1975 Jeep CJ5 with an AMC304 5.0L V8.

This Jeep has been amazing for the last 3 years that I've owned it! Camping, skiing, fishing, and most importantly cruising PCH looking for waves. The plates and tags are paid (CA only) till 2014.

BONUS for CA residents- 1975 does not require smog certification!!! This is gold when considering a vintage Jeep.

Here is a small list of upgrades and fixes I've done to her.

Repairs:
Tires (less than 100 miles on them)
Brakes (within the last 4 months)
Alternator (mean green)
Starter (within the last 6 months)
Rebuilt the top end of the motor (within the last 6 months)
Plugs and wires (within the last 6 months)
Distributor and rotor (within the last 6 months)
Center locking console (super convenient)
Speedometer + fuel and temp gauge.

Situation:
It is not a showroom/museum finished vehicle. Rather it is a Jeep from 1975 that looks tough, is tough, and will get you through anything.
I do not have doors. When I bought it, the doors that it came with were old, so I tossed them out and never looked back. I had no use for them in California.
I only have a Bikini top, although I have never installed it. It will send it with the vehicle.
3000 miles is my estimate to what I've put on the Jeep since I paid to get the engine rebuilt. Actual mileage is unknown.
Speedometer + fuel and temp gauge. (Unfortunately I only knew how to physically mount it to the dashboard and did not know how to wire it up. It is very inexpensive to have this done by a professional. I was just to lazy and never got around to it.) ***It does have working temp and oil pressure gauges.
It is NOT a Honda Civic. Please do NOT expect to get a precision vehicle with a swift 4sec 0-60 or 40+mpg. This is more comparable to a tractor than sports car. If you are unfamiliar with CJ5 Jeeps please be cautious in that driving these is an amazing experience, but it will command your full attention. I have used this to commute and have loved the feeling of true driving and connection to the road. My girlfriend also loves driving it, but frankly- she get's hit-on to much so I prefer her to take another car : )

Reason for selling:
I own a line of products that just got picked up by a major retailer. In order to buy my products from the factory to then sell to the retailer, I must liquidate. This liquidation will help me to borrow less money from the bank and therefor incur less interest on my loan. I will buy another CJ5 once I can turn my initial investment into profit. Wish me luck: )

Thank you very much for you time in reviewing my posting. You will love this Jeep!

Fiat Chrysler posts record Q3 profit thanks to U.S. trucks and Jeep

Wed, Oct 28 2020

MILAN — A rebound in car production in Fiat Chrysler on Wednesday reported record third-quarter earnings as production returned to nearly pre-pandemic levels. The Italian-American automaker, which is finalizing its full merger with French rival PSA Peugeot, reported a net profit in the three months ending Sept. 30 of $1.4 billion (1.2 billion euros). That compares with a loss of 179 million euros a year earlier. The carmaker reported adjusted earnings before tax and interest in North America of 2.5 billion euros. That offset deepening losses in Europe, Asia and at its Maserati luxury marquee. Latin America, the only other region to post a profit, saw it narrow by two-thirds to 46 million euros. “Our record results were driven by our teamÂ’s tremendous performance in North America,” CEO Mike Manley said in a statement. Overall, the carmaker said global earnings before tax and interest were a record 2.3 billion euros despite a 6% fall in revenues to 26 billion euros. Global shipments were down 3%, due largely to plant retooling in North American to produce the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer in the luxury SUV segment and the discontinuation of the Dodge Grand Caravan classic minivan. Fiat Chrysler announced earlier Wednesday that its merger with PSA Peugeot is on track to be finalized by the end of the first quarter of 2021, as planned. To meet regulatory concerns, the French carmaker is selling a small stake in a components maker to get below 40% ownership. The new automaker, to be called Stellantis, will be the fourth biggest producer in the world. Earnings/Financials Chrysler Dodge Fiat Jeep RAM Citroen Peugeot

Texan finds creative way to clear highway fast lane

Tue, Jun 14 2016

Few things are as infuriating as someone driving slow in the fast lane. A Jeep driver from Texas found himself in just such a predicament near Fort Worth, and came up with a creative way to urge the offending lane-blocker to get a move on. Machine, a YouTuber and off-road enthusiast from the Lone Star State, posted some dashcam footage to his account back in March which showed him stuck behind a slow driver. He was attempting to pass a slow-moving bobtail Peterbilt tractor when he got hung up by a white Ford Econoline squatting in the passing lane. On his YouTube page, Machine stated that the van, which apparently belonged to a plumbing company, was traveling along between 60 and 70 miles per hour along a stretch of highway with a stated speed limit of 70 mph. Confronted with the slow-moving van blocking the left lane, and traffic in the right lane, Machine called the number on the back of the Econoline and politely asked him to get out of the way. In the Econoline, the passenger picked up and was momentarily confused as Machine asked him to ask his driver to move out of the lane and let traffic pass. The van sped up, passed a tractor-trailer, and got out of the way, much to the relief of the traffic behind him. According to CBS news, 38 states have laws on the books to punish slow drivers squatting in the passing lane. In five of those states, the fine is upwards of $1000, and 22 states classify it as a misdemeanor. Stellantis expects strike to cost it $795 million in third-quarter profits

Tue, Oct 31 2023

MILAN — Automaker Stellantis said Tuesday that the autoworkers strike in North America is expected to cost the company around 750 million euros ($795 million) in profits — less than its North American competitors. The Europe-based maker of Jeep, Fiat and Peugeot reported a 7% boost in net revenues to 45.1 billion euros, with production halts caused by the strikes costing the company 3 billion euros in sales through October. The net revenue boost was due to higher volumes in all markets except Asia. Chief Financial Officer Natalie Knight told journalists that StellantisÂ’ strike impact was lower than the other Big Three automakers due to its global profile as well as some high-profile cost-cutting measures, calculating the hit at around 750 million euros ($795 million.) GM, the last carmaker to reach a deal to end the strike, reported an $800 million strike hit. Ford has put its impact at $1.3 billion. “We continue to be in a very strong position globally and in the U.S. This is an important market for us, and weÂ’re highly profitable and we are very committed to our future," Knight said. “But mitigation is core to how we act, and how we proceed.” Stellantis has canceled appearances at the CES technology show in Las Vegas next year as well as the LA Auto Show, due to the strike impact. Stellantis on Saturday reached a tentative agreement with the United Auto Workers Union to end a six-week strike by more than 14,000 workers at its assembly plants in Michigan and Ohio, and at parts warehouses across the nation. Stellantis does not report full earnings for the third quarter, instead providing shipments and revenues. It said that global sales of electric vehicles rose by 37% over a year earlier, powered by the Jeep Avenger and commercial vehicle sales. North America continued to be the revenue leader, contributing 21.5 billion euros, an increase of 2% over last year, and representing nearly half of global revenues. Europe, the next biggest performing region, saw revenues grow 5% to 14 billion euros, as sales rose 11%. Related video: Earnings/Financials UAW/Unions Alfa Romeo Chrysler Dodge Fiat Jeep Maserati RAM
