Classic 1974 Jeep CJ5 Renegade

AMC 304 V8 - 3 Speed - Original Engine and Transmission
This is a 3 day auction and will end soon.

This Jeep is a daily driver and is very dependable, turns heads everywhere I go and is fun and easy to drive.  I keep it indoors when not being driven and take good care of it.  I love this Jeep and I'm only selling it because we need the money to grow our business and that's a priority right now.

I have listed it for sale locally in Denison, Texas and I reserve the right to end the auction early if sold.

Details:
All metal body - Very Solid
Full Roll Cage
This Jeep was not and is not rusted (only surface on suspension parts, etc.. where fresh paint may have chipped off while being driven - Very common for a daily driver.

During the restoration, both front fenders, hood and grille were replaced with brand new Factory Replacement Parts from AMD Metal for the following body parts:

New Left and Right Fenders
New Grille
New Hood
These body parts are new and straight, factory coated to prevent corrosion or rust and looks great.

Front Floor Pans are original and have not been patched.
They are not rusted and are in great shape.
Rear Floor pans are also in good shape, however there are small imperfections (dents - dings) in the metal where it looks like they carried something in the back.  They still look great and are solid.

New Parts:
Brand New Holley 650 CFM - Electric Choke
New Plugs and High Voltage Wires
New High Voltage Coil
New Valve Covers
New Alternator and belt
New Radiator  (Runs cool, does not overheat)

Engine:
Original AMC 304 V8
Starts very very easy.
Idles great
Runs great - lots of power.
AMC 304 Long Tube Headers with Jeep CJ5 Side Exhaust.  Looks Great and Sounds Amazing.  These were extremely popular back in the 70's and I know why.

Transmission: Factory 3-Speed Manual.  Shifts perfect and easy.  Clutch works great.  No problems.

Transfer Case:  4x4 works good.  The transfer case shifts into HIGH and LOW with ease.

Electrical:
Headlights work (high and low beam)
Tail lights and brake lights work.  New LED tail/brake lights - Very bright and safe.
All turn signals work.
Hazard lights work
Wipers work (2 speed)  New Wiper Motor and wiper transmission linkage.
New exterior lights (park lights, turn signals, side markers)
Horn works

New Windshield and rubber

New AM/FM Radio with dash mounted speaker (Radio works good)

Factory OEM Jeep Steel Wheels - Powder coated White.
4 Factory hub caps in great condition (rare and hard to find in this shape)
New BFG All Terrain Tires
Comes with 5th Powder Coated Steel Wheel and extra hub cap if you want it for a rear mounted spare.

New Racing Seats - very comfortable and safe.
New Seat Belts

The front suspension was recently aligned and this Jeep goes very straight down the road.  Rare for a CJ5 with such a short wheel base.

New Heavy Duty Front Bumper

New Brake Master Cylinder

New VERY Heavy Duty Custom Rear Bumper with receiver (not yet installed) Comes with Jeep.

New Rear Drive Shaft and U-Joints - I had a heavy duty drive shaft specially built by a drive shaft shop and machinist.  Has been balanced and works great.

Ammo Box Center Console (Works great)

New 8000lb Warn Winch (works great and has remote)

New Orange Paint - Old paint taken down to metal, etch primed then sealed and painted right

I used Armor Liner that was tinted Orange like body color for Roll Cage, Dash and firewall
(Tough as nails and will not rust)
Black Armor Liner on floor pans.

4 New Fender Flares

What else?

This Jeep comes with a CJ5 Renegade Decal / Stripe Kit that is correct for 1974.
I have a factory Jeep tailgate that is sandblasted and ready to be installed to fill the hole in the back.
I have a new CJ5 (replacement) heater motor and switch that needs to be bolted up to the firewall.
The newly installed carburetor needs to be tuned jetted down 1-2 sizes to run perfect.  It runs great as it is and I drive it every day, and I would drive it across country like it is, but it needs to be tuned.  There is a very slight lag when you barley press on accelerator.  If you press down about 1/4 to 1/2 or all the way down....it has TONS of power and get's on it great, just hesitates under very slight acceleration.  It's just a brand new carb and needs to be tuned.
Needs a fuel sending unit installed.

The Speedo is not accurate and the fuel gage does not work (needs a sending unit).
I like using my Iphone for the speedometer (downloaded a GPS speedometer App for Free) and stuck it to windshield with Velcro - very accurate and comes with NAVIGATION.

