1973 Jeep Cj5 (304 V8) Colorado Vehicle (low Reserve) on 2040-cars
Jenison, Michigan, United States
I purchased the Jeep a couple years ago from the second owner who
purchased the vehicle in Colorado in 1981. The vehicle has not seen a Michigan winter Now has complete glass body The body is white gel coat (has never been primed or painted) Aftermarket jeep seats Original 304 V8 equipped (has newer Jasper long block with low miles). Edlebrock intake and carb. (very quick vehicle) 3 speed manual (newer 3 speed, but have orig trans and xfer case. The orig trans needs 3rd gear) I believe the axles to be original - note sure of the exact specifics regarding the size or ratio Dual exhaust, 3" suspension lift 33" Grand Prix tires ex. cond (12.50 x 15”) Front tow bar (flat hauls great), Reese hitch Only has a half top - no doors The frame and suspension are very solid with no rust although there is
an area on the Front passenger side that was repaired prior to 1981 presumably as a
result of an accident. The repair was done well and has held up well for over 30 years. This is a very nice old Jeep but I don't use it and need the space it
is taking up. You can call Dan at 616-836-4369 with any questions. Please only bid if you are serious.
If you have less than 3 transactions or less than 95% positive feedback
please call me to discuss the vehicle before you bid. Note: the winning bidder is responsible for making arrangements for
shipping. A deposit of $500 needs to be
posted to my Pay Pal account within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance needs to be paid in full before
the vehicle leaves my possession. |

Jeep gunning for 1M sales this year
Thu, 16 Jan 2014Jeep CEO Mike Manley would rather soft-pedal the seven-figure prognostication for now, but Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne won't have it, proclaiming in an interview that Jeep will sell one million units worldwide this year. Manley has called that come-hither number "a stretch," the history of recent gains perhaps reason for his caution: in 2011 the brand sold 568,317 units, followed by the record-breaking tally of 701,626, then another record in 2013 with 731,565 units moved.
That kind of gap means everything will need to go magically for Jeep to record a 37-percent increase this year - amazing Cherokee sales, a brilliant launch for the little Jeep arriving in Europe later this year and a heavy wave to raise sales in US, European and Chinese markets. Manley is confident about the prospects in 2015, though, with the Cherokee in full stride, the Fiat-based Jeep on its way to the US and expanded global production. It's not as though Marchionne's prediction for Jeep's 2014 sales is unexpected, since he first made it last year. But even if the number ends up a little short for 2014, there's no doubt it will be impressive.
2014 Jeep Cherokee facing production delay
Fri, 17 May 2013Jeep's bold-faced new direction spearheaded by the 2014 Cherokee is facing some teething issues. According to a report by the Detroit Free Press, production start-up of the controversial new utility vehicle at its Toledo North facility is running about a month behind schedule "due to a wide range of issues." That's according to Mark Chernoby, senior vice president of engineering at Chrysler.
Chernoby maintains that the issues being encountered aren't unusual for the launch of a new vehicle - particularly one with a new powertrain - and he downplayed the delay, telling Jeep dealers that they "will have ample inventory of the midsize SUV by fall." Among the kinks being worked out? Calibrating the Cherokee's cutting-edge ZF nine-speed automatic transmission and refining assembly line tasks to make the process more efficient.
Chrysler expects to start building retail-ready versions of the Cherokee around mid-June, with official sales slated to start in September.
Chrysler delays 2014 Jeep Cherokee media launch
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Chrysler is making the unusual move of delaying the first media drives of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which were slated to start next week in Seattle. And while something like this is a rare occurrence, and one that most of the Autoblog staff can't recall happening this publicly or so close to the event itself, it won't effect the actual on-sale date of the new Cherokee, which is set to hit showrooms in September.
"Over the last couple of weeks during final quality and durability testing, we have discovered the opportunity to further improve powertrain calibration," Chrysler told Automotive News. This marks the second notable delay in the Cherokee's short life, after production was delayed for roughly a month earlier this summer.
Still, we'd rather Chrysler make sure the Cherokee is ready for primetime before flying media in from around the country. It shows a willingness to get things right the first time, rather than offering media drives and then tweaking the car after the fact.
