up for sale is a great looking 1970 amc jeep cj5 4x4 with a hard top, which is currently on it. it does not have doors, but for an additional cost i can get a set for reasonable. jeep is an inline 4 cylinder 3 speed manual transmission and she fires right up, runs like a top, also has new brakes. the body is in great shape for its age but does have rust behind passenger and driver seats in the floorboard, but is minimal for the age(most are rusted completely across, this one is only a few spots). The jeep does smoke pretty bad, leaks some oil and does need some work to be daily driver ready, but it will run and drive,  its perfect as is for the farm, hunting, or trail riding or with a little work could be a great daily driver. 4x4 and transmission are in good shape and are ready to go. the jeep is for sale locally as well as on here, and if it sells locally i will end the auction, but high bidder will be informed and if they wish to make a cash offer they can. the hard top is also for sale separately so it may be taken off as well, but high bidder will be informed before its sold. thanks for looking! call or text jordan at 256-431-9181 or email jmjohnsonfarms@gmail.com for more questions or to come look at it, its in Cartersville, ga. about ah hour north of Atlanta on interstate 75.

NHTSA closes investigation into Jeep Liberty fires

The investigation that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened into the Jeep Liberty in October 2013 has been closed. NHTSA received two (!) complaints about fires starting in the driver's door, thought to be caused by the master power window switch. The initial estimate was that 80,000 Libertys could be roped into a possible recall, but according to a report in the Detroit News the agency examined records for 425,000 Chrysler products that used the same window switch, including the Dodge Nitro and Chrysler Town & Country minivan.
After canvassing 265 warranty claims related to the master switches, NHTSA concluded that the rate of fires compared to the "large population of vehicles" was rather low, and that there was no trend pattern behind the few issues it did find. Perhaps with that, and the closure of the trailer hitch investigation, the Liberty can finally rest in peace.