As the photos will show, I have turned the steering wheel around in order to give me more room, however I do have a very nice (flat) custom wood grain steering wheel that will go with the Jeep if you prefer to have that one instead.   Personally, I like the one that's on it.

This Jeep is ready for Car Shows, the Trail or your daily commute to work.

It's located in Denison, Tx and can be driven and inspected anytime.

I have a clear Texas Title in my name and it currently registered, inspected and insured in Texas.
This is not a quick flip vehicle, it's a great Jeep and I hate to see it go.

Jeep Renegade to show off new Mopar gear in Detroit

Sun, Jan 11 2015

Jeep's adorable new Renegade is arriving in the US market soon (we're looking forward to driving it in a couple weeks), and to highlight that fact, the American off-road brand is trotting out a pair of Mopar-modified compact CUVs for the 2015 North American International Auto Show. Rather simply, Jeep has modified one Renegade to show off its prowess in the city, and another that plays up the crossover's off-road abilities. Despite their different purposes, both vehicles show off Mopar's parts catalog and Jeep's Authentic Accessories lineup for the new baby Jeep. The Urban Renegade borrows uses a Renegade Limited with Anvil paint as its base and draws from the Accessories catalog, adding a number of Omaha orange accents and satin black wheels. Mopar donated a bike-hauling trailer hitch to the rear of the Renegade, while its cabin features Katzkin leather-lined seats. Once again, Omaha orange accents brighten up the Limited's cabin. As for the off-road model, Mopar got a bit more involved, starting with the Renegade Trailhawk and adding satin black wheels with Colorado red trim and X-shaped graphics, borrowed from military jerry cans, to the Commando Green exterior. A number of prototype and one-off body mods were fitted to the Trailhawk, including a concept skid plate, rock rails and a new rear valence. Inside, Katzkin leather was applied to the Renegade's seats while the Omaha orange accents from the Urban Renegade have been replaced with Commando Green bits and bobs in the off-road model. Look for more on these new Renegade twins come Monday, when we hit the floor of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Until then, check out the official press release from Mopar. Daily Driver: 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X Edition

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Daily Driver videos are micro-reviews of vehicles in the Autoblog press fleet, reviewed by the staffers that drive them every day. Today's Daily Driver features the 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X Edition, reviewed by Adam Morath. You can watch the video above or read a transcript below. Watch more Autoblog videos at /videos. VIDEO TRANSCRIPT Hi, I'm Adam Morath for Autoblog. Now, undoubtedly, one of the coolest things about this job is that you're in and out of so many different vehicles, but, I'll be honest, there are times where, if you're in very similar vehicles, they can start to run together a little bit. That's why I love getting into a car like this that just snaps you right out of it because it's so unique and so different from anything else on the market. Of course I'm talking about the Jeep Wrangler. I'm in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is the X Edition, which stands for X Games. Jeep is a big title sponsor of the 2015 Aspen X Games and you can see that all over this vehicle. You have white, glossy accent plastic in the interior; mountain graphics throughout the interior and exterior of the vehicle – a nod, obviously, to the winter sports and skiing that you would do out in Aspen. And then in keeping with that mountainous theme, you have an Alpine nine-stereo speaker system. I'll be honest, though, that some of it feels a little overdone to me. For instance, there's a power-bulge in the hood. Credit to Jeep: the vents are actually functional, but this is not the trim I would go for, just personally. It's one of those vehicles that people are always wondering, "I really like the look of it [and] I like the capability, but could I live with a Wrangler?" It's the same sort of question you'll get from people who are looking at a sports car, "could I actually live with this is my daily driver?" And I have to say, Jeep has come a long way – Wrangler, in particular, has come a long way – in terms of driving comfort. Of course, don't expect "Lexus quiet." You can probably hear it's a big noisy in the cabin. It's a bit of a bumpy ride. There are things about this vehicle that I could see being annoying in your day-to-day life. For instance, the door: it's essentially an external hinge on the door, but it doesn't stay open for you. So, if you're on any sort of a tilt, the door will come back in and you have to just prop it open with your leg. Little things like that.

Jeep: 4x4ever

Mon, Feb 8 2016

Jeep is turning 75 this year, and it seems like the star of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles brand stable has been making cool ads that run during the Super Bowl almost as long. (Yes, we know this was Super Bowl 50. We're exaggerating.) In this spot, all kinds of active sports and nature stuff that Jeep owners do (or least like other to think they do) is shown with every kind of Jeep, old and new. Here's to another 75 years.
