I purchased this as part of a larger sale, I don't need it and I don't have room for it. The odometer reads just under 40,000 miles...it may or may not be correct. The body is fair, some panels such a floors have been welded in here and there over time...Seems complete except for mirrors and glass, the tires are not roadworthy. Starts right up nicely, goes into all gears and moves in all gears, has good "recent" fuel pump, carburetor, exhaust system. It does have a crack in the exhaust manifold, Seats are pretty good, wiring is good as everything works.....vacuum wiper motors work...Just installed a new master cylinder but have not yet completed bleeding the entire system. For the most part, mechanically this Jeep is very solid, although the body is fair it is solid as well just has some bumps and bruises and bodywork here and there. There is a plow hook up, appears all there except for the plow and it does have a hitch on the back for other attachments"
1960 Jeep CJ3B...4 wheel drive, 3 speed transmission with High and Low range transfer case, Plow set up, no plow...all lights and electricals work...Starts easily, goes into gear/s easily, drives in all gears...Vehicle appears solid mechanically (of course it is still 50+ years old) Has no glass, doors had plexiglass screwed to them, the hardtop had plexiglss windows...I see this Jeep as a good runing project...the pictures will tell a lot of the story as well. Please contact me anytime with questions....I'd like to sell this quickly and would like it to leave my driveway quickly so Please bid what you can pay and arrange to pick it up within a week...sold with a bill of sale.. contact and a non-refundable $200 deposit due within 24 hrs of sale via Pay Pal... balance is due in cash (only) within 7 (seven) days at pick up. Chrysler recalls 468,700 Jeep Grand Cherokees, Commanders over rollaway risk
Mon, 13 May 2013Chrysler has issued a recall covering a combined 469,000 units of the 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2006-2010 Jeep Commander (inset). Of that number, 295,000 are in the US, roughly 33,000 in Canada and Mexico and the remainder in other markets. It seems an electrical fault in the transfer case can allow the affected SUVs to shift into neutral on their own, while an Associated Press report says that Chrysler had "found cracks in a circuit board that turns the four-wheel-drive system on and off." The issue was discovered when an owner started his car remotely and it rolled away.
Chrysler is expected to begin notifying owners in June 2013, who can then take their cars to dealers. The dealer will reflash the final drive controller free of charge. There's a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below with more information.
LA-bound 2014 Jeep Wrangler special edition gives us the Willys for $25,795
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The Jeep Wrangler might be the reigning king of special editions, but with sales records being broken almost all year, this plan is obviously resonating with buyers. Joining new models like the Dragon Edition and Polar Edition, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler is adding a new Willys Wheeler Edition to pay homage to Jeep's military heritage.
Getting ready for its big debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition is inspired by early Willys CJ (Civilian Jeep) models with exclusive styling and upgraded off-road goodies. Starting with a Wrangler Sport, these upgrades include a Dana 44 rear axle with limited-slip differential and 3.73 gears, along with meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires mounted to the Willys Wheeler's black 17-inch wheels. For more of a classic Jeep look, this model adds a gloss black grille, "Willys" hood stickers and rock rails to protect the side sills. Jeep is also tossing in a D-ring, tow strap and gloves that are all kept in a special carrying bag.
When it goes on sale early next year, the Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition will start at $25,795 for the two-door model, while the four-door will start at $29,595. There's an official press release posted below, and we'll be sure to have live images of the special-edition Wrangler live from the LA Auto Show floor later this week, so stay close.
