This Jeep looks awesome! There isn't any bondo in this Jeep anywhere! There were some rust issues in the body that I did cut out and weld in new steel, still some rust problems under the truck but you can see it all, nothing is hidden under layers of filler. The car runs and drives, but it did foul one plug recently so keep that in mind. I just put new brake cylinders on the front wheels and replaced the steering box. No power anything as you can see in the pictures. This jeep is a project and needs some more love to be a fully functional vehicle, but it would be a lot of fun to play with while working on it. Also just installed a new windshield! What it needs most now is the dash gone through to get everything working correctly. Speedo works, gas gauge doesn't. Headlights, tailights, and turn signals all work. 4 wheel drive works. Comes with original steel top and doors that function but need some more work to make them nice. Previous owner had hack job lengthened the top but I cut it apart, cleaned it up, and welded it back together as best as I could. Some grinding and sanding will help a lot! Top window is not installed but I can have it put in before shipping if need be. I also have the original rubber flares for it that are included but not pictured. I think it looks better without them. I will be including any Jeep stuff that I can find in a box along with the vehicle. There is even another seat for the back so you can carry more passengers when playing in the woods. The photo of the engine is from when I was rebuilding the Jeep. It looks the same, just assembled and dustier now. Have fun, look sharp, and play hard with this Jeep! Lots of looks at the grocery store too! I have a clear and clean title in hand. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction end, remainder required prior to release of vehicle. Call or text 4O6 53I 54O5 with questions before bidding. Delivery to northwestern United States is possible, but we would need to discuss time and cost. Thanks!

Jeep Wrangler JK's exit interview: brilliant, flaws and all
Tue, May 24 2016The engineers at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Jeep's current steward (and there have been many), have to be sweating bullets as they ready the forthcoming, long-overdue replacement for the Wrangler. It's the brand's icon, its most recognizable vehicle, and the reason Jeep enjoys such success today. Most brands use their flagships to lure shoppers who will then take home a more practical, pedestrian model. Think about the relationship between Corvettes and Malibus in the Chevy showroom. For Jeep, however, the Wrangler is a business unto itself: Nearly one in four Jeeps sold new last year was a Wrangler. That's a lot of pressure as Jeep gears up to replace the current model, codenamed JK, which has been on the road since 2007. I took a Wrangler into the woods to ponder it all. The Wrangler lineup starts around $26,000 but climbs rapidly from there. At the upper end of the spectrum sits the Rubicon Hard Rock, which builds on the already capable Rubicon's locking differentials and electronic front sway bar disconnect with a host of styling goodies. At $43,325 as tested, the Hard Rock is no cheap trail toy. Wranglers have gotten more comfortable and capable over the years, but driving one is still an exercise in compromises. Luxury here means durable leather upholstery and a lot of bass from the stereo. The driving experience is of the "well, it's better than it used to be" variety on pavement. The rational buy in this segment is the Toyota 4Runner Trail, which goes off-road almost as well as the Jeep and does everything else way better. But nobody takes home a Wrangler because it makes sense. It's a middle finger extended in the direction of conformity while fording the river of beige Corollas between home and office. You don't need a Wrangler, but you probably want one. That's why Jeep sold more than twice as many Wranglers as Toyota did 4Runners last year – and the 4Runner sells well. Wrangler sales aren't slipping, but increasingly stringent emissions and safety standards are signs of the inevitable forward march of progress – and so Wrangler must change with the times. Simple ways to improve the Wrangler are obvious: An updated interior with a modern infotainment system, user-selectable traction control modes tailored to specific terrain conditions, an eight-speed automatic, better aerodynamics, and a lot of weight-saving aluminum are inevitable.
CEO Sergio Marchionne curses FCA spokesman for emissions cheating denial
Tue, May 15 2018WASHINGTON — Fiat Chrysler Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne reprimanded the company's top U.S. spokesman for issuing press releases about Fiat's vehicle emissions practices days after Volkswagen's disclosure in September 2015 that the German automaker had used illegal software to evade emissions tests, documents released Monday show. Lawyers suing Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in a securities case filed excerpts of an email from Marchionne to Gualberto Ranieri, then the company's U.S. spokesman, in a filing in federal court in New York criticizing him for saying that the company does not use defeat devices. "Are you out of your goddam mind?" Marchionne wrote in an email on Sept. 22, 2015, adding that Ranieri should be fired and calling his actions "utterly stupid and unconscionable." The company said in a statement on Monday it was "understandable that our CEO would have a forceful response to any employee who would opine on such a significant and complex matter, without the matter having been fully reviewed through its appropriate channels." The statement added that Ranieri's comments came just days after VW's emissions issue became public "and before a comprehensive internal review and discussions with component suppliers was possible." Fiat Chrysler was sued in 2015 along with Marchionne and other executives over claims it defrauded shareholders by overstating its ability to comply with vehicle safety laws. An amended version of the complaint filed in 2017 added claims about its compliance with emissions laws. The shareholders accused the defendants of inflating Fiat Chrysler's share price by hundreds of millions of dollars from October 2014 to October 2015 by downplaying safety concerns. They said the shortcomings materialized in 2015 when the automaker was fined $175 million by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and took a roughly $670 million charge for recalls. Plaintiffs filed the excerpts seeking approval to take up to 40 additional depositions, including Marchionne's. The U.S. Justice Department sued Fiat Chrysler in May 2017, accusing it of illegally using software to bypass emission controls in 104,000 diesel vehicles sold since 2014. Fiat Chrysler has held numerous rounds of settlement talks with the Justice Department and California Air Resources Board to settle the civil suit, including talks as recently as earlier this month. It faces a separate criminal probe into the matter.
