1976 Jeep CJ7

Ready for the beach, the trail, or the street! This well-built CJ7 will take you just about anywhere you'd care to go with ease! It's currently registered in NC with a clean clear title in hand. It runs excellent drives straight shifts as it should and stops. All the Lights function as they should, wipers work/washer works, horn, radio, all Gage's accept the speedo work (Tcase needs a speedo and true mileage unknown) the heat worked fine and the blower worked as it should however, the previous owner bypassed the heater when replacing a broken coolant line. Everything else works great. This is a 38 year old highly modified jeep it IS driven daily weather permitting however it ISN'T a highway machine by any means! It's a used jeep built for off-road and it has been used as such...it is far from mint! Now the fun stuff....

I'm sure there is more I'm forgetting. The frame is in excellent shape with zero rust or rot. The tub is in good shape with some minor surface rust. The front fenders have some small rust spots. This is not a rust bucket again it spent most of its life out west. The paint is far from perfect and there are many small dings and dents...please look carefully at all the pictures if you have any doubts. This jeep has been to Moab many times and has wheeled a few local spots here in North Carolina as well. I'm looking to build another TJ or LJ...I'm a jeep guy and I've had them all! I may be interested in a trade as well for a TJ or LJ. I've shipped vehicles before it's not difficult and I'd be happy to work with your shipper to make things easy (shipping is on your dime) Please check my feedback I've sold more than a few vehicles to happy buyers. I've listed this to the best of my ability and the jeep is sold as is with no warranties expressed nor implied. Please don't waste my time eBay isn't a game!

Driving the Panamera and Mike's Rant | Autoblog Podcast #487

Thu, Sep 8 2016

This week we cover some recent news like the upcoming Land Rover Discovery, updates to FCA's large car platform (including the Challenger), and talk about water injection. Then we go into what we've been driving - David just finished his time in the Porsche Panamera Turbo and Mike tried the GMC Acadia. And then Mike (who is still uncomfortable writing in the third person) goes on a rant about why automakers shouldn't specify which cars are aimed at women. The rundown is below. EV cost burden pushing automakers to their limits, says Stellantis' CEO Tavares

Wed, Dec 1 2021

DETROIT — Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said external pressure on automakers to quickly shift to electric vehicles potentially threatens jobs and vehicle quality as producers struggle with EVs' higher costs. Governments and investors want car manufacturers to speed up the transition to electric vehicles, but the costs are "beyond the limits" of what the auto industry can sustain, Tavares said in an interview at the Reuters Next conference released Wednesday. "What has been decided is to impose on the automotive industry electrification that brings 50% additional costs against a conventional vehicle," he said. "There is no way we can transfer 50% of additional costs to the final consumer because most parts of the middle class will not be able to pay." Automakers could charge higher prices and sell fewer cars, or accept lower profit margins, Tavares said. Those paths both lead to cutbacks. Union leaders in Europe and North America have warned tens of thousands of jobs could be lost. Automakers need time for testing and ensuring that new technology will work, Tavares said. Pushing to speed that process up "is just going to be counter productive. It will lead to quality problems. It will lead to all sorts of problems," he said. Tavares said Stellantis is aiming to avoid cuts by boosting productivity at a pace far faster than industry norm. "Over the next five years we have to digest 10% productivity a year ... in an industry which is used to delivering 2 to 3% productivity" improvement, he said. "The future will tell us who is going to be able to digest this, and who will fail," Tavares said. "We are putting the industry on the limits." Electric vehicle costs are expected to fall, and analysts project that battery electric vehicles and combustion vehicles could reach cost parity during the second half of this decade. Like other automakers that earn profits from combustion vehicles, Stellantis is under pressure from both establishment automakers such as GM, Ford, VW and Hyundai, as well as start-ups such as Tesla and Rivian. The latter electric vehicle companies are far smaller in terms of vehicle sales and employment. But investors have given Tesla and Rivian higher market valuations than the owner of the highly profitable Jeep and Ram brands. That investor pressure is compounded by government policies aimed at cutting greenhouse gas emissions. The European Union, California and other jurisdictions have set goals to end sales of combustion vehicles by 2035.
