settle their current dispute. Check out the complete article from The Detroit News here.
